"Don't bet against us."

--Barack Hussein

Seems like less than half the country is betting FOR you.

Hopefully, Americans were watching Kathleen Sebelius this weekend. What an idiotic Obama Mouthpiece.

I guess our little friends don't like this thread. I'll check back later.

Obviously, some Americans aren't looking up the claims made by Fox News, etc. on FAct Check.org.
Most of their claims are easily disproven but the media is doing a very poor job of examining the claims made by the right.

Obviously, more Americans ARE checking the facts out, Danni, and they don't like what they see at all. They see another hodge podged piece of crap bill being rushed through with no time to be thoroughly digested, and shoved down everyone's throats just like the shit stimuls bill and that cap and trade nonsense that the Senate doesn't want any part of. Maybe that's how you think the country should be run. Thank God not too many people think like you.

"Obviously, some Americans aren't looking up the claims made by Fox News, etc. on FAct Check.org.
Most of their claims are easily disproven but the media is doing a very poor job of examining the claims made by the right."

Uh oh...DANNI obviously doesn't like this thread at all! here are some reports that may cheer you up, Danni:

"Monday, July 20, 2009
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of 7 (see trends).
Overall, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove. The President earns approval from 41% of white voters, 97% of black voters, and 58% of all other voters."

Oh, that wasn't the one I meant, you probably will like this one better:

"Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Thirty-two percent (32%) of likely voters believe the United States is heading in the right direction, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
While that's only down two points over the past week, it's the lowest level found on the question since mid-February.
Sixty-two percent (62%) of voters say the country is moving down the wrong track, up a point from last week and also the highest level since February."

Damn! I'll keep looking though...

"Thursday, July 09, 2009
Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on eight out of 10 key electoral issues, including, for the second straight month, the top issue of the economy. They've also narrowed the gap on the remaining two issues, the traditionally Democratic strong suits of health care and education."

Holy shit! They're ALL looking like this. Maybe this last one will make your day, Danni...

"Tuesday, July 14, 2009 Republican candidates continue to lead on the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot as Democrats fall to their lowest level of support among voters in recent years.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 40% would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate while 37% would choose the Democratic candidate."

Ooops...it just ain't lookin good for you and your little friends right now. Really sorry, Danni.

If Rasmussen ever goes out of business, Tighties won't have any talking points at all.

Scare tactics by the GNOPers have frightened the Obama Indies, but that was to be expected. Obama did the right thing letting Congress go first on health care this time, but between now and October he will own this issue and no, I wouldn't bet against him.

After all the scare tactics, the final product will sound tame, and Dems will force the final Bill through.

Corky, when your brain wakes up, tell it that this was a Washington Post/ABC poll. Thanks.

I admit I haven't read much about Obama's health care solution but the little I do know I'm not crazy about.

Hopefully they will make changes.

After all the scare tactics, the final product will sound tame, and Dems will force the final Bill through.

All before August 7th? Is this another "crisis"?

lisa - you may go here to peruse whichever chapter you'd like:

thomas.loc.gov

don't expect your reps to read it - most of them have stated they won't read it before voting yes on it.

-All before August 7th?

October, more likely.

How something that has been fought over for 50 years can be put off as moving too quickly is hilarious.

When, and if, lucidity ever returns, please note I was responding to Jest's Rasmussen nonsense.

That is all.

Nanc??

How many of them admit to reading the Patriot Act??

That's what I thought.

But thanks for the link. I will take a look.

lisa - that's why it is up to the public to educate themselves and write daily to them - if for no other reason than to remind them THEY work for u.s. - not the other way around.

"If Rasmussen ever goes out of business, Tighties won't have any talking points at all."

Not likely since those who count know Rasmussen is one of the very most accurate...probably number one according to a study done by Fordham University. I'm really sorry you don't like the numbers though.

Yeah, after 50 years, why even bother reading it? Look how well that worked with the last $784B.

Old man Dingell drafted H.R. 3200 when he was about 30 years old? Who knew?

LOL...you crack me up. You go along with the Washington Post/ABC poll but Rasmussen is nonsense for saying the same thing. By golly, nothing partisan about YOU. And I really AM sorry that the the halo on your idol is fading.

