Indiana Sen. Richard K. Lugar this morning became the first Republican to pledge support for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, who appears to have largely diffused allegations of judicial bias during three days of intense questioning about whether she is fit to sit on the nation's highest court.

"Judge Sotomayor is clearly qualified . . . and she has demonstrated a judicial temperament during her week-long nomination hearing," Lugar said in a statement. ". . . I will vote to confirm Judge Sonia Sotomayor's nomination to serve as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States."

Joe-there was never any doubt she was in. The hearings were basically a platform for klowns like Jeff SeKKKions to draw some loot from his fellow klansmen, get his tired-ass face on the news and appear relevant. Four days- one day of self-preening by the Committee members, one day of Dems asking her she was so wonderful, one day of the GOPpers asking her how many whiteys she had castrated and one day of GOPpers reminding people they asked her how many whiteys she had castrated and today, photo-ops for the Committee. SeKKKions Ricci was a dud and his anti-choice assklowns like Terry barely got any coverage.
I'm guessing a minimum of 75-80 votes for her confirmation.
