Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Even after her resignation, Sarah Palin is a fave of the GOP faithful. A nationwide USA Today/Gallup Poll finds two-thirds of Republicans want her to be "a major national political figure" in the future. And 71% count themselves as likely to vote for her for president in 2012. Among Democrats and Independents she remains a loser.

Sarah!

I find this really hard to believe. Most people I talk to think she is an idiot.

It's a Mandate!

Further proof the GOP is in a footrace to irrelevancy.

Well if you spend all your time here, what do you expect?

I just don't understand why most Republicans discard intelligence when evaluating potential leadership.

They go so far as to seek a lack of it in their elected officials.

Why?

Many,

I think the popularity of Palin is 2-fold:

1. Her conservative values, particularly in regards to limited government and seriuosly taking on corruption, even in her own party.

2. The notion of an every-day Joe running a successful campaign for governor against career politicians.

In a lot of ways it's not so much her - it's what she symbolizes. The American voter is very superficial, often going for form over substance, as evidenced by our current resident in the White House.

The notion of an every-day Joe

That is exactly what mean.

We are talking about the President of the United States. It is NOT a fucking job for the Average Joe.

Republicans striving for mediocrity is the problem.

We are talking about the President of the United States. It is NOT a fucking job for the Average Joe.

I agree, and ultimately, I don't think she'd win the GOP primary if she decides to run.

We are talking about the President of the United States. It is NOT a fucking job for the Average Joe.

That was my biggest concern with Obama - not that he's some average Joe (he isn't), that he had almost no leadership experience to speak of. That he beat out both McCain and Hillary is a testament to my earlier point - American voters tend to be superficial.

that he had almost no leadership experience to speak of. That he beat out both McCain and Hillary is a testament to my earlier point

Who do you think led those efforts?

I was talking about intelligence. You switched it to experience.

Yeah, I moved the goalposts.

However, it was your indignation, rightfully so, that POTUS is not the job for an average Joe. I took that theme and applied it to Obama - we should have gotten a more impressive resume that what he brought to the table. It IS POTUS, afterall.

I read resumes for a living. Obama's was the best in the bunch. Experience is overrated. What one needs to be able to find in a resume is potential.

As a Democrat, I was concerned that after the shellacking the GOP took in November, they would start easing up on the hating they have been doing since Clinton's presidency and formulate a positive message that will once again endear them to the rational voter who wants this country to prosper.

Fortunately, that does not seem to be happening.

That he beat out both McCain and Hillary is a testament to my earlier point - American voters tend to be superficial.

See GWB as an example. Sarush was inserted into Mctoasts's campaign to appeal to the superficial. She may be superficial and noit to bright, but she's full of Jayzuuz juice. Voters may be superficial, but they ain't stupid.

He beat out Hillary thanks to the GOP's long running Clinton-hate fest which soured her brand. He beat out Mccain thanks to the GOp's subservience to the evanjihadists who forced a Palin on him. That and McToast's loyalty to a really unpopular FAILED President.

I agree, and ultimately, I don't think she'd win the GOP primary if she decides to run.

I am not so sure about that. Where the votes are only republican voters--she may have more than enough.

She likely would not win in states like NH.

She has the "It" factor. If Romney could get it--he would have bought it already.

I would like her to wait until 2016 to run--go do her book, help the party members with campaigning and collect IOU's at the same time.

She can voice what is really important to her--and learn whatever she needs to --to gain/win over more of the independents. She can gain with the Dems as well--but there will always be the 25% that totally hate her.

NEWS FLASH .... BRAINDEAD FUCKS STILL LIKE BRAINDEAD FUCK!!!

This floater's time is way past. Keep flushing, the turd has to go down the drain eventually.

"Go do her book"

Yeah Muffy. Maybe she can tell us why she did an "Ankles Up!" for the Toddster's business partner.

I forgot...

Family Values!!

"She can voice what is really important to her--and learn whatever she needs to"

YEAH!

She Can Start With Learning Proper English!

"She has the "It" factor."

Now I know why tigers eat their young.

"Redneck"

n. Offensive Slang.
1.Used as a disparaging term for a member of the white rural laboring class, especially in the southern United States.
2.A white person regarded as having a provincial, conservative, often bigoted attitude

"n. Offensive Slang."

Clearly, you do not know any real rednecks.

Ok 70% of Repubs would vote for her in 2012 yet 54% of likely voters would not vote for her. What does that tell you?

C'mon ....Isn't someone going to parrot Bill Kristol and say that "the left is simply afraid of her'.

I'm a skeered of Sayruh!

Seriously, a governor who resigns because the media offended her is not a good candidate for any national office.

She proved she can't take the heat, and she left the kitchen.

OK, that's fine, but don't come back looking for more responsibility when you just shucked what you had.

Personally, I think she quit so she can cash in on her popularity with the base. Some kind of media presence is almost a given, unless there really are big skeletons about to exit the closet.

My bet is Fox News hires her for comedy relief.

"Some kind of media presence is almost a given..."