The Wizard of OZ was smart enough to send Dorthy out to fix a problem before she found out he fucking her. This guy behind the curtain hopes nobody will catch on.

Obama's Midas touch starting to dull??? Nawwww...not with Corky anyway. Corkey the Corker may need to be isolated from current news reports to retain that undying adoration. And for Pete's sake, Corky, don't be looking at any polls.

"NEW YORK Could it be that President Barack Obama's Midas touch is starting to dull a bit, even among members of his own party?

Conservative House Democrats are balking at the cost and direction of Obama's top priority, an overhaul of the nation's health care system. A key Senate Democrat, Max Baucus of Montana, complains that Obama's opposition to paying for it with a tax on health benefits "is not helping us."

Another Democrat, Rep. Dan Boren of Oklahoma, tells his local newspaper that Obama is too liberal and is "very unpopular" in his district."

It is almost comical. Thinking this current body has what it takes to end a 50 year battle in a matter of weeks.

Last week, Douglas Elmendorf, the director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) sent shockwaves through Washington when he told Congress that the Democrats' plans would make health care more costly. Throughout this debate, President Obama has spoken of the need to "bend the cost curve" or drive health care costs down. During a congressional hearing, however, Mr. Elmendorf testified that the Democrats' plans would have the opposite effect, saying that under their proposals, "The curve is being raised" and costs would "significantly expand." That's because the Democrats' plan adds a new layer of taxes, mandates, and bureaucracy on top of the current system. If that's not bad enough, the Democrats' plan cuts Medicare and takes away choices for millions of seniors. What does all of this mean? Higher costs for the medicine and treatments you need.

"Why it's increasingly difficult to take Rasmussen polls seriously"

You're a real jewel, Corker...you're not seriously using Media Matters to prove Rsmussen is not accurate, are you? Even when the Fordham University study says Rasmussen and Pew are the MOST accurate? Did you even see the proofreading errors in that piece of shit article you posted. Looks like it was done by some high school sophomore. You GOTTA be kidding.

wapo and abc are reporting the same thing!

my synop on this sitcheeashun:

every dumbsh*t in the nation, plus a few smart people voted for this guy - the dumbsh*ts are back to bau - you know, collecting a welfare check, buying bonbons with their food stamps and trying to buy houses they cannot afford, meanwhile racking their credit cards up to the max - they thought everything would just fall into place the moment snowjobama set foot in the house - correct? those people went back to sleep - just don't mess with their stuff! they were the uneducated - there's no way they're going to stay informed on the issues. THIS IS PRICELESS!

funny how they could be rallied to vote this clown in and are nowhere to be found now.

Obama's health care approval ratings are getting hit from both sides -- the Republicans who don't like him and the liberals who are afraid he won't get universal care.

If it passes with universal care, his numbers will go back up, in my view.

#27 | Posted by rcade

That's one good reason.

But the more clear reason is historic. Few presidents ever accomplish anything and become more popular for it. The reason is people always disagree with the details and specifics. Then it gets passed and amazingly the numbers in the polls start to go back up.

I'd probably add that the NOPers are missing that their party numbers are even lower than Obama's on the issue.

And 54% of the country favors the plan now going to the floor for debate.

He's less celebrity and more president now. So naturally his numbers drop and I can't say that it is indicative of failure on his part, just the American tradition of not trusting politicians. Wake me when his approval ratings dip below 40%.

Obama has fallen into the venus flytrap of modern politics: Healthcare Reform.

If he hadn't fucked his chances of a second term prior to this, he is certainly well on his way to doing it now.

And 54% of the country favors the plan now going to the floor for debate.

#29 | Posted by Sycophant at 2009-07-20 02:17 PM |

Only 54% favor this plan going to the floor for debate is a good thing? One would think it would be much higher than the number of those that want Universal Healthcare.

Wanting it to go to debate is not the same as wanting it to pass.

Debating and reading bills before voting on them seems to be going the way of the dinosaur these days.

