Hell of a lot better than the last 8 years under bushie.

this partisan bickering is just a distraction from the real issues. If you're a partisan, get educated.

Mandatory vaccinations have been done in the past.

TX Perry mandated all girls take that shot for cervical cancer.

I would have told them to shove it.

It's one thing to have children take polio and Hep shots and chicken pox as they spread pretty easily.

Unlike Gardisal--which was pushed by a special interest corporation to the gov't in TX (probably got some big bucks in the coffers for that) when it only addresses 4 types of cervical cancer and the cancer is caused by screwing multiple people--or lifestyle and not air-bourne.

And how can they mandate a shot for swine flu with little or no testing?

Usually I am not one for conspiracies--but this whole thing stinks to high heaven.

McCain and Obama are too different to be the same.

They might have some of the backers--but that goes for all pols.

The left-right thing has merit.

It is the same as Obama promoting class warfare and hating capitalism.

But for Obama--he needs the middle class to get his agenda through. He is breaking most of his campaign promises--no taxes for people making less than 250k, taxing health care benefits (except for union workers), etc.

The gov't does it to stay in power and the MSM pushes these fights for ratings.

I know it was for real. That same Amber Alert report just came over our local talk radio -- KFI 640 AM -- here in Los Angeles about 2 minutes ago.

Only? That's 70% of all cervical cancers.

Are you stalking me? lol

If the cancer is the result of phucking multiple people--the shot is not needed when girls are not phucking multiple partners.

" I know it was for real. "

So be on the lookout, BOLO for short.

What a POS that guy is.

If the cancer is the result of phucking multiple people--the shot is not needed when girls are not phucking multiple partners.

#21 | Posted by MURPHY

If you had a daughter and she got cervical cancer you wouldn't feel bad after you refused for her to have the shot. I believe it protects people from genital warts which can cause the cancer. You don't need to fuck multiple partners only one to get it.

"If the cancer is the result of phucking multiple people--the shot is not needed when girls are not phucking multiple partners."

And you'd risk your child getting cancer based on your wishes of what should be?!?

You're making this about sex; it's about health.

Excuse me for not believing the drug industry when they come out with a shot that has not been tested for a generation before making it mandatory in the state of TX and beyond!!

The cancer isn't from having sex with multiple people just one with hpv is all it takes.
Multiple partners just increases the chances of contracting hpv.

Zat --

The guy is probably already heading south on the I-5. Every cop on the freeway is going to be on the look out. Amber Alerts are always announced ASAP on our local news stations (tv and radio) and people do pay attention to them when they're out driving.

Wow, it's on the radio again right now.

It's NOT about health!!

It's all about money for these quacks!

It is about wise old men being paid uber bucks to push a vaccine they wouldn't take themselves, paying the gov't pols to accept it and then getting paid more uber bucks when the populace is forced to take the shot.

#25
Some of my wifes research is specifically related to hpv and gardasil. Murphy you're way way way off base here and methinks you are allowing your religious beliefs to interfere with you judgment on this issue.

#18 Murphy - McCain and Obama are too different to be the same.

Murph, did you read the article? The article explains how they are just pawns of the elite.

Further definition of "the big picture" here.

And how many "girls" have they tested before they shoved this crap to the populace?

How many of the "girls" tested are now grown adult women now?

How many??

Murphy you're way way way off base here and methinks you are allowing your religious beliefs to interfere with you judgment on this issue.

It wouldn't be the first time.

Yeah we are screwed.

A side note...
Measles outbreak in brooklyn because people are not getting their children vaccinated.

Lol I was just about to post an article about that. Just to needle the anti-vax crowd.

"And how many "girls" have they tested before they shoved this crap to the populace?"

Good point; they can't test on minors, and for good reason.

What they can do is follow the facts, wherever they lead, and the current numbers point to a huge boon in women's health. 70% of a particular kind of cancer with one vaccine?!? That's a virologists dream! Plus, it's subject to ongoing testing, and would be withdrawn at the first hint of an overriding problem.

Needle the antivax crowd?
LMAO

I would think the virologists' dream is 100%!

I hope everyone had a great 4th!

We took the boat out on the San Diego Bay with friends and it was just great!

