Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

In his first start since a two-week banishment to the bullpen, Jonathan Sanchez (4-8) threw a no-hitter for the San Francisco Giants against the San Diego Padres Friday night and was one error from a perfect game. Sanchez, 26, struck out 11 and walked none. The Giants won 8-0. It was the first no-hitter by the Giants in 33 years. He had never pitched a complete game or a shutout before.

I think it is harder to allow a hit the Padres lineup than it is to throw a no hitter against them. THEY SUCK!

In all seriousness, great game by Sanchez to no hit an opponent is a very impressive achievement no matter who you are playing.

I wonder if Tony Gwynn Jr. is more excited about the no-no or more disappointed about being the guy who made the error and ruined the perfect game.

Sanchez, who had a five-start winless stretch in which he went 0-4, carried a perfect game into the eighth inning before third baseman Juan Uribe booted a routine grounder by Chase Headley for an error.

Pussy

Should have taken lessons from Senator Bunning he pitched a perfect game on June 21, 1964.

On June 26th Tony Gwynn Jr. hit his 1st home run only to give up a run due to an error later in the game. Guy might be jinxed.

Sanchez was filthy.

Not being much of a sports fan, I find it interesting that a game where one team has no hits, is considered entertaining.

Yeah...I meant Uribe, not Gwynn. Gwynn made an error on the Pad's sides.

What makes a no-hitter great is the tension. Every single pitch or play in the field can ruin it. By the time the ninth inning rolls around, the crowd is bonkers.

Absolutely.

The last no-hitter I watched was in 2007 - it was Justin Verlander (Detroit Tigers) and I started watching in the 7th inning. It was intense.

bball...pffft.

where are all the dirty sanchez jokes?

As a life long suffering GIANT fan, an a Puerto Rican congrats to Mr. Sanchez, the Giants may just have the best young arms in all of baseball. Jonathan is or has been at best the Giants #5 in the rotation. GOOD JOB!!!!!

Resting comfortably on your upper lip.

an a Puerto Rican congrats to Mr. Sanchez

Yeah, what if he was white?

Fuck him,right?

Why did you bring race into it for?

Racist.

rwd

By the way, I wouldn't be so quick to state my nationality if I were you.

You give Puerto Ricans a bad name.

rwd

Also, rice to fish you probably think New Haven is racist because one of your own was to dumb to pass the firefighter test.

Right?

rwd

So a Puerto Rican isn't allowed to enjoy the fact that one of his own threw a no hitter? I wouldn't be upset if an angry crank threw one and you celebrated.

There are plenty of angry cranks in sports and I love them all.
Besides Rcade, the things I'm angry about are the things you accept.
Hypocrisy is not one of them.