Debating and reading bills before voting on them seems to be going the way of the dinosaur these days.

Yup, the merits of a bill can be known only through the "D" or "R" behind the person sponsoring it.

Not that republicans would handle it any differently if they had the majorities that the Dems have now.

They didn't. See Patriot Act.

I'd drop it too.

First thing he needs to do is split up all the disgusting whale of insurance companies.
And then he should put everyone on welfare including Michelle O. and the kids.

And if the coverage has faults or incomplete planning, then EVERYONE should get an improved system. If the health care isn't good enough, then it should be improved and the system changed until quality presents.

Obama on his way to being a lame duck in first 6 months of his term. How's that for making history.

So this morning on Good Morning America:

Hillary apologies to India for being the major contributor of global warming gases.

She was then told to pound sand when she asked for voluntary participation in curbing said gases.

Ha!

Then they ask her about the missiles in N. Korea and how the 'previous administration's failed policies' never worked. She compared N. Korea to an impudent child, and 'as a mother, you know, she knows the best thing she can do is ignore a child when they are acting up.

When asked about the 2 journalists who were incarcerated by N. Korea, she acknowledged that the journalists were doing wrong, but 'now we need to get em home.'

When asked about what is going on in Iran, she said that we are waiting, but the 'window for engagement' will probably close in October or November.

What an utter sorry excuse for a Secretary of State we have.

50% of the country has a brain, the other half (Obama supporters) has a brain fried on drugs.

Of course his rating should drip.

Obamacare will not increase the quantity of health care available. It would allocate available health care using other criteria.

Obamacare would be more expensive. Use California government employment as an example. Instead of programs being administered by private sector employees down in the trenches, earning an average salary of $30,000 per year, it would be administered by government employees receiving $60,000 per year in compensation. Or in the alternative, incompetent corrupt cronies would receive contracts to administer the programs in the same way that Rezko and other Chicago machine politics cronies built low cost housing projects that were so defective that there were never occupied. www.sourcewatch.org Obama is the product of and a participant in corrupt Chicago machine politics. www.google.com

Their business and political agenda is feathering their own nests and securing power by unfettered spending of citizens' money to accomplish their own ends.

Do any of you think that they won't use Obamacare corruptly? Do any of you think Obamacare won't be administered inefficiently if past performance provides any guidelines? Do any of you think that Obamacare won't cost more than private administration? Will the leopard change its spots? Don't bet on it.

Obamacare: A Health Care Rationing Scheme to Enrich Insurers, Drug Companies and Large Hospital Chains

Behind the facade of reform, Obama and leading Democrats ruled universal, single-payer coverage off the table before debate even began. Instead they've focused on taxing more, rationing care, placing profits above human need, disdaining vital change, shifting the cost burden to individuals and requiring everyone to be insured; imposing fines up to $1000 for non-compliance, and making a broken system even worse

uruknet.com

business as usual...Woodrow Wilson would understand

I've given money to several organizations fighting this, and contacted both my senators and congressional rep.

The two senators' offices tell me that the tide is really beginning to swing against this. (that's a change from what they said originally)

I remember back when Hilliary tried to socialize medicine... the more it got publicized, the less people, which included most democrats, didn't like it.

Maybe a little rerun going on here.. Keep talking Mr. President.. keep talking.. people will keep bailing out on this as they learn about it.

Thank God.

If some kind of worthwhile healthcare reform isn't passed within Obama's first term, it is not likely to get done in our lifetimes. I hope the obstructionist mouth breathers here, who spend so much time lobbying for the status quo, enjoy watching their fortunes evaporate to the heath care industry as the costs of health care continue to increase at several times the rate of inflation. SUCKERS!

Government run health care?

Won't work.

I'm moving to a new house and transferring all of the utilities.

Not surprisingly, the only utility that gives a continual "busy" phone line is the, you guessed it, the city water department.

All of the for-profit utilities ANSWER THEIR FUCKING TELEPHONES.

So, got the flu?

Too fucking bad, call back when the line isn't busy!

so whats left...u in favor of passing this bill or not?

