Happy Fourth, everyone!

When are stories taken off the main page here? Is it a set time limit like 3 days or is it when theres a lot of time between comments, or does RCADE just manually decide when to kill a story?

Fuck.

Interesting conversation going on. Anyone familiar with DHS 'continuity of government'?

Don't know if you even have access to a computer where you are, but sure hope all went well with your operation last week and you're feeling a bit better every day. Check in when you're able.

Meanwhile, Happy 4th of July!

There should be fireworks on from Washington, DC on PBS tonight if you've got a tv handy.

Take care.

Now don't get your hopes up for a fourth one. LOL

Malia Obama's birthday is today too.

It was meant as trivia--sorry..lol

CC--what is up for your agenda today?

Anyone else as amazed as I am that its been 11 posts with out one word form AFKBL2? Fire works misshap I'm think.....

Its my father Birthday too day to. At least when your born on or close to 4th of Jully you get fireworks and Presents unlike being born close to Christmas. Then everyone screws you and bundles it all together.

Saturday, July 4th @ 11:00am Pacific Time (-08:00 GMT) - Food Not Bombs founder, Keith McHenry, LIVE! from Washington DC. They will be baking bread in front of the White House as a symbol of peace on Shakedown Street, a HeadingLeft-featured broadcast (SPECIAL DAY AND TIME!)

Shakedown Street

Excerpt from Dick Morris.

President George H.W. Bush lost the presidency because he broke his 1988 campaign pledge: "read my lips: no new taxes." Now President Obama is as blatantly poised to disregard his most fundamental campaign promise: "if you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. Not one dime."

In our new book Catastrophe, we write about the breadth of Obama's planned tax hikes and the heights to which he will drive taxes. To pay for his health care catastrophe, Obama will likely make all health insurance premiums, paid by employers, taxable to the employees.

****************************** ****************************** ********

Obama promises everything is "for free," but when push comes to shove there is no source for the promised free lunch. When folks can vote themselves what they think will be benefits, money transfers effected by government edict, then we are on the road to destruction.

Let's start out with a dual response, "No votes for indigent folks," and "A literacy test at the polls."

As a condition precedent to voting, you should not have received any form of government assistance for one year as an eligibility criterion, and there should also be a literacy and civic knowledge test subject to audit and with a mechanism for strict enforcement.

What was intended as a democracy has transformed itself into a situation which involves skillful manipulation of indigent people who are promised transfers of goods of the provident. Manipulation of voters through exercise of guile and misrepresentation is the order of the day. And any relationship between the public image of the candidate and the candidate is purely coincidental.

Come to think of it, candidates should be required to pass a minimum intelligence test, and some psychological tests of fitness, sort of like the astronauts.

Come on Brian. There is plenty of surplus production capacity that needs to be put to work now, and possibly could product some of the ingredients necessary to provide bread. Stopping war related activity would just increase the number of enemployed, who might just then be without bread.

By the way, how does "Heavy Hans" feel about Obama's proposed helath plan that might preclude Hans as a heavy person from entitlement and receipt of numerous procedures? After all, Han's life is actually on the line with this program. Think about it. If there would be a memorial, someone could note that Hans gave his life for his ideology. A true believer.

Er, "... increase the number of unemployed ...

and

"... Obama's proposed health plan ...

Every n ow and then, a "dump" mystifies me. This is one of them.

Why? What was the basis for the dump?

I've been watching the Red Sox/Mariners game. It's occured to me that since both teams are wearing red caps(as are all teams this weekend),it's very hard to follow the game if you're only half assed watching it.
Ya can't just look up and tell from the color of the caps who's who and what's going on at a play at base etc.

Of course I have been celebrating my Independence since about 9 AM PDT, so...............

You don't want to know.

THIS is what I've been working on for days, and will be for the next few days. Should be signing contract this week for having fumigation (for termite report needed for sale of house in the future) and they have a preparation list you have to complete before they fumigate. Just have termite damage in one small area by a window but the whole place needs to be fumigated in order to get the Report required for the Buyer (when I get one.) Don't know when it will be scheduled so need to be ready to go.

Talk about a TON of work. I'm exhausted. There is so much stuff to pack and cover, etc.

All items suitable for consumption by humans (i.e. foods, beverages, drugs and medicines) that are not in factory sealed metal cans or plastic bottles must be removed from the structure or double bagged. The items must be bagged in special bags designed for the fumigation process and must be twisted, folded over and sealed with tape, rubber bands or tie wraps. Food inside of refrigerators and freezers must also be double bagged.

All people, pets and plants must leave or be removed from the building prior to fumigation.

Notify the fumigation company of any items that connect your structure to another, such as: tunnels, pathways, conduits, etc.

All heating elements must be unplugged (i.e. heaters, electric skillets, etc.).

All pilot lights must be extinguished (i.e. ovens, hot water heaters, furnaces, dryers, etc.).
Gas must be shut off at the main gas value.
Turn off all automatic switch controls on all lighting systems and/or appliances.
All interior doors, closets, drawers and cabinets must be opened.
Open drapes, raise blinds and open attic vents.
All items obstructing the natural flow of the structure must be removed or retracted. These items include: antenna, guide wires, weather vanes or retractable awnings.

Cut back trees (including those touching the roof) and shrubbery around the structure to prevent damage.

Let's just say this 4th of July has sucked. Not much fun. Definitely plan to make up for it next 4th of July though.

John Fogerty is playing tonight at the Hollywood Bowl w/fireworks afterwards. Would sure liked to have gone to see him if I wasn't tied down here working. Next time. I like his songs and love CCR.

"Anyone want to sell Barry a clue? Namely that his foreign policy SUCKS! But then, what do you expect in promoting a community organizer' several steps above his competency level. Another prime example of "The Peter Principle"."

I was checking the deleted comments and on the Retort's The Wednesday Nooner the comment Posted by scooter28054 at 2009-07-01 06:01 PM that was deleted calls into question the so-called tolerance for opposition views that rcade claims to have on the Drudge Retort. Whatsa matta Rogers the Sacrosanct One's plummeting approval ratings getting on your nerves?

Is it you sitting around the kitchen in your half open bathrobe blogging on the DR? If it is I can go take a look-see a lot sooner somewhere and download it to a CD for transfer to my PC for ...err "reference purposes".