They had four barges and synchronized with the Walrus 105.7 music.

We were like 100 yards from one of the barges and so close you could almost touch the fireworks (ouch!)

It was so cool.

I disagree with you often but on this point I think you're a little batty, murphy.

"Yeah like after they all die? Or after they find out they can't have children? Or after they find deformed babies? Or after their children have deformed babies?"

But you could use that argument with every vaccine, or every medicine. We didn't know if measles vaccines or diphtheria vaccines would cause long-term problems either. Still, we go on what we believe is best, and the best science today points to a major gain for women. If it saved an arm or a lung, no one would quibble. The fact it involves a "reproductive organ" is causing the fuss.

I think the idea is that you get what you deserve if you have extramarital sex and all the talk about unknown potentials is just rhetoric to obscure that point.

But you could use that argument with every vaccine, or every medicine.

Okay, so don't take any precautions to protect the public; don't require more testing and keep telling parents that they must vaccinate regardless (perpetuating the lie that it is the law, when it is only a "school policy" [childhood vaccinations].)

Some of my wifes research is specifically related to hpv and gardasil
I understand it's your wife, but it sounds like you are stating her stand on the issue. If its ok, I'll speak to you as if it was your wife.

The symptoms/issues are not inconsequential. We're talking about reproductive problems from blind trust in a product that is supposed to reproductively protect you. That is what makes this doubly bad!

The fact of such a rising number of these cases are alarming and the fact that the health officials purposely hide the reports, refuse to pull it to re-evaluate it, simply making a very lame statement that the benefits outweigh the negatives! The watchdog sites have been complaining about this for years with no serious addressing of the issues. Lawmakers also refuse to suspend laws as a caution. This borderlines on conspiracy, even if it actually isn't.

The fact that you, who are educated in the industry defend the lack of caution here is very alarming.

#45- murphy
And when there is an outbreak like measles--it is primarily because there are folks coming here illegally and have not had their children vaccinated or they themselves have not been vaccinated.

They make illogical statements against homeschoolers that they are the cause for outbreaks. You should've heard a CPS worker spew this garbage. Think about it. If everyone's getting vaccinated like they're supposed to except homeschoolers (and perhaps illegals), then the only ones that could be infected are those homeschoolers and illegals. Or is it that the vaccines really don't work???

Arkansas Legal Council Tells Caller Forced Vaccination is Constitutional

Among the serious concerns in raising this is people can easily be duped into believing something is "constitutional" because there have been court precedent for a particular point of view.

A legal aid lawyer would know firsthand the difference. The fact that someone in his position is misinforming the public is very disturbing.

Mass vaccinations in Canada, Mexico, Norway and many others are already slated for this fall.

The WHO push for new vaccination for school children here this fall for the swine flu is the next fight.

The cancer isn't from having sex with multiple people just one with hpv is all it takes.
Multiple partners just increases the chances of contracting hpv. -- #26 | Posted by Hagbard_Celine

It's also highly contagious -- condoms don't protect against HPV, for example -- and men rarely get any symptoms from it so they spread it without even knowing they're carriers. Something like 50% of all sexually active adults get HPV in their lifetimes (but most don't become cancerous -- they resolve without any intervention).

One of my college roommates died from cervical cancer. I'll never lose the image of the lovely, sparkling college athlete I knew bald from chemo and dead in her early 30's.

-the shot is not needed when girls are not phucking multiple partners. -- #21 | Posted by MURPHY

Way wrong, Murphy. First, you don't actually have to have intercourse to get it. Second, your daughter could get it if she was a virgin on her wedding day and never had sex with anyone but her (one) husband. He could have caught it from one person several years earlier, and have no idea that he was a carrier -- if it's not cleared by the immune system (which takes 1-2 years when it does clear), it lingers for years, most often with no symptoms.

The American Social Health Association reported estimates that about 75-80% of sexually active Americans will be infected with HPV at some point in their lifetime.[8][9] By the age of 50 more than 80% of American women will have contracted at least one strain of genital HPV.[10][11][12] en.wikipedia.org

Also see the CDC page: www.cdc.gov .