If this fails, the right can once again bask in the glory of having saved this nation -- yet again -- from being saved.

who right? Obama is selling ad nauseum here:

Obamacare: A Health Care Rationing Scheme to Enrich Insurers, Drug Companies and Large Hospital Chains
Stephen Lendman

July 20, 2009

On February 24, Barack Obama told a joint session of Congress that "we must....address the crushing cost of health care....caus(ing) a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds. By the end of the year, it could cause 1.5 million Americans to lose their homes. In (each of) the last eight years....one million....Americans have lost their health insurance....Given these facts, we can no longer afford to put health care reform on hold....health care reform cannot wait, it must not wait, and it will not wait another year."

if by "anointed" you mean "oily", you are correct.

Finally! American is waking up to the Obama fraud. The Stimulus Bill has been a mega-failure and now Obama wants America to commit to a trillion dollar healthcare disaster amongst the largest debt in U.S. history. Foreclosures are still going strong. The number of people unemployed is rising steadily. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan rage on. Americans are having more and more trouble putting food on the table. But the good news is that the Banks are recording profits thanks to Obama's taxpayer funded help and Michelle Obama is carrying $900 clutches, $500 sneakers and the Obamas are going on $25,000 taxpayer funded dates to New York. Nice!

Every day Obama's approval numbers are slipping across the board. By December, George W. Bush will be more popular.

someone this PM was mentioning that he has never lost anything like this in his professional life and that he is really starting to get defensive on it and meaner...

ANOther prime example

HE MusT fAIL in his efforts to destroy the best health care system in the world in the name of reforming it WHICH EVERY repubilcan who talks says is needed...........its the old throwing the baby out with the bath water idea....

It will never happen. Obama's popularity is pretty much done and I do not expect this healthcare plan to go through. His approval numbers are crashig because he is an ineffective leader. His Stimulus plan was a complete bust and a waste of taxpayer money. His philosophy is to shove bills through without anyone looking at them and ignoring costs. America has had enough.

It used to be that Obama was beyond criticism but that is over. Even libs like Bill Maher and the Daily Show's Jon Stewart criticize him over everything from handing the economy to his super ego in always having to have his face in the media.

On Youtube Obama used to be invincible. If anyone criticized him there would be 10 posters that would bash the Obama Basher. Now that has flipped. It is 10 to 1 against Obama. From his economic policies to his sissy girl pitch at the Allstar game, Obama's star is getting bashed to a dim light on the net. Just look at the AOL poll numbers. Those are the worst I have ever seen!

Check out REpublicans in Congress. They would give anything to even be close to the President's numbers. BTW, you didn't think he would be nominated or elected either as I recall. Your record is doing too well predicting what will happen with Obama.
I think the bill will pass, possibly before the Aug. recess.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when Bush's numbers plummeted didn't Bush supporters state that when one is making hard decisions one loses popularity?

Odd how the same doesn't apply when someone outside their party is making tough decisions.

Ahhhh....partisanship. The key that keeps common sense locked out!

Only 6 pt lead with all this insane coverage of Obama? How sad. The truth that always haunts Dems is that the survey polls don't always matter but voting polls do. Dems lead in the polls in the last two Presidential elections and we all know what happened then.

When the debates start, Obama will get creamed. Off the prepared speech, Obama is very unpolished and tends to stammer a lot.

I heard tonight the health care bill is losing steam. The percentage of people who want it has dropped. I think the info now coming out about the "rationing" of various medical treatments is eventually going to kill the bill. No one wants the government making those decisions. They need to be left up to your personal physician -- not some government bureaucrat.

the survey polls don't always matter but voting polls do

Posted by utastaff at 2008-07-24 08:18 PM

By the time this bill is done with the 5 committees messing with it--the Bill will be 5,000 pages long.

And no one will know what the heck is in it!

And it still will not address rising health care costs or insurance costs.

It will be the gov't killing jobs and the industry.

"No one wants the government making those decisions."

On the other hand, they seem to welcome the insurance companies and HMOs making those decisions.

...based on what the bean counters decide.

Now THAT's a health care system.