I think she'd make a dandy televangelist. Middle-of-the-road attractive, folksy-sounding, and loves to tell other people that she thinks they should do.

This alone should ensure she never gets close to nomination:

"The Earth is only 6,000 years old."
-Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is an uneducated fool. Just the type that the REDNECK, ONE TOOTH Republicans love, 70% like her I think she should be concerned if she is planning to run for National office, it should be higher that 70%.....I'm begging you though "RUN SARAH RUN", How about Sarah/Joe the Plumber for 2012??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HA!!!! I'm Fucking Begging you!!!!!

Damn, CELISARY just posted what I wanted to say!

Except that there are a lot of Republicans with non-red necks and several teeth who will balk at voting for trailer trash when it comes right down to it. Even attractive trailer trash.

$787 Billion reasons why Obama is a ONE TERMER! Can't get there from here. $38,000.00 per citizen in DEBT!

She was unknown and made a hell of a name for herself in short order. She has nothing to stop her from being in everyone's face for the next three years AND make a ton of bucks to support her and the family. It's all your fault!

You bitch, they look, they like what they see, you bitch some more, she gets paid just to show up! Thank you for your concern! Just exactly who's the IDIOT here? Not HER! YOU made her RICH!

Obama screwed up by allowing Pelosi and Ried to set the agenda! They should have done Health Care and Cap and Tax before the Stimulus. It would all have fallen into place and we'd have been screwed BEFORE getting the KISS! KISS, WHAT KISS?

The difference between trailer trash and Joe Biden is MINIMAL! Our spokesman to the world can't get ONE sentence straight! SECOND STIMULUS ANYONE? ANYONE?

they would start easing up on the hating they have been doing since Clinton's presidency

That's really special coming from a dumbfuck that voted for the verbally-crippled boozehound that took a $3 trillion shit in the Iraqi sandbox.

Eventually Republicans will come to their senses and rebuild their party into something that is again electable at a national level. The longer they waste their time on Palin and indulge themselves with puerile invective against the President and the party that thrashed them at the ballot box the longer it will take.

Palin's "seriuosly (sic) taking on corruption, even in her own party" is a little like Hitler's seriously taking on the problems of German anti-semitism. herm

The fact that 75% of you d-bags don't want her to represent us conservatives is enough to make me want her to.

Great rationale! Are you that much of a simple minded lemming or is this just your online persona?

54% of Americans are mouth breathing monkeys who we should trade for hard working Mexicans?

Hey Douche Rat, I have about 60 iq points on you.

Where do you get your 'figures' about Palin being a moron?

Palin has lost the trust of the people, that will never be gained back......end of story.

The fact that people like murphy continue to push her convinces me they get paid to be here. No one would be that unrational.

Hey Douche Rat, I have about 60 iq points on you.

Let's take her flying back to alaska when little Trig was trying to claw his way out of her used up cooze.

But I guess compared to you and whatever cum bucket you live with Palin looks like a genius. Perspective is everything.

I am a god and you are nasty little chunk of filth.

Be glad I acknowledged your asinine stupidity, and realize this is the biggest day of your blog life.

It's the last time.

I am a god and you are nasty little chunk of filth.

LOL!

Must work with the retarded!

You're a real testament to the US Army Zeitgeist.

Did you serve in the army Prozacboi?

What was your MOS and when did you serve?

I always enjoy chewing it with a fellow grunt.

No response?

I thought you were an expert on what it means to be in the Army.

I mean, you were spouting off and such, it sounded like you knew what fellow army veterans, both left and right, thought about my service to country.

The problem is that you don't and can't think troll.
My statement stands.
Grow up.

So you don't speak for anyone who served in the US Army?

Hahahaha, where do they find these punks?

OK Zitdick!

We get it. You served in the Army.

I guess every branch of the military has had a Gomer Pyle.

You were the Army's.

Go SARAH!

YOU BETCHA!!

A BIGGER idiot than BUSH was.

JUST what the country needs right now.

No Shit! Palin is the female version of Bush.. which is fucking scary shit. Clearly we are horrible about learning lessons of the past. If Bush was able to get elected twice, military avoiding, silver spoon in mouth daddies little party boy... of course we are dumb enough to elect gun toting, runway walking, conservative ditz women!

We are talking about the President of the United States. It is NOT a fucking job for the Average Joe. -- #8 | Posted by Manypaths

I have mixed feelings about this. The urban elite candidates we keep electing keep robbing the store. Would be great to have a president who puts ordinary people ahead of bankers, and she has a proven record of fighting corruption.

Dismissing Palin as stupid is, well, just plain stupid -- she took down Murkowski, Stevens and Don Young. More importantly, she has a remarkable ear for the latte liberal elitism that has been driving blue collar workers (and the rest of us who care about them) away from the Democratic Party.

She's no less knowledgeable than Obama was in his early days of the primary campaign. (A law degree doesn't require any knowledge of economics or foreign policy, and Obama proved over and over again he knew nothing about either one.) She's nowhere near the public speaker he is though, doesn't BS well, and didn't get 2 years to work on her chops before getting daily prime-time coverage.

