Burris repeatedly changed his story about the circumstances of his appointment, first claiming he never offered anything to Blagojevich, then admitting he tried -- and failed to raise money for the then-governor.

A wiretap that was released later showed Burris bartering with Robert Blagojevich, the former governor's brother and a top adviser.

What's to know? Lying POS trying to buy his position. Only an idiot like Santoadio or Danforth would defend him (4..3..2..1..)

Spud you are way off base - this is not about race at all.

Politicians from IL tend to be very corrupt compared to most other states.

It is too bad there are not more africans in the Senate. But to appoint corrupt Black men to congress JUST becasue they are black is mere tokenism.

I remember ALL of the DR pretty much found the manner of appointment distasteful, but the Left of view were far more appalled.