Very few in Canada are in poverty over Medical bills. Medical costs per person are half in Canada what they are here. If medical bills eventually bankrupt me, as they have so many others in the U.S., I'll at least have some comfort in knowing that you are just as likely to be in a similar situation.

Go have your head drained.

#71 | Posted by wisgod

Imagine a country where inflation on healthcare is 3 times the average inflation rate.

Imagine a country where healthcare costs continue to rise 4 times faster than wages.

Imagine a country where over half of all bankruptcies are a direct result of medical bills.

Imagine a country where you can't get insurance because you had a preexisting condition that precludes it. And then, Imagine a country where without insurance you reach a point where you can't receive necessary health care without first giving up ALL of your most financially valuable belongings.

Imagine a country that spends twice as much per person for healthcare as any other country in the in the industrialized world, yet is ranked #30 or worse in quality of healthcare, and also lags behind on life expectancy and child mortality.

You really don't have to imagine such a country. If you live in the U.S. you already live in such a place. Anyone who wouldn't want these issues reformed PROBABLY SHOULD have the excess water drained from their head. That wouldn't be me. I'd like to see these issues resolved. If the obstructionists have a better idea, they should bring it to the table. Gloating over the failures of those trying to solve the problems isn't fixing anything.

Bwhaha. France , Canada. I'll bet the Jews thought health care in the railcars on the tour of Germany was swell in the 40's too.

"Details, details. "

You mean like Americans paying the highest health care costs per capita among indusrial countries? What's with you conservatives anyway? You always count bad things as good things and vice versa. Another example, Americans work more hours in a year and have less vacation weeks than Europeans. This is a good thing? Really? Are you out of your mind?

you would be wrong, as usual.

Interest should drop, it is a stupid idea.

The government should put them all on welfare, whoever is not on insurance, and disembowel the putrid insurance morgan companies.
Dismemeber the global banks and tax everything coming into the us double.

But it aint going to happen, so we will collapse.

What's with you conservatives anyway?

Maybe it's the chance that it would be worse. I'm sure you believe that Goverment is superior when it comes to running entities such as car companies, banks etc. BTW, ask anyone going through foreclosure how well Obama's foreclosure stimulus is working for them. They'd stand a better chance asking their Barber for help.

Um, This is not a solution.

It is just passing a law FORCING everyone to buy some kind of insurance, which, you can bet, is going to get EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE because the insurers now know you HAVE to buy it.

It stinks. If I am wrong tell me how.

Obama doesn't even know key provisions in the bill...

What in the proposal makes you think this will go down?

Ah, there is the crux of the problem. Many people would let the water get over their heads and drown, rather than take a chance and try something new that might solve the problem, like swimming.

I don't like several things about the healthcare proposals in their present form either. I also don't have a lot of confidence that our government won't fuck up the reform but something has to be done. The current system is headed for the edge of a cliff. I'd rather take a chance that we might get something better then we have.

Ah, there is the crux of the problem. Many people would let the water get over their heads and drown, ......

The current system is headed for the edge of a cliff. I'd rather take a chance that we might get something better then we have......

Can you substantiate, in any meaningful way, that there is something wrong with the current system?

And if you try to claim that 40 mil people are uninsured I will punch you in the gut.

"What in the proposal makes you think this will go down?"

Probably won't. A wimpy centrist like Obama isn't going to take on the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. If he picked a fight with them the public would side with him. But he won't, so we'll get some compromise piece-of-shit corporate-friendly health care reform.

"Can you substantiate, in any meaningful way, that there is something wrong with the current system?"

Can you substantiate that your IQ is at least in double figures?

brilliant non-answer, you waste of screen space.

Obama's problem is that they're actually having a debate, and real people have real questions.

What he should have done is just do a redux of the cap-and-trade monstrosity that wasn't even written when the Dumbos approved the thing. Don't even know if that's legal, but it's racist to ask questions like that these days. Just tell the Congress that the bill is being typed up, and demand a vote.

The libtards running Washington would go for that. Again. Can't have anything like transparency or debate take place in a Democratic Republic. Not when we have our first (or is it second?) black president. We're a banana republic now, and when Obama treats Capitol Hill the way they do in Zimbabwe, he always gets what he wants.