Hard to guess whether she can overcome being pushed into the national spotlight too early, but that's the issue -- not her intelligence or competence.

#60 | Posted by Phoenix

Palin proved to be woefully inadequate when it came to national and international issues.

She certainly built an impressive resume at an Alaskan level.

Can she become a player at a national level?

Not sure.

If she has any hope of doing so she needs to bone-up on the bigger picture. Her interview with Couric was an unmitigated disaster.

She's nowhere near the public speaker he is though

I stronly disagree with you on this. She is an extremely effective public speaker. She's not on the same level as Obama, but, nevertheless, she is an impactful speaker.

So let's summerize:

1) The democrats have elected a clown to the United States Senate.

2) A democrat US Congress Woman has introduced a bill honoring a pervert.

3) Your democrat administration says the reason the economy is still going in the toilet is the stimulus was "too small" and the government needs to spend more.

and you democrats have your panties in a wad over Sarah Palin?

A law degree doesn't require any knowledge of economics or foreign policy, and Obama proved over and over again he knew nothing about either one.

I don't think we should hold it against him that he wasn't born in Alaska and spent his entire life keeping watch over the horizon for the Rus horde.

If she has any hope of doing so she needs to bone-up on the bigger picture.

Absolutely. But the same was true of Obama. (Still is, in many areas, but he's a slick BS'er, is better managed, and knows now which areas he can't talk about unscripted.)

Her interview with Couric was an unmitigated disaster. -- #61 | Posted by JeffJ

Oh yeah. That's what I mean when I say it's hard to guess whether she can recover from being pushed into the national spotlight too early.

She is an extremely effective public speaker

She's Bush with tits.

And Phoenix, she wasn't pushed.

She jumped.

Yeah. He's got an Ivy League education, and when asked in the New Hampshire debate how he'd deal with the problems in Pakistan, his advice was to strengthen the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. This was less than a month after Bhutto's assassination. How could Pakistan not be on his radar screen? Having claimed work on nuclear non-proliferation as his foreign policy specialty, how could he not know Pakistan had not signed it, and that signing it would be irrelevant anyway if Pakistan became a failed state (which was the concern he seemed to be unaware of)?

He condemned Bush's invasion of Iraq, wrapping himself in the mantle of international law, but said he'd invade Pakistan to get bin Laden. (He made it clear he didn't understand how this was different from the operations being conducted at the time -- which involved coordination with Pakistan and permission from the Paki government.)

He gave Israel the green light for the Gaza massacre with brain-dead off-the-cuff comments he made while visiting there.

He echoed approvingly comments by... hmmm... I think it was T. Boone Pickens... that revealed ignorance of even introductory economics. Paraphrased, they were something like "the trick is to let the economy play out and tax people later." He had no inkling that people respond to tax incentives regardless of when the taxes are actually collected.

A month or so after the gas tax fiasco became the turning point in the primary campaign, he introduced a gas tax plan that was similar to -- but not nearly as sound as -- the Clinton plan he both mischaracterized and ridiculed. Remarkably, the media gave him a free pass. It got 10 minutes or so of scathing commentary from NPR, and I never heard it mentioned again.

Look, he's a wonderful figurehead. I marvel at the grace with which he handles foreign dignitaries, and unless Palin can be kept from the GOP's belligerent xenophobes and coached by the Powell wing instead, I worry about the tone her foreign policy would take.

But I also marvel at how Obama managed to get an Ivy League education without learning even basics of economics or international relations. Says a lot about his priorities, and means that Palin is no less knowledgeable than he was when he began his primary campaign.

I don't buy this at all. 71%? If she does run she will not make it thru the primaries. I will bet my next paycheck on it. There is no way she will win the nomination for candidate for president. I have a lot of respect for Palin but I do not like her as a candidate. She makes a good governor and that's it. I hope she realizes this and saves us all the time.

She makes a good governor and that's it.

She's far from ready now. I'm curious to see where she is in 2-6 years, though. A couple years before she became governor, no one would have guessed she could handle that job.

and you democrats have your panties in a wad over Sarah Palin?

#62 | Posted by FreddyK

It's simple Freddy. They are deathly afraid of her and are desperately trying to sabotage her. Yes, I will agree that she made some mistakes during the Presidential campaign, but that race was decided before she joined.

The Democrats will have to accept that Obama and Biden made just as many mistakes during and after the election, but no one cares because mostly the MSM suppressed it.

The very bottom line is the Palin is capable of running in the next election and winning. THE DEMS KNOW THIS! The Palin-hating is much like Hilary-hating and you see clearly the desperation on the Left.

The short story, in my humble opinion, is that Palin won't be running for Prez, but will be running for Senate.

I just thought of something! LOL! What if she took a job with some of the oil and gas energy concerns in the world and is becoming the anti-AlGore! LOL!!! She will kick his ass all over the world... LOL.

"They are deathly afraid of her and are desperately trying to sabotage her"

She needs no help.

Trust me, the left is praying you run Palin.

And it's not like they pray under usual circumstances.

I still can't get over how RCade was pushing this American flag misuse. LOL!!!!

