Leon Panetta kills spy program kept secret from Congress

The ongoing tussle between Congress and the CIA deepened Friday as a congresswoman said that CIA Director Leon Panetta had killed an eight-year-long covert spy program that had operated without the knowledge of Congress.

Panetta; 'Yes, senator, we are closing program X as we speak'.

Senator; 'Well, that's just great, blah blah blah. But why did you keep it a secret'?

Panetta; 'I can't tell you that, it's classified'.

Senator; 'You can tell me dammit, I'm a U.S. senator!!. I demand to know!!!'

Panetta; 'Is this right, you like fuzzy slippers'?

Senator; 'gotta go'..(click).....

Panetta; (to assistant) 'Make ready the transfer of all data from Project X to Project Y. And remember, this project is double-secret secret. I can't even tell you if I told you'.

Assistant; 'About what, sir'?

Panetta; 'Damn, you're good.'
