"The IG report said an unnamed White House official inserted a paragraph into the first threat assessment prepared by the CIA after the Sept. 11 attacks, which was used to justify the extraordinary intelligence measures."

Naw! Say it ain't so!

investigate. prosecute. convict. Watch out Bushies. Judgment Day is coming.

Bush was spying on our enemy??? Throw the SOB in jail, he can't do that. It's not nice to spy on your enemy.

No - he was spying illegally on American citizens.

Sniper and SA, that's easy to sort out. Bush's enemies included American citizens. Valerie Plame for example.

sno, WTF are you babling about? Nobody was spying on val. Two of BHOs supporters(the black general and dick) blew the whisle on her.

It never ceases to amaze me how easily people give up their rights. The bu$h admin was as close as any in history to the tactics of the nazis. Fascism seeps in like dark water.

This is an amazing report. First, it has Bush circumventing Ashcroft, second it has the WH generating the pretense for the program with fabrication and then cites the fabrication as justification for the program.

The biggest stunner IMHO: Bush constantly cited how this program was necessary to keep us safe - and there hasn't been a single incident, nothing prevented, no one prosecuted, no actionable intelligence that lead to anything that kept us safe.

This entire program was, at best, a farce, and was clearly an extension of the power of the Government. It was completely unnecessary and is against the principles of the United States of America.

nothing to see here folks - - - keep the line moving

fill your soup cup & move along . . .

you may pick up your welfare check & government vodka at the designated location

thank you - - and have your identification papers ready

ps - the gov checks may not be honored until a later date

"The Bush administration authorized secret surveillance activities that still have not been made public,"

That is because Obama is doing the same as well as expanding the program.

It appears that our Congress will do nothing about this clear violation of our Constitution, hopefully the Spanish or the World Court will bring charges against the Bush administration for War Crimes.....These criminals need to be brought to Justice, History will surely take care of these Fucks, but we need some home grown Justice NOW!!!

We all should know by now that this rabbit hole runs deep!

I'm waiting for the hookah-smoking caterpillar to pop up on MSNBC.

WE TOLD YOU.

bush and obama have done far worse than nixon. So where is the outrage eh?

Don't pretend anything has changed. This is still happening. Remember all of those "slippery slope" discussions?

Celery always brings us something fun from the vegetable cart. Now, our favorite turnip thinks the Spanish or the World Court can enforce the U.S. Constitution.

NSA is still doing it under Obama-been-lie'n...

HERE IS one part of our intelligence section that is crying out for some sort of closure on..

Like the Patriot Act and Bankruptcy Law revisions, these documents and policies were formed before Shrub took office, waiting for their big chance, which SCOTUS provided.

Shrub's wiretapping program is basically an extension of the enormous backdoor powers his Father carries as ex-director of the CIA and ex-President. The purpose is to catch opposing powerful people in compromising situations and force their compliance to the Bush Crime Families crooked schemes. This is how J. EDgar Hoover held his high position longer than any other bureaucrat in US history.

Blackmail is the aim of Shrub's wiretapping program. 9-11 came 9 months later, with Shrub Asleep at the Wheel, as usual.

George W. Bush. What a fucking asshole.

Damn, I'm a funny guy,

No.

You're not.

One whole article that says NOTHING! What a waste of print and TIME! There was NO law, now there is, he got CONGRESS off their proverbial 'FAT ASSES' to do what should have been done twenty - thirty years ago!

It wasn't perfect, but it can now be modified, WHAT, WHAT was that, NO ONE HAS CHANGED IT YET? How can that be, they're in power now!

And what's this? Obama's using the same arguments Bush did, and you're not BITCHING about it? Why? What the FUCK! It was so bad two years ago, why is it SO GOOD now? Fucking HIPOCRYTS!

It appears that our Congress will do nothing about this clear violation of our Constitution,

I guess you know all the details of this secret program so you can make that statement. The only thing that is clear to me is you start your fingers to typing without knowing anything.

From the queen of uninformed opinion.

From the article" "IGs pointedly say that any continued use of the secret programs must be "carefully monitored."

So the programs are still in effect and Obama has not stopped it. Apparently it is bad under Bush but okay under Obama as long as it is carefully monitored. Give me an f'ing break!

According to you, it was fine under Bush and now a sign of the apocalypse.

Give Me Liberty, Or Give Me Death!

Sincerely

Not Todays "republican"

Where are the journalistic Woodwards and Bernsteins of this generation to uncover this sort of underhandedness by government? Oh, they were too busy making up the invitation list to the Washington Post soiree with the Obama acolytes and the media for what, a mere $25K?

The last watchdog for a free republic, a free press, now is no longer free but offering admission for $25,000. Printing slanted stories against Repubs--what, $40,000? Fawning stories about the Messiah and making up polling stats to show he IS a Messiah--how about $1 million? The WaPo prices go up from there. Exclusive access to snifff his undershorts, $2 million, but get in line behind Barney Frank and his, well, supporters. JC, can it get any more corrupt than this? Answer, you haven't seen anything yet with these dipshits in power.....