Just another example of desperation.

Trust me, the left is praying you run Palin.

And it's not like they pray under usual circumstances.

#71 | Posted by Danforth

LOL.

Just like Hilary, huh? What's she doing now?

LOL!!!

The Left is either over-confident, like the above post from Danforth, or desperate, like the Flag-misuse issue.

I'm sitting on the sidelines. Palin is too Republican for me, I'm Conservative and in the modest sense of the word. I don't like war to expand the empire and want to take it down along with the banks.

"The Left is either over-confident, like the above post from Danforth, or..."

...or the right is delusional, thinking the country will elect a ditz.

A couple years before she became governor, no one would have guessed she could handle that job.

#69 | Posted by Phoenix at 2009-07-09 10:41 AM

She COULDN'T handle it!

She quit!

She's far from ready now. I'm curious to see where she is in 2-6 years, though. A couple years before she became governor, no one would have guessed she could handle that job.

#69 | Posted by Phoenix

She's been dismissed her entire career; yet, here she is.

Who knows.

Maybe she is finished.

However, the DNC is rabidly stupid if they assume so.

Also, don't underestimate the effect that the absolute savaging she has received at the hands of the MSM in regards to public percepetion. Believe it or not, this extreme bias has worked in her favor.

"The Left is either over-confident, like the above post from Danforth, or desperate, like the Flag-misuse issue."

Danforth spends a lot of time talking out of his ass even though his mouth knows better. Actually, Romney leads Palin in republican polls at this time.

Is the Alzheimer's bothering you today? You should probably re-check your meds. Today is THURSDAY. See if you can match the letters I posted to the box with all the little colored pills, and make sure you've taken all of them.

Geez!

It won't take her long to improve her speaking skills to Obama's level. Anyone can read a teleprompter. We've seen Obama without one.

We've seen Biden without one!

first observation: The Left does not like Palin's Political Philosophy! The will tear her down at every word. Very effectively done by the MSM.

second observation: I don't think she's going for 2012. She'll be running for Senate. Since Congress will be taken back in 2010 and more so in 2012, it's not necessary for a Republican to win the Whitehouse in 2012. Obama will be ineffective.

The only problem with the last observation is that Congress will not have the power to reverse the damage done in the last 6 months and damage being planned and rammed through the system.

"Where did I say anything to the contrary, old man?"

Where did I say you did? Paranoia setting in? I was merely reciting a poll. You need to seek help for that optiorectumitis too.

"Where did I say you did"

You followed a dig at me with the statement about Romney. Do you understand the basic tenets of sentence structure and context, or not?

(Why am I arguing with an addled Alzheimer's patient?!?)

I agree. Seeming smart people making a big deal out of nothing.

Let's put it in perspective. Imagine Biden with Conservative values. They would crucify him and he would not have a career in politics.

better perspective: Imagine Obama with Conservative values! You'd hear things like, "Black on White, don't make it Right". i.e. Condi Rice. Case Closed!!

You see how the Left is shallow and hypocritical?

The nation is tired of it already.

"You followed a dig at me with the statement about Romney."

I suppose it doesn't register on you that the Romney statement was a totally separate sentence and YOU weren't the subject. I don't have to have a "dig" at you in EVERY sentence I write, do I? That paranoia is becoming more and more evident.

I love it! Over confident.

Do you have ANY evidence to the contrary?

Would that be like the family values SC GOP deciding to keep Mark Sanford as Gov?

Or like quitting as Gov midway thru your term?

I get so confused about what are Conservative values.

"Do you have ANY evidence to the contrary?"

How about from a sitting Republican Congressman?

"...if the tea leaves that I read are correct, we will wind up with about 36 [Republicans Senators] after this election cycle."

Past trends do show a shift to the right coming in the 2010 election...how far a shift depends on how Obama does, but there is little doubt in my mind that the GOP will gain seats in 2010 and 2012.

The way the races lay out demographically, I predict a net gain of 6-10 GNoP'ers in the house and 1-2 in the Senate.

Or like quitting as Gov midway thru your term?

LOL!

One reason to quit was to reduce the millions of Alaska state money the Left are spending to "investigate" her. ALL of which have come up with absolutely nothing :)

Her quitting would simply save state money.

Actually, The Republicans don't need to take back majority.

There are plenty of Democrats who are waking up and standing up against this President! The trend is to watch one's step and not be too far to the Left.

"Good try. No one even knows who is running. "

But we all know who's defending.

"Again, any evidence to the contrary?"

You wouldn't take it straight from the horse's mouth. Why should I waste more time? Obviously you weren't looking for evidence.

ALL of which have come up with absolutely nothing :)

Not quite - one of them resulted in her having to pay back taxes on travel/per diem reimbursements for her and her family.

I'm not saying Democrats are perfect, cuzz lord
knows they are not....but at least they TRY to
fix the messes that they create...and they
often admit when they are wrong as well...
not always...but enough of the time...

Republicans on the other hand, seem to dwell
eternally in DENIALSVILLE...

