Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

In an interview that aired this week on MSNBC, conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks said that during a dinner, a Republican senator manhandled him. "They're all emotional freaks of one sort or another," he said of politicians. "They're guaranteed to invade your personal space, touch you. I sat next to a Republican senator once at dinner and he had his hand on my inner thigh the whole time. I was like, ehh, get me out of here."

Brooks said that he has "spoken to a lot of young women who are Senate staffers and they'll have these middle age guys who are sort of in the middle of a mid-life crisis. Emotionally needy, they don't know how to do it and sort of like these St. Bernards drooling everywhere."

An old roommate who was a Hill staffer had darkly funny stories about the Clarence Thomas/ Anita Hill days. Women staffers were getting a kick watching their bosses try to figure out what the problem was -- they knew Thomas's behavior was no worse than stuff they did on a regular basis.

O'DONNELL: Can I ask one other question David? Do you think, what about female or women politicians? Are they dignified and are there examples of when they have not? Or does it tend to be the men who less dignified?

BROOKS: Yeah, I wish I could think of sort of St. Bernards, sloppy women who are licking their aides, but but no, I can't think of any.

Lol. I was half-kidding the other day when I suggested that men are unfit to hold office...

Very Funny video well worth the minute and a half..

I used to worry that my daughters would date out-of-work artists with tats and piercings. Now it sounds like senators and governors are a more serious threat.

Brooks is a punk. He said the senator had his hand on Brooks inner thigh "the whole time" at a dinner. Hello! What guy would like another man continue to have his hand on his thigh period much less his inner thigh unless he enjoyed it!!!!!

If the senator bent him over and went at it would Brooks just take it? I think yes!

Could be, he is a conservative..

any guesses who the jack off is? hatch, craig, cornyn?

for the entire dinner, which begs the question, why didn't he say something?

"which begs the question, why didn't he say something?"

Well...um...well, Brooks is a Republican....

"any guesses who the jack off is? hatch, craig, cornyn?"

Oh, Ok. Just didn't want to assume that only Republicans can be letchers.

lott, mcconell, MCCAIN??!!??

Anything! Colunists will do anything to make their roladex the most valuable in the office.

And we Republicans wonder why we're in the wilderness right now?

only when it suits him.
during the election, he showed how little of a conservative he was.

What, by supporting Obama? No conservatives supported Obama? Maybe you should read some news, look at some stats. Or simply talk to my father, who is a real conservative (not a reactionary warmonger fearmonger xenophobe).

if I watched more news or read more I wouldnt have time for anything else..

good for your dad but dont slam me in the process

Do you think, what about female or women politicians? Are they dignified and are there examples of when they have not?

Kathleen Harris pawing that congressman on CSPAN comes to mind.

No conservatives supported Obama?

My Mom is old-school conservative Repub.

When McCain chose Palin, she decided on Obama.

Give her a break, that was the roofies talking.

Beware of the over-privileged/entitled. I put myself through school tending bar and waiting tables in places that ranged from a borderline-seedy bar to upscale snooty French restaurant. (Supposedly liberal) academia is unparalleled for its sexual harassment, and wealthy businessmen were much harder to deal with than construction workers; the wealthy businessmen thought you should be honored by their attention.
