"Say goodbye to future of GOP
Just when I thought it wasn't safe to turn on the TV last week, lest I be transported back to a bizarro "Groundhog Day" world of morbid, nonstop, ad nauseam Michael Jackson coverage, with the same stock video footage playing over and over and over, day after day after day, on every network, Gov. Sarah Palin emerged to provide comic relief.
It's hard to imagine that Palin could outdo anything she's done before to appear ridiculous, but when she decided to bail out as governor of Alaska, and announced it by delivering a jumbled, rambling, confusing speech, that was so rampant with incoherent babble, senseless analogies, gibberish, nonsense, paranoia, and non sequiturs, I had the feeling I was watching Tina Fey doing her impersonation. I had to double-check the channel to make certain I was tuned to CNN and not to a biting satire on Comedy Central.
With this latest absurd oration, Palin sealed the deal and confirmed she's been living in territory way beyond her pay-level ever since John McCain selected her as his running mate.
After listening to her, one can only assume that most of our nation is again breathing a big sigh of relief that Palin's overreaching delusional pipe dream of becoming vice president of the United States was thwarted -- a position for which she, among all possible contenders, was, and still is, uniquely unqualified."