Yes, if she stays in political life, the investigations will continue. It's a very good tool to get dumbass Americans to believe that she did something wrong. But, to date, they've found nothing.

Now, since she quit, she can fight back without reservation! And she can be a polite and caustic adversary as we saw with Letterman. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Letterman is still hurting from that one.

The problem is not the President IMHO, but the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader- they are "old school us versus them" politicians and they will never ever even listen to anything coming from anyplace even a little right of them.

California is the only place that can save this nation- STOP ELECTING PELOSI

And she can be a polite and caustic adversary as we saw with Letterman. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Letterman is still hurting from that one.

Letterman won that exchange in the eyes of most people. She came across as pathetic as when Obama took on Limbaugh.

Letterman is still hurting from that one.

Are you KIDDING? You mean from the nearly 2 dozen protesters who showed up for the big "Fire Letterman" rally in front of the studio.

Yeah boy, that scared the bejeezus out of him.

So much so that he has absolutely shredded her for the last 3 nights running.

Eddie apparently missed the part where many of the investigations were started by Alaskan GNOP'ers.

His naivete being less cute than vapid.

-You're not confused, you just think that very large government is the way to go.

I don't. Nuff said.

In a government that is supposed to be of, by, and for the people, limiting the power of the people only creates a vacuum which is eagerly occupied by special corporate interests.

Of course, if you have given up on that ideal, then you could be correct. I just haven't given up on it.

Nothing like hedging your bets, eh?

#99 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

no, just observations.

The White House is far to the Left. Congress believe him and voted in the failed stimulas. Congress will be watching their step from now on.

Cap&Trade, I'm hoping will die. It could pass, but be some mutated piece of crap that will just be like a missle that brings the economy to it's knees. If Cap&Trade passes, it's bad for the Dems in Congress. If it dies? It's an Obama failure, i.e. Rush's wishes.

The Health Bill. Now, this one is good for the Dems. I trust that Congress will come up with a piece of shit, but the Senate will modify it to something really good. I have a good feeling about it. This will make the Dems look good and it will make Obama successful again. The nation is looking for change here, but will not take Obama's Universal Plan and will not take "no change", either. Somethings got to happen.

So, it's not hedging it's an observation.

The White House is too far to the Left, the House are just a bunch of followers, not leaders, but the Senate is moving toward the center again.

-Letterman is still hurting from that one

Dave was going on just last night about how sexy Sarah's waders were. Of course, he apologized immediately, lmao.

I don't watch him anymore. He uses his show as a political pulpit. He's so far to the Left, I don't think he's funny anymore.

All I know is that he was brought down a few notches after he went too far.

I think Palin saw it as an opportunity and took it; played it to its fullest.

I started to feel sorry for Letterman. Letterman will never recover from this beating.

The late-night ratings race continues to evolve, with CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" notching its first total-viewer victory over NBC's "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien." Letterman had not logged a weekly victory over "The Tonight Show" since 2005.

"Hurting" Eddie calls this.

See why I consider you to be a fucking moron Eddie? Just a stupid fucking loudmouth?

You don't?

If nothing else, the last several posts do show that in spite of being spectacularly uninformed and inane, Eddie IS the master of moving the goal posts all over the field.

Yes, Letterman will continue to milk the Sarah Palin joke for all it is worth and continue to use that joke of a woman to increase his ratings and income.

Beating? Letterman kept HIS job.

You are either retarded or delusional. Not sure which so I'll just laugh at both.

Do you really want me to tell you how unimportant the race between Conan and Letterman is?

LOL.

You are so base that you think I'm retarted because I don't follow late-night television. LOL!!! What a moron.

Try and think (a little) outside the box.

Funniest Letterman line right after she bailed out...

"Was it something I said?"

Retarded AND delusinal. I.E. the typical DR Rtard.

But, you have to admit, that Letterman lost a great deal of respect over this. This is what I call an ass-kicking.

being drawn down to this level

Oh well, at least you admitted where you started from.

Back to the conversation.

Sarah beat the crap out of Letterman and got more respect and notice from the Conservatives. A side consequence is that Letterman lost respect (but who cares?) Obviously, Manypaths cares, because he respects Letterman... LOL! Why? He's a comedian (or used to be).

My point is that Sarah used it to her advantage. She's just that smart and conniving. Bravo! I think she'll go far.

But, you have to admit, that Letterman lost a great deal of respect over this. This is what I call an ass-kicking.

#136 | Posted by Eddie

Manypaths, just how stupid are you to defend Letterman over this? Do you really think that Letterman is worthy of the respect you are giving him?

Key reason Palin gave for quitting may be false

By John Byrne

Published: July 9, 2009

Palin asserted that the reason for her departure was that her presence forced the state to shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to defend her from frivolous ethics complaints, instead of devoting the much-needed resources to cops, teachers and roads.

But as it turns out, the money for Palin's lawyers would have been allocated anyway, and that the lawyers would have been paid even if they hadn't been defending Palin. The information was disclosed to Plum Line's Amanda Erickson by Palin spokesperson David Murrow.

