Lock and load.

I would think with 5 people shot dead all within only 10 miles of each other, the police must have some clue as to whom it might be. Like some recluse or hermit nutjob living in the nearby mountains. Reports say the police are keeping tightlipped so maybe they have a few clues.

I don't know what everybody here is afraid of.....they all own an arsenal of weapons. Everyone around me is a gun fanatic and get pissed that I don't own any!

Sounds more like someone with a light neurosis, Califchris. I would bet society forced him/her to kill because of social injustice and global warming. It's a sane response to an insane world. In fact, serial murder is merely a social experiment.
We should love this murderer, not judge the poor person.

I'm sure your #4 was written entirely tongue-in-cheek, Diablo.

I hope so. lol

It was, Calchris. But in fact these types are usually not hermits living in the mountains. They are insanely normal. Like Ted Bundy, Wayne Williams and Gen. Curtis Lemay, they blend in so well they are the last suspects.
In fact, many come up as suspects during investigations but are not arrested because "Couldn't be" kicks in since their personae are so well developed to seem normal.
I am always in respect I can swap opinions with you without any acrimony, Calchris. We have fundamentally different views but you are always very nice. Thank you. Others should learn from that.

Sanford will do anything to get back in the media spotlight.

Hippy or wingnutter?

Five bucks says wingnutter!

I'll bet South Carolinians are divided between outrage and wanting to know if this freed up any job openings.

That state is in real trouble on that front.

I'll bet this guy went to one of the Teabag parties yesterday.

I'll bet he voted for Obama. He got tired of waiting for change.

I'll bet this guy went to one of the Teabag parties yesterday.

I'll bet he spent some time on your face when he attended a teabag party. You should recognize his big, fat ass.

Can't you guys get off your teabag shit?

I have a feeling that when this man is found, even if he comes out with his hands up, it will end in a shootout (one sided mind you).......and that may not be such a bad thing.

Give it a few more days. The Lefties here work on an 8-day cycle, flogging some stupid angle to death until the next one comes along.

Remember when Rush Limbaugh was the head of the GOP? All the half-wit gerbils heard Olberman say it, and repeated it non-stop until the next talking point was handed down.

Huh?

You wingnutters don't claim Rush anymore?

Jesus, must every thread always devolve into partisan shit? What the hell does a serial killer have to do with party politics?

Oh, and Diablo, here's a clue: You get called out because you're always bringing up some tired shit about global warming being a farce. That's also not relevant here.

Gaffney, South Carolina
Home of the giant peach water tower, home of my best friend in college...the most racist little town I've EVER seen!

It was scareeeeey.

Even the tiny market there had "aisle 13-A. Colored products" with stuff like hair straightener and hair nets...in 1994.

Every relative of the guy I went there with said something about "n_gg_rs"

For a kid from the West, who studied MLK and the civil rights movement, it was shocking...

If there is some kind of political / social motivations, I would say wingnut. Most likely though its just a plain nut job.

BoOb was last seen heading towards South Carolina, car antenna in tow, singing "here I come to save the day" at the top of his lungs.

Five bucks says wingnutter!

Thin white guy, baseball cap, driving an SUV, according to the police descriptions.

Sick bastard. 10 to 1 some innocent bastard gets blown away by some scared local.

5 bucks its Sanford.

Police: Man shot in North Carolina may be wanted serial killer

www.cnn.com

Police in Gaston County, North Carolina, shot and killed a robbery suspect early Monday, and then called in police from South Carolina who have been chasing a serial killer.

but I bet there there was a Christian church on every corner right Kirk?

Are taking bets on what is on the baseball cap?

Some choices:
1. 'Mack' (of mack truck fame)
2. 'John Deere'
3. 'Chevy'
4. Confederate Flag
5. Jack Daniels label
6. 'Who Farted?'
7. the number of some nascar driver.

But in fact these types are usually not hermits living in the mountains--Diablo

One out of the mountains would be Ted Kazinsky--the Unibomber.

Hope this the guy they think he is.

Saved the taxpayers lots of money.

And some peace for the folks of SC and the surrounding.

I think this is a moment to pause and reflect. Let us pray that if indeed this was the killer that he died in pain and regret.
Amen.

Pass the mashed potatoes, if you please.

You nailed it. That's just what happened today -- sort of. News said it was a shootout between him and the cops during a burglary he was committing and the cops killed him. Save SC the cost of a trial. I wonder, if this guy had come across someone during his try to commit this burlary, if the serial killed wouldn't also have killed them too if the cops hadn't have stopped him first.

I can't really say I'm glad to be right, but this will certainly save the taxpayers some money.

cbob, I get "called out?" What does that mean?
Global warming is bullshit. It relies on computer models and ignores actual temperature readings.

No, it doesn't. Maybe you just don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

I do, betelg. The global warming computer models are fantasy machines. Actual readings show cooling since the late 90's. Those who fund NASA/GISS with an interest in more power get the readings they demand.

Did Art Bell tell you that?

It's so funny. The latest salvo (past few months) has been to attack the climate models. It's not like there's been any scientific dissention on the models. That's come from opinion pieces. Where are these folks getting their ideas?

Even though Exxon's launched a nice little "we're doing something about global warming" campaign in the U.S. they continue to fund the deniers. Coincidentally two that get quoted here at the DR most of the time - the National Center for Policy Analysis, and the ever popular Heritage Foundation.

But do carry on, being duped by Big Oil (again) as if launching a war os choice in Iraq wasn't enough.

Some people never learn.

Be glad if they got him.
He looks nothing like the composite sketch
that was circulating though.

It's good to see cops doing something
like this, instead of, you know,
writing a million speeding tickets...

twenty crack ambulance chasing script writers rejoice in glee for their latest gift wrapped screenplay

Diablo, what it means is that global warming has exactly jack shit to do with a serial killer. You seem to have a strange obsession with pointing out that you don't believe the view of most scientists on global warming. Good for you. But you get called out (in other words, sometimes people aren't polite) for bringing up a total non-sequitur on unrelated topics.

You know, like serial killers.

Hope that clarifies things.

"One out of the mountains would be Ted Kazinsky--the Unibomber."

Good point, Murphy. Calichriss was on target. He seems to have been a violent geek after all.

cbob, the non-sequitor was brought up by someone else. I was responding.

Why has no one come up with the obvious choice?

Giterdone.

Giterdone.

Because nobody actually says that.

We say goanow.

When they find the body...
He'll have 75 bullet holes in him...
250 stab wounds.
whole slabs of his skin will have been slashed off.
He'll have an ax sticking out of his head.

When they find a loose shoe string in his pocket-the Coroner will declare it a "suicide".....

Uh, Uh, Uh! This guy is not white. I would say he is a mutt. He is half black and half white. Or he is a mestizo or mulatto. Try to heap scorn on the ole Cracker ever time, even if it is a lie.

But do carry on, being duped by Big Oil (again)

If you are going to play the 'follow the money card' you should do so accross the board in lieu of doing so selectively.

Typical Republican/NRA Lifer.

I did - in response to the original "follow the money."

Do you want to go around the circle again?

I did - in response to the original "follow the money."

I don't recall that - however, I believe you.

Do you want to go around the circle again?

No. It's stupid to recycle the same arguments.
