Dan Froomkin, a popular blogger who covered national politics for the Washington Post until his recent firing, has been hired as the Washington bureay chief of Huffington Post. "Though the precise reasons for Froomkin's firing by The [Washington] Post remain unclear, there's no question that his penchant for aggressively criticizing establishment media behavior escalated tensions," writes Glenn Greenwald.

See there's hope for you rcade to get your dream job of writing headlines for the National Inquirer if you can only find the balls to fire yourself

so wasnt it the post that was going to sell meetings with politicians or whatever the hell that was

so is this the guy who tried that..

would make since to me that he would go to work for a scummy place like this one..

and its amazing how the left will attack people because they were either born into rich families or married them IF there is an "R" after thier name but when it comes to ARRiANA....they remain stranglet silent..........

Let the corporate media go bankrupt. It is completely useless to the people.

So much for the self anointed label of 'third estate'. 'Third class' seems more appropriate for the msm.

I'll bet when Rcade thinks of working 'under' Ms. Huffington, he gets so jittery that his ink pens go flying out of his 'breast awareness' pocket protector.

Yeah, we all remember the lefties going after John Kerry in 2004 for marrying Teresa.

Aren't you being stranglet hypocritical, old buddy?

Why is this news? Isn't he just another scumbag lefty? The Huff and Puff already has more crazy libs crawling around than roaches on a roach farm.

YAWN

IN the new era print media is obsolete. We may mourn its passing but it will still be dead.

roaches on a roach farm

You have to farm roaches in Texas?

They grow wild here in North Carolina.

Actually there are no roaches on my farm.
Scorpions, rattlesnakes, brown recluses, copperheads, black widows, water moccasins and coral snakes OTOH ...

The roaches in Austin are the size of Mini Coopers.

And they corner better.

Rcade--

So when someone has their story "spiked" the editor tossed it?

Why was this guy fired?

The Washington Post won't even talk to its own ombudsman about why Froomkin was fired. He was a reporter who was tough on the Bush administration and tough on Obama.

My guess is that the Post didn't like how Froomkin was also tough on the press, including the reporters at his own paper.

FF.

On Topic?

Aside from the fact that Froomkin rhymes with Boomkin which Spud considers hilarious the unintended consequences of Danny F bucking big media, getting shit canned for it and then landing sunny side up on the new Media side of the fence will prove to be an instructive tale in these turbulent times.

The rules are different now.

Good.

Be Well.

The relentless claim that the media is too liberal is horseshit. Younger reportters tend to be more liberal than their senior editors. But guess what? The editors are all older people, who lunch with over the top owners.

Froomkin was a fixture which pretended to give the Post balance, just like Robert Shear at the LA Times. When he proved to be 100% right and his shilling editors 100% wrong, it was too much for the editors to take. Power almost always trup0ms truth. Why else do you think Bush and Cheney are still free men?

Aren't you being stranglet hypocritical, old buddy?

Well then---he should probably be a pest from an outside venue, rather than inside the Compost's own doors.

I'm always delighted when a guy fired for being true to himself - I infer a few things about Froomkin - finds a job that lets him continue the good fight. Ah, the good we might have done had we only found he intestines. Cheez, I could been a contender. herm