And she did do one thing worthy of applause- she quit. If only she did that one year ago, McCain would probably be President today.

#145 | Posted by kanrei

yes, I understand. You are far Left.

However, McCain would have lost with anyone he picked as VP. Sarah had nothing to do with him losing. Huckabee or Romney would have made better candidates, but I think Obama "Change" message is what won. (Too bad he was lying). He wasn't lying about change!

I'll go back to my original observations. The Left is scared and desperate over Sarah.

"If only she did that one year ago, McCain would probably be President today."

I think McCain chose her so he'd have an excuse for why he lost.

yes, I understand. You are far Left.

I guess you don't understand anything Eddie. How many "far left" people would say "If only she did that one year ago, McCain would probably be President today."

Yeah, those are the far left were really pulling for McCain.

#148 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

LOL! Waste is waste!

I have to admit this is a great spin on it, though.

How pathetic. You waste governments' money on frivolous actions and then say it was going to be wasted anyway?

Rogue, are you just having fun? LOL!!!

I think McCain chose her so he'd have an excuse for why he lost.

You and me both. I was 100% undecided until he picked Palin and I then became an Obama supporter.

I'm not following your logic.

The reality is that people voted against Bush and voted for "Change".

McCain was too much like Bush.

I am saying that you a far Left, like Obama. I could be wrong.

"The Left is scared and desperate over Sarah."

Yes. We shiver in fear each time she and President John McCain speak.

We're especially frightened each time we see some type of news announcement coming from President McCain's spokesman. We immediately ask, is it his health???

Yes. We're scared and desperate over Vice President Sarah Palin.

LOL!!!!

Manypaths, is this what you're talking about "Beating a retarded child"?

Sorry to keep poking you, MP... It's all about perspective, so be smart the next time you try to ridicule.

I explained it like this to JeffJ and he understood my logic:

Obama and Palin have no experience, but I trust the experience of McCain and Biden. For Palin to be President, there would have to be no McCain to advise her while Obama would have Biden to advise him. In a choice between Obama and Palin, I went with who would back them up.

It's very clear who the joke is in here.

No need to apologize to me.

I agree that he lost a few percentage points because of her, but it was lost from the beginning.

The Republicans picked the wrong guy. Obama was going to win anyway. I knew it from the start.

Eddie calling me "far left" pretty much targets him as a "ROLFMAO" target.

"So you picked Biden?"

"LOL!!!!"

Yeah. Me and 69,456,896 other voters.

Because I think Sarah kicked Letterman's ass and have respect for her tearing him a new one without compromising herself. She was polite, but very aggressive!

Because I think Letterman lost respect and will never get it back?

Where's the joke? Just wondering.

I think that the joke is that people like you think of Letterman as a respectful American icon and defend him by ridiculing anyone who speaks against him....

I'm not defending Letterman.

I have been defending reality.

What does finishing a term have to do with whether someone did a good job while they were they. She is beloved in Alaska so she must have been doing something right. Not finishing has nothing to do with her accomplishments.

Actually, her approval rating crashed and she's in the low 50's just before the resignation... I wonder what it is now?

I'm just wondering...
What type of person does it take to read through rants like tinyelvis's? I mean, I don't care who you are... if you oppose this nonsense, you're going to quit reading within a couple sentences. If you agree w/ his views, I would think one can only feed their ego for so long... again, only getting through a couple of sentences.

You have to think in terms of "soundbytes" here. If it takes more than a paragraph to say something, no one will read it.

"Reading?"

Okay, spot reading.

Still, its got to be a joke.

:(

Please don't make me choose.

Letterman sucks for what he did to Bill Hicks.

The Palin ordeal just helped him gain viewers.

"Letterman sucks for what he did to Bill Hicks."

Amen.

Didn't he finally apologize to the Hicks' estate and play the banned bit?

You see how the Left is shallow and hypocritical?

The nation is tired of it already.

Yes, the country has shown it's tired of shallowness and hypocrisy.

It's the reason we have a democratic congress and president. (and no, I'm not saying the dems aren't hypocritical or shallow...)

Didn't he finally apologize to the Hicks' estate and play the banned bit?

Yeah, like the Pope apologizing for Galileo and Giordano Bruno.

Too little too late.

Eddie,
You got your ass handed to you. Seriously, sometimes it's better to just quietly sneak out and lick your wound for a day or two.

For those who think the dislike of Palin is driven by fear, you're not completely incorrect. But it's not fear that she'll make it and do well, it's fear that she'll make it and we'll be looking at the Bush years as competent and full of wisdom.

"... and we'll be looking at the Bush years as competent and full of wisdom."

Don't even make jokes like that.

Yeah, but if he really wanted to make it right with Bill he would have asked himself this one question before apologizing to Sarah for telling a fucking joke:

Hey Dave?

Why not Hag? Bush gave Clinton a soul, so maybe Palin could give Bush a brain.

Shit, Sarah give's Michael Jackson's corpse a brain.

"Why not Hag? Bush gave Clinton a soul, so maybe Palin could give Bush a brain."

