DES MOINES, Iowa --
July isn't over yet but if current weather patterns hold Iowa could be on track for one of the coldest Julys in more than a hundred years.

I've certainly been enjoying it. I hate really hot weather. Warm with a bit of a breeze is perfect, and we've had A LOT of that this year. The ole grill has been working over time.

I'm here (for another month; moving to LA) and can tell you that it is the coolest in the 6 years I've been here.

OMG, brat & beer sound sooooo good right now. Portland has been sucky all week - every inch of public fountain wetness is laden with children and my tomatoes are wilting!:[

Iowa? How about Washington state?

Hottest. Day. EVAR in Seattle.

Hottest. July. EVAR in Arizona.

Hottest 4th of July in Texas.

Be Well.

Coldest day since 1893
Hottest day EVAR (read: since records were kept ~120 years)

What does this prove?

What does this prove?

That increased volatility in long etablished weather patterns corresponding to most of computer modelled scientific predictions regarding AGW/ACC are undeniable.

TY fer askin'.

Be Well.

We've been setting ALL TIME record highs since June.
The last 2 days have again broken the highest temp ever recorded in SEattle.

All this proves is that the environment and the interactions between trees, water, fish and animals is very dificult and can be easily screwed up.

Apparently thermohaline circulation is slowing, high & low fronts are staying put longer. The solar activity is changing and our weather along with it. Doesn't that prove something? Either it's naturally occurring, or someone is detrimentally taking advantage of us. Many people have proven CO2 increase is beyond all known historical models, perhaps that's a good enough reason to lie about repercussions to global climatic changes?

That increased volatility in long etablished weather patterns corresponding to most of computer modelled scientific predictions regarding AGW/ACC are undeniable.

So computer models can tell all that with ~120 years of data? Cool. Or hot. Or whatever you want it to be. 120 years. What's that? A few microseconds of a 24 hour model?

*yawn*

TY fer askin'.

YW

"Doesn't that prove something?"

Not to the uber-intelligent, like goatfart.

FTFY

Just as I would't buy a stock based on its movement in an hour, I won't judge weather patterns based on 120 years of data.

Well obviously you'll be dead before there's enough data that you'd decide to accept as a trend. Good for all.

Dude, Goatman is still reserving his opinion about Sarah Palin until her book comes out. LOL.

Short selling day traders with hedge fund bankrolls make a hell of a LOT more than nearly all long term investments upon which they predate. That's why the practice is no longer legal. Jim Cramer's interview on The Daily Show 3/12/09 to see how and why.

Ignoring that there are TWO meteorological interpretations is not going to help to understand or predict the climate data. We accept that dramatic climate changes are happening, and some assholes profit from closing off information that denies it.

Global warming uber alles,
Laws will supercede any rights.....

Coldest July in Iowa

Hottest July in WA since forever.

We have friends up there and they are howling over the 103 and 104 temps this week.

And there isn't a fan or window AC to be had--anywhere.

Unless you are a Home Depot employee who is selling them from the trunk of his car.

Patriot Acts and FEMA camps stylee? I don't think so.

Commercial and military industrial polluters need to be stopped from causing further damage and brought to justice.