Can you substantiate, in any meaningful way, that there is something wrong with the current system?

I know reading the rest of the thread is a lot of wurk for you, so here's a link to post #90.

If you don't believe any of it, use "the googles".

On the one hand you have a well organized, well financed effort to kill health care and coverup fraud and "stimulate" the financial sector. The mixed messages from the left are drowned in a sea of Corporate agenda bullshit. much of it out and out lies. It should surprize no one that Obama is down. He is probably more concerned about 2012, than doing the right thing. But such a result is worse than doing nothing.

my health care premiums have not moved more than about 5% in the past few years

and my company is happy to pay for 50% of my premium.

I also can go to whatever doctor I want whenever I want.
I love my health plan

Your post #90 is a bunch of unsubstantiated garbage, as I said.

why don't you spend some time on "the googles"

and google this:

"what's left typical lib asshole that eats up any and all propaganda from the govt and is a facilitator of government takeover of private industry which is the real driving power behind America's economy - its NOT govt programs"

and also google this

liberal queefs that throw out sytandard buzzwords like "obstructionist" and "climate change" and "homophobe"

I meant #107

Hell, our Senators are opting themselves out of participating....no big surprise there!

Are you trying to saying that the information I presented is not accurate?

private industry which is the real driving power behind America's economy

Sometimes private industry drives America's economy, sometimes private industry damages America's economy. The world is not as absolute as you believe. In the case of healthcare, private insurance and corporations are often working at odds with the general welfare of their customers, for the sake of better profits. I'm sure Rush doesn't explain that side of the issue.

saying=say

my health care premiums have not moved more than about 5% in the past few years

BTW, I think you're full of shit.

I just found out that this year, for the first time, employees at my company are going to have to kick in for our health insurance. My boss has said rates have raised to the point where he will pay what he paid, but the increase will have to come out of our pockets.

roper

everyone loves their American Health Plan until they need an expensive procedure. Only then do you find out that what you thought you had, you ain't got. But, then its too late to do anything about it.

TRUISMS FROM RUSH

since many of you only believe what staterun media says about him

I agree with his opinions and believe his facts..

IN THIS BILL
not only can someone sue the doctor but it allows people to SUE the company who they work for..

SENATOR mcclusky when asked about abortion
from HATCH

"it would include any planned parenthood proceedures that was medically neccessary or appropriate"

LISE>..>THEIRS YOUR ANSWER

RUSH then challenged obama to debate him rather than just read a teleprompter...I wont look for him to accept

ALSO..."lifestyle choices that are considered more at risk than the 'norm' ..that person will pay HIGHER premiums whether they are on private or public plan"

no smoking
no macdonalds
no alcohol
no CASUAL SEX

and the no list could go on as long as the GOVERNMENT WANTED IT TO.....

SO much for the argument that this WONT lose freedoms..

Well...lets see what the lair in Chief has done now..this time Health Care...from the Post.

"President Obama promises that 'if you like your health plan, you can keep it,' even after he reforms our health-care system. That's untrue. The bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to specialists and tests. Two main bills are being rushed through Congress with the goal of combining them into a finished product by August. Under either, a new government bureaucracy will select health plans that it considers in your best interest, and you will have to enroll in one of these 'qualified plans.' If you now get your plan through work, your employer has a five-year 'grace period' to switch you into a qualified plan. If you buy your own insurance, you'll have less time.

"And as soon as anything changes in your contract -- such as a change in copays or deductibles, which many insurers change every year -- you'll have to move into a qualified plan instead (House bill, p. 16-17). When you file your taxes, if you can't prove to the IRS that you are in a qualified plan," and, by the way, "a qualified plan" means approved by Obama. "A qualified plan" here means approved by government. "When you file your taxes, if you can't prove to the IRS that you are in a qualified plan, you'll be fined thousands of dollars -- as much as the average cost of a health plan for your family size -- and then automatically enrolled in a randomly selected plan (House bill, p. 167-168)."

