This isn't a repub or demo thing. Typically somebody didn't want to do it any more and the guy or gal is looking for affection elsewhere. I think the other person knows that. That's why they stick around for a while. The cost and stigma of divorce is often too high.

OK, here's the thing. Normally, who cares? But the repulsicans have placed themselves in a very embarrassing position here. They have placed themselves on the Moral High Ground. Claiming they are "holier than thou" and throwing stones any time a democrat gets caught with his pants down. They hounded Mr. Clinton unmercifully and have claimed they are the "Moral Majority". And then something like this blows up in their faces. Ensign is a perfect example of repulsican hypocrisy. He writes this smarmy letter to his lover, filled to the brim with religion and confession - and then calls her to tell her to IGNORE the thing and off they go on their merry way, completely uncaring about the lives they are disrupting, the feelings of their children, HIS constituents. It is revolting because of the total hypocrisy.

If this had been the script for a television show, who would believe it? LOL! They all belong on Jerry Springer, throwing punches.

And apparently per a report today, VERY conservative Senator Tom Coburn (Oklahoma) knew about the affair for at least a year, and was the one who urged his friend Sen. Ensign to pay off the woman and her husband.
