Do you have any idea how hard it is for a public figure to sue for libel in this country?

Not only is it hard to win a case, but if Palin sued somebody she would subject herself to a deposition from the other side's attorneys. She'd have to answer questions under oath, and they wouldn't be limited to the potentially libelous story.

There's almost no chance Palin will ever sue anybody for libel. The only way it happens is if her own stupidity compels her to order a lawyer to file suit.

While I've tended to rip the media for over-obsessing with Palin, her resignation is a fairly big story with a lot of seemingly unanswered questions, and I think people have a right to speculate as to why it happened. The letter from her lawyer claims that this story was already out there during the campaign, but I don't remember it. His letter comes off as sort of unprofessional - it's full of internet links, as if the web content he's citing proves anything.

This copy on the Poland site has the same funny lines above and below the Obama entry. Could be a faked document.. The R's are the same as the r's on the rest of the page but when you blow it up a little the M is not the same and the H is different and some of the other letters. The S looks to be filled in. The three notices below Obama seem the same.. The s's at the top of the page in the same font seem different.