Sorry to go on and on. Like I said, it was hard to watch my old roommate die from cervical cancer. It's also remarkable how little people know about a potentially deadly virus that the majority of (unvaccinated) Americans will carry during their lifetimes.

Los Angeles people --

Fire just broke out in the Angeles National Forest up by Little Tujunga Canyon. Only 5 acres now but y'all know how fast those fires up there get out of control. If you live in the SFV or around the area, keep an eye on it.

FTFY, #72.

That Pascal's Wager relies upon browbeating people into believing -- by using thinly-veiled threats and emotional blackmail -- should be enough for any thinking individual to dismiss it immediately.

Criticisms of Pascal's Wager:

Since there have been many religions throughout history, and therefore many potential gods, some assert that all of them need to be factored into the wager, in an argument known as the argument from inconsistent revelations. This would lead to a high probability of believing in the wrong god, which destroys the mathematical advantage Pascal claimed with his Wager. Denis Diderot, a contemporary of Voltaire, concisely expressed this opinion when asked about the wager, saying "an Imam could reason the same way".[13] J. L. Mackie notes that "the church within which alone salvation is to be found is not necessarily the Church of Rome, but perhaps that of the Anabaptists or the Mormons or the Muslim Sunnis or the worshipers of Kali or of Odin." [14]

Pascal himself didn't address the question of other religions in his section on the wager, presumably because throughout the rest of Penses (and in his other works) he examined alternatives, like stoicism, paganism, Islam, and Judaism, and concluded that if any faith is correct, it would be the Christian faith.

I see. Christianity is correct since it's historically been the most successful in spreading itself by the blade of the sword or barrel of the gun. No further proof is necessary; God must've passed that revelation down to Pascal from Heaven.

Convenient how that deus ex machina swoops in to save the faithful once again..!

Zat,

The above is not the first time (God knows) that you made this kind of wager, and I still don't get something about it and hope you can explain.

Given that the above is an attempt to prove or disprove the existence of God, why would God, the creator of the universe, be compelled by your statement to even kiss your ass?

For example, I if I say.

I don't believe Zat exists, and I give him five seconds to prove it by kissing my ass and. . .
oh, oh,
wow...

that was less than five, Zat.

Impressive.

I guess you do exist.

Thanks.

FIVE THOUSAND DEAD GODS

by glennlogan

No god I know is still alive -
all five thousand and seven
appear to have died.

The great god Huitzilopochtli
led the Aztecs' divine pack -
but He departed awhile back.

Zeus was fun, and had His run,
but while disguised as a swan,
they say, His neck got wrung.

Pluto - God of the Underworld,
offended the ladies of Hades,
and got buried in his own Hell.

Thor, I'm told, was big and bold,
but going out without a cloak,
they say, He died of the cold.

And ghosts of dead Indian gods
can't even haunt a decent tepee,
and many die on late night T.V.

No prisoners tremble on the altar
when their beating hearts are torn
to join Tezcatlipoca in the sky.

And no children scream as they
are loaded onto the simple machine
that feeds them to Moloch's fire.

And for ancient Greece's Dionysus,
no drums sound, no flute plays -
but, oh, weren't those the days!

The goddesses, too, we must include,
for all were dear to some, and lived
in our hearts until the time had come.

There was Athena , Gaia, and Kore,
Xochiquetzal, Minerva, and Astarte,
Ixtab, Kuan Yin, and Kali of course.

Five thousand gods and goddesses -
maybe ten or a hundred fifty thousand
or more, there might have been.

But the goddesses and gods have all
gone, one by one, until there are none
but those that are still willed alive.

- Gods and goddesses kept alive
by people still believing - still
trusting - in their own creations.

Pinocchio becomes god of the wood,
while Pygmalion falls on his knees
before his goddess of stone, Galatea.

We remember the Loving Mother
and the Father the All-Mighty
looming large in an infant's eyes.

For each girl-woman makes the God
she craves and needs - then kneels
before Him and says, "Oh, please!"

And each boy-man makes himself
a Goddess that he wishes,
giving a Mother's hugs and kisses.

And older men and women tend
to make our gods with
wrinkled brow and constant pout.

Still we always make our gods
to look a lot like me and you -
one head, one mouth, two eyes.