No, no, NO!! (*holding hands over ears and shaking head)

Clinton had soul long before shrub came around.

Curious, is incompetence a right wing character trait, is that why they cheer her on?

"... Sarah give's Michael Jackson's corpse a brain."

I read that as "Sarah give's Michael Jackson's corpse brain."

And I thought, no, she's not his type.

And then I thought, eeeewww.... necrophilia images.

Just a little- Hag

Interesting.

I see it slowly becoming popular to bash whitey or say, it's about time the white man is taken down.

What is this?

The only thing I've noticed is that Obama has officially busted through the glass ceiling. Isn't that a different perspective?

Instead of bringing down whitey, more Blacks have bigger and better dreams.

Clinton had soul long before shrub came around.

Yeah, but if he really wanted to make it right with Bill he would have asked himself this one question before apologizing to Sarah for telling a fucking joke:

Hey Dave?

#221 | Posted by Manypaths

It was a "fucking joke"--joking about fucking a minor, which translates to rape.

Your hero, Dave, is a pervert.

LOL...

You're the one attacking the white male here.

Oh you mean it was offensive?

Well guess fucking what?

I see nothing about race at all in those quotes. Drugs are fine Eddie, but you should cut back.

"joking about fucking a minor"

Another idiot proud to parade his ignorance.

You claim surprise at how your generation is as old as it is on one thread and then use the word pantaloons in another?!

I think I am honestly starting to pity Eddie.

"You claim surprise at how your generation is as old as it is on one thread and then use the word pantaloons in another?!"

Careful, whippersnapper!

I am good still: "groovy" "wicked" "awesome" and "dude" are terms that date you yet, but calling music shops "record stores" is starting to.

Careful, whippersnapper!

I had that coming.

Sorry, Pappy.

Should I have said breeches?

I think that's the point.

Don't even make jokes like that.

Unfortunately, it's no joke.

It was a "fucking joke"--joking about fucking a minor, which translates to rape.

It was a tasteless joke, but Sara's reaction to it made sure everyone knew about it.

Her propensity for making mundane, small incidences national news is scary.

You would think, considering Eddie's condition, he would be more of a Democrat considering the special programs they support that he would need to live a normal live, but I support he is too far down the IQ chain to even vote in his own best interests.

Should I have said breeches?

C'mon everybody ... you have to admit that given the complete ridiculousness that is our little Eddie, pantaloons was the perfect word choice.

I was born in 1971 and have to look that word up. I assume it is a type of pants. Do they have dictionaries old enough to cover words like that on-line?

#247
Reading comments page on bberry waiting for N train I thought "omg did I actually say something that bad?" I've never had a dump or even a deleted comment.
You definitely had me there for a moment.

I can't figure out if the rtards are really as stupid as this support seems to indicate or if they are so partisan, so vindictive at being thrashed for 2 elections that they would support an idiot that would make bush look competent just so they could have their team back at the helm.

Just say this and you will see the answer: They elected Bush twice.

Hey, Manypaths: I didn't say "I think that's the point" in reference to anything Eddie said.

I know. I was trying to get Hag in trouble.

But it was in reference to something I said so I considered it fair game.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Did you look at my site?

I don't know what you're referring to. I've been in the weeds all day.

its real simple

just as bachman said last night to hannity

the left hates a woman who is prolife and a conservative.

and they dont give a fuck if that woman is the epitome of what the womans movement USED to be about

having a job and a family at the same time and this woman was A GOVERNOR and even that didnt matter to them

of course NAG and the others have been irevelant since the 90's when the potus harrased a pudgy intern and they said

nothing

ANCHORAGE, Alaska The former fiance of Gov. Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter says he thinks he knows why the Alaska governor is resigning concerns over money.

Levi Johnston, 19, whose wedding to Bristol Palin was called off earlier this year, says he believes the governor is resigning over personal finances.

Johnston says he lived with the Palin family from early December to the second week in January. He claims he heard the governor several times say how nice it would be to take advantage of the lucrative deals that were being offered, including a reality show and a book.

"I think the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars," said Johnston, who has had a strained relationship with the family but now says things have improved.

The last time I remember the left blowing a gasket over someone was.... hmm.... Ronnie!

If Sarah is 1/2 the president Reagan was then our country may survive for another generation.

Pretending the left is "blowing a gasket" or that we're afraid of Sarah! is just the right's way of avoiding dealing with the fact that she was and is an unmitigated disaster. But whatever helps you get to sleep at night...

...they dont give a fuck if that woman is the epitome of what the womans movement USED to be about... of course NAG and the others have been irevelant since the 90's when the potus harrased a pudgy intern and they said nothing -- #265 | Posted by afkabl2

Amen to that. Most women's groups have been so narrowly focused on abortion rights that (A) they've allowed politicians to shortchange women by giving them nothing else, and (B) they've become largely irrelevant to most women.