"It's one thing to require that people getting government assistance tolerate managed care, but the legislation limits you to a managed-care plan even if you and your employer are footing the bill (Senate bill, p. 57-58). The goal is to reduce everyone's consumption of health care and to ensure that people have the same health-care experience, regardless of ability to pay

"Nowhere does the legislation say how much health plans will cost, but a family of four is eligible for some government assistance until their household income reaches $88,000 (House bill, p. 137). If you earn more than that, you'll have to pay the cost no matter how high it goes

So much for "No tax increases for people making less than (and again he lied) 250K"

So..all of you that voted for this guy...we said he was a liar..he has proven that, we said he was a socialist..he has proven that. we said he would tax the shit out of you...and he is - with every bill that they pass.....we said he would spend you into oblivion...Tax and Spend Democrats...and what are they doing? Spending like a drunken sailor and now figuring out how to tax you.

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word advice would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as "proof" of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on "Earth Day", would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually "get" what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had sent his wife and daughters on a shopping trip to London on Air Force One, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don 't worry. He's done all this in 5 months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an answer.

MORE HEALTH CARE news

on blogg the other night barry said that if he didnt get HIS way the normal way he could 'back door' health care through........so he is set to remove all of the checks and balances to get this through,..
close your eyes and imagine a republican saying that before any lib here comments..

AND TO another blogger who asked about the part of the bill about THE FACT That if you leave a job or start your own after the bill is law
YOU WILL BE FORCED TO SIGN ONTO THE GOVT PLAN

and barry said...IM "not familiar with that provision"

fuckin liar

Here you go....Public Health care in Action in the UK. Are you sick? Don't call the doctor...call the CALL CENTER!!!!! Nothing like untrained non-professionals to serve you effectively.

FEARS OVER NEW SWINE FLU PHONELINE
The Daily Express, Tuesday July 21st, 2009
(c) 2009 Express Newspapers

Non-medical call centre staff to diagnose illness MILLIONS of Britons were told yesterday not to go to a doctor if they have swine flu but instead ring a new phoneline - manned by staff with no medical training.

As MPs prepared to break for an 82-day summer holiday in the middle of the worst health crisis for decades, Health Secretary Andy Burnham called on the public not to panic.

He said they should use the new emergency National Pandemic Flu Service in a bid to take the pressure off GPs.

Confirming that nine out of 10 NHS regions were now experiencing "exceptional levels" of people exhibiting flu-like symptoms, he announced the new emergency service would "go live" by the end of the week.

As a result, anyone fearing they have the virus should no longer go to their doctor, but first ring a call centre - manned by 1,500 staff - where they will be given advice on their condition.

However, as fear continues to sweep the country following 29 deaths from the H1N1 strain of the virus, the Daily Express has learned that those staffing the new helpline will not have any background in medicine. A spokesman for the Department of Health said: "Agents are not medically trained and will not be able to answer any other questions."

Staff at the call centres - whose location the ministry refused to reveal - will be given some training on how to recognise the signs of the virus from an NHS approved checklist. They will then be able to dish out anti-viral drugs.

The spokesman said: "All call-centre agents will be trained by NHS Direct's personnel. A key aspect of training will be use of the clinically approved diagnostic tool which agents will be following at all times. In practice, they will be helping callers complete the same diagnostic tool that is on the web."

But last night patients' groups attacked the move, saying that using call-centre staff with no medical training could lead to dangerous mistaken diagnoses.

Michael Summers, vice-chairman of the Patients' Association, said: "While we do want to take pressure off GPs at this very difficult time, we also have concerns that these so-called trained staff may not have the ability to recognise the contra-indications of patients taking Tamiflu because they will not have access to the patients' medical records and won't understand the possible dangers."

This could particularly apply to pregnant women, he said.

Well, Barry didn't convince me tonight.

Even though "There's a new breeze blowing across this nation..." and the "stars are aligned" despite I had the "the fierce urgency of now!" and felt "a light will shine down from somewhere, it will light upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will say to yourself, "I have to vote for Barack"'

I just didn't feel it. Sorry Barry, how about some facts and figures.