But the god of songbirds flies,
and the gods of all the fishes
must swim through ocean skies.

The god of cattle may be a bull,
or just maybe it's a cow -
I can't hope to settle that now.

But I am well informed by
one who ought to know:
the god of dogs is a bitch!

God laughs? Not on your life!
The joke's on us - but I'm told
She's heard this joke before!

The Guy Who Invented Religion

He said:
I want a barrier
To divide Different people
Who stood side by side.

I want hypocrisy
And constant war.
Common sense
I want to ignore.

I want exploitation,
My voice to be heard
And to spread disease
Throughout the World.

I want riches,
"It's god's word," i'll cry.
While millions of people Fall down. And die.

"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsley say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you"

I challenge you god! You do not exsist and in no way affect our lives.

Friend, If you wake tomorrow and you notice the sun has still risen, know that God has extended his grace to you on more time and you still have an opportunity to turn and repent. Tomorrow is not promised to anybody, believer or atheist.

I Cor 2:13-15 - When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead we speak words given by the Spirit using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren't spiritual can't recieve these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are Spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

II Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Amen L_R!

and the antiretrovirals that were developed kept a lot of HIV cases from turning into AIDS.

you might want to revisit that theory. Google anitretrovirals and check for yourself. Maybe you'll run into how it was used in the Third World when it had been long since banned here. The vast majority of those people never had HIV let alone AIDS. There was a big problem when people's habits in Europe were not turning up AIDS. Remember how the theory changed from primary spread by contracting by heterosexual contact to a sharing-needles disease?

I don't need to google it. One of my closest friends has been HIV+ for over 10 years now. The antiretrovirals saved his life. Here's a site with general information: www.avert.org . Here's an April 2009 article from a medical site: www.medicalnewstoday.com .

"Hell of a lot better than the last eight years under Bushie..."

Boy, you got that right.

How can you people claim there is not a God and at the same time exalt Obama?

By the way, it surely does seem that things are getting "better and better every day in every way." Coue said that and maintained it unti the day he died. and now he's better off in Heaven having made the transition.

en.wikipedia.org

Emile Coue: "Day by day in every way I am getting better and better."

Obama bought this man's snake oil business. As with Coue, under Obama every day in every way things are getting better and better. Believe it. The unemployed seeking work believe it. The people evicted from their homes believe it. And people with the conditioned response believe it. They also salivate on stimulus.

Who is driving the car? The concessions made to accommodate small groups of people is incredible. This is without regard to the propriety or lack of propriety of the policy. That this course was ostensibly undertaken to make what is most probably a very small group of disturbed people, who have engineered their own physical mutilation in a vain attempt to "reassign" their gender, "feel better" about themselves is another indication that our society is dysfunctional and will grind to a halt. Policy determinations are in the hands of madmen. Unless of course, the transgender aspect is a spurious issue inserted merely as another reason to institute this agenda.

Excerpt:

Men, women share U. of C[hicago] rooms
NEW POLICY | Male, female undergraduates can now share dorm, no questions asked

Although the policy is not aimed at romantic relationships, boyfriends and girlfriends aren't prohibited from living together because the U. of C. will not ask why students want to be roommates, officials said.

The change in policy was debated for the last couple of years after advocates for transgender students pushed the university to allow "gender neutral'' housing. They said some transgender students feel uncomfortable rooming with students of the same biological sex when they actually identify with the opposite sex.

Nice photo on Drudge. We have the First Lady with the biggest rump. www.drudgereport.com Michelle Obama and Eleanor Roosevelt are both supposed to have been 5'11" tall. Which one was "a millimeter longer" has not yet been determined. Who was the tallest First Lady? Will we ever know?

After due consideration, the committee reports that Eleanor was uglier than Michelle. Michelle wins hands down for attractiveness on both face and body.

Those Democrat leaders surely know how to pick their women. Oh wait. FDR was supposed to have had a mistress.

Yes Johnson, we ALL know what's important to you...

Brains... Nope
Common sense... Nope
Loving & caring for family... Nope
Professional accomplishments... Nope

Size of butt... BINGO!

Really? I'd love to hear some real and reasonable reasons as to how it is so much better.