They seem to be figuring it out, though. Remember, NOW supported Palin in her feud with Letterman. It also spoke up against a "Republican women we'd like to f---" piece. Can't find it quickly, but at the time, there was a good article by a woman at the Boston Globe applauding these moves and making the exact same point you did -- that women's groups can't pretend to be women's groups when they allow Clinton's harassees to be dismissed as trailer trash and say nothing about the sexist crap Republican women like Palin have been subjected to.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Just put on any Otis Reading song and contemplate the fact that a spiritual trait cannot exist without it's opposite.

the governor is resigning over personal finances.

Of course, it's the money.

Who wouldn't quit a shitty job to make millions?

Otis Reading? Who's that?

The economy fel the first 2 years under Reagan.

Look at what you fuckers are saying after 6 months under Obama and you might realize that you are a fucking joke.

Oh, Sarah.
Poor thing.

Can't
play
pro
ball.

Nothing wrong with that, but enough already.

Yet somehow I would be quite surprised to hear you describe Obama as "beloved".

LOL!

#183 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

No. I would certainly say that Obama is beloved. By a certain portion of the population. I didn't mean that everyone in Alaska loves Palin, just that that is the overall sentiment.

Manypaths, do you know how to express any thought without using the "F" word? Some of your opinions make a lot of sense, but then you start using the old "F" word and your seriousness goes down the tank.

My suggestion is that if you want to be taken as seriously as you seem to be .... drop the crap and talk like a sensible adult.

Just my opinion.

ManyPaths is gone so don't waste a perfectly good sermon.

GOP faithful? Not! Partys are just SHELLS. What the Commies did with the Democrat Party is proof of that fact.

Gov. Palin is exciting because she's starkly Conservative! The Republican Party needs to be flushed of its RINOs and Pinkos and re-filled with folks like her and Gov. Jindal.

If, as is expected, Sarah can light a bonfire in America for Conservative candidates to re-populate the opposition party, the 'silent majority' can come back to the polls enthusiastically again!

Both political parties are in a sad state. If we continue to elect only Lawyers that failed in privite practice and Social Engineers that can't find work other than Acorn into office, the citizens of the USA are in for a world of hurt when the bills become due. Most of these clowns demented Personal life is mixed into their Political life, funny as it may seem they are using our money to do it. They are like little kids (brats), if any normal working person were to behave as they do, that person would be fired. And we keep electing the same losers again and again.

Gov. Palin is exciting because she's starkly Conservative! The Republican Party needs to be flushed of its RINOs and Pinkos and re-filled with folks like her and Gov. Jindal.

Personally I can't wait!

The 2-party system in America has seen its better days. Saying that, we cannot expect a change because that would hold each of the existing parties accountable to the people, and we could never have that!

So what is left? Energize the existing parties. And the only way to do that is for each to find someone like Palin ... someone who can bring their perspective party back together with excitement and enthusiasm.

Palin is the GOP energy base at present. Rather than have the Democrats continually waste their time pounding on her, it would behoove them to search for their own person who could do the same for the Democratic Party.

We should try to get away from the partisan positions Clinton put us in, and try to actually do something that would be good for our country again ... if it isn't too late.

And it isn't Palin herself .... as has been said before, it is what she represents: Freshness, civility, accomplishment, and an attitude that is focused on our nation before her own politics.

Freshness, civility, accomplishment, and an attitude that is focused on our nation before her own politics

That's some funny stuff! She's a shrew, vindictive and petty. There's nothing "civil" about her. There's no accomplishment except cutting and running, all the while lying about how much she's saving AK. She's100% bullshit. All net and no salmon.

She gets into fights with unknown bloggers, and instead of exercising maturity and wisdom, she lashes out. Take Johnston, instead of ignoring Johnston, she issues press releases as petty and small minded as a 6th grader.

You really have a low bar, there Pastor. I hope you're right and the GOP gets "refreshed" by the likes of her and Jindal. You have no idea how much I wish them both on your party.

There's no accomplishment except cutting and running,

Actually, she accomplished quite a bit as governor and in a very short period of time.

She gets into fights with unknown bloggers, and instead of exercising maturity and wisdom, she lashes out. Take Johnston, instead of ignoring Johnston, she issues press releases as petty and small minded as a 6th grader.

Not to mention Letterman. Politicians are ALWAYS under attack. Fair or not, they MUST learn to develop extremely thick skins. Her reaction to Letterman and the blogs was an embarassment.

I hope you're right and the GOP gets "refreshed" by the likes of her and Jindal.

What's your beef with Jindal? As far as I can tell he's been governing effectively and hasn't made any embarassing or nasty remarks. I'll give you that he was given the spotlight and delivered a lousy speech. But beyond that, what is it about him you dislike so strongly?

Otis Reading? Who's that?

Bloke lives outside of London.

Sings like a bloody canary, he does.

Okay, my anglophilia attack is over.

Should have been Otis Redding, obviously.

I especially liked "Tramp" with him and Carla Thomas.

"I'mmm a lover. Daddy was. Momma, too."

And it isn't Palin herself .... as has been said before, it is what she represents: Freshness, civility, accomplishment, and an attitude that is focused on our nation before her own politics.

She represents the fact that a very stupid person can become the head of the GOP. If you like her then that says a lot about you too.
