Think about it.

The people of Iran were well armed before and during the revolution that started in 1979, but were systematically disarmed of the last 30 years to the point that what you see now is young people being thrown (executed) from the 5th story and their peers, watching are able to do nothing.

Am I to believe that you would want the US to begin this same systematic disarming to happen here?
