Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, a prominent Republican supporter of President Obama during the campaign, is voicing doubts about some of his agenda. "I'm concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them," Powell told CNN.

Powell should have called Bush's Bullshit.

He had his chance.

Go make seven figure speeches.

Will the Dr left return to calling Powell a traitor for his negative remarks on Obama

No, but we will continue to call him an idiot for his hilarious "Two Iraqi Guys with Cellphones" skit at the UN and his subsequent silence over his anger with Bush, only voiced post-election.

Powell had his chance is right. He'll never be able to live down his UN speech when on the world stage he tried passing off those stupid drawings he knew were phony as chem/bio labs as a valid reason to invade Iraq.

"And we can't pay for it all," said Mr. Powell

* * * *

We don't have to. The Chinese will! Geez--doesn't General Powell know about the wunderkind running Treasury? Tax-Dodgin' Timmy?

Powell is a phoney-baloney!

Raised up in the Republican party, only to
kiss Obama's black ass (because it's black).
Now - Johnny come lately - critisizing Obama.

Hey private Powell, who did you thik you were endorsing?

America's love of negroid features.

Did someone just wake this guy up??

What a dufus!

He's shocked there is gambling going on!

Obama belongs to the Congressional Bill of the week club.

Consumer spending is 70 per cent of GDP, but consumers have suddenly stepped on the brakes. This is a real game-changer.

Household wealth has slipped $14 trillion since the crisis began. This includes sizable losses in real estate, investments and retirement funds. Home equity has dropped to 41 per cent (a new low) and joblessness is on the rise. When credit was easy, borrowing increased, assets prices rose and the economy grew. Now the process has shifted into reverse. Credit has dried up, collateral values have plunged, GDP is negative, and consumers are buried under a mountain of debt. Personal bankruptcies, defaults and foreclosures are all up. It will take years, perhaps a decade or more, to rebuild household balance sheets and restore the flagging economy. The consumer is running on empty and the chances of a robust recovery are nil.

Excerpted from Mike Whitney @ Counterpunch

This is Shrub's fault. but, Wall Street doesn't care who's in charge, as long as they own him they do what they want. And they clearly own Obama.

Just saw Powell on CNN. Honeymoon may be over, but they're still dating.

Another tempest in a tea bag from the ridiculous right.

Powell and Obama never had matching philosophies. I'm sure Obama knew that already. Obama seems the type that doesn't mind criticism. He probably gets different viewpoints all day long and makes the choice that he feels will be the most beneficial for all Americans. Bush on the other hand couldn't handle criticism and surrounded himself with yes men and you saw where that got us.

Powell has lost his creditability. he has no voice. he sold it

What a jerk, he endorsed the anti-war candidate in the middle of a war. Now, he sees this busty economic recovery and is speaking against the policies he sought best for the office.

On the other hand, this puts the Oministration in a tailspin. Joy and Pain are like sunshine and rain.

He probably gets differnt points of views? You have no idea what he does or doesn't do, or what Bush did or didn't do. You are just projecting your hate on Bush, and your love on the big O. Bush sucked, but Obama will be worse I fear.

no not really, i heard his speech before the U N and what he know"slam dunked" about WMD. Suggest you study up and not assign motives when in fact you are a stupid turd

Here is my take on Powell, I believe Powell intentions are for whats best for America, and not for what is politcally right. Partisans hate Powell, if its the Left because he is not with their core of beliefs, or the Right because hes not with their core of beliefs.

I think Powell's endorement of Obama, was more because he believed Obama would change politics in DC. As time went on (as the saying goes for DR Left) He was more of the same.

Powell and Mccain had more in common, than Powell and Obama. Not just in their core of beliefs (that you read in this artical) but in the sence they believe in compromise in politics. Which I think is a lost art form in Amercain politics due largely to the fact that the 2 party system over powers any other voice.

To say Powell is a political pawn,is a statement only a Partisan would use. Especially with the education Powell has, his success as a general and a public servant. Powell achivements dwarf any achievements made by the best DR Bloggers. The DR crowd can only resort to basic mud slinging when it come to Powell, which shows not only their lack of inferority, but also in their child like behavior.

I believe Powells address to the UN was not about politics. I thjink he beileved what the majority of congress, senate and the President believed, that there were WMDs in Iraq. That is what Saddamm wanted everbody to believe. Well thats what he got. That does not make Powell a liar.

cmbell does it bother you that Larry outsmarted you multiple times on this blog?

He should have thought of that before he endorsed the monkey.

I wonder of the Limpblob and Cheney will now let Powell back in the club or are they done giving 'darkies' a chance?

OR.....he's using LOGIC & FACT to deduce that Bush never liked differing voices, Surely someone as brilliant as yourself can remember "WITH US OR AGAINST US" and all of the firings of people who weren't yes-men to the administration.

Colin flipflopin' again?

I remember when he made the comment that the Republicans need to run a more moderate candidate. Then the republicans did with McCain, then Colin supported obama

Why should semi-colen be supprised? BHO stated his adjenda very clearly during the campaign. I guess he should have pulled his head out so he could hear a little better.

Here is the deal. Obama has a choice, he can either try to stick with his campaign promises ( which BTW he is breaking every day) of doing everything at once (healthcare,SS overhaul, economic recovery.....) or he can do what was suggested by Mccain, which is knock out one problem at a time.

Obama has to see that he needs to put Country in front of party and political promises. If not then he risk having a major disaster on his hands. Obama as well intentioned he might be, needs to relise he is in over his head, and doing everything at once is not the right path. I personally can't see why he should have a problem with choosing to make priorities. By choosing priorities might take a little longer, but if he succuessful, he does 2 things. He creates Trust and Confidence in the people. So what if the troubles of America is too much to handle in 1 term or 2 terms of office. There will other Presidents that will pick up where he left off. For the Partisans in DR Land, its important for Obama to be successful for the simple reason your parties election next term depends on it. Blaming game can only take you so far

Do I have your name written wrong on the DR military list? See back page for thread "Happy 4th of July"

It says "CMPBELL72 - USMC"

Leave me a post either here or there and I'll correct it if it's wrong. I was sure I had it right, but maybe not.

With us or against us related to the war on terror, not domestic politics. As to the firings of people who weren't yes-men; are you referring to 8 federal judges that were fired in 2007? If you look into the precedent it's not something unique to Bush Replacing U.S. attorneys stretches back to Reagan.

Powell, a West Pointer, obeys orders first and last, which explains any stupidities perpetrated during the Bush era. I doubt that he has the innards to regret any speeches made on his CiC's behalf.

Obama is a center centrist - never pretended to be anything else - who wastes far too much rubber while spinning his wheels trying to placate the very idiots who label him "soshalist."

Obama has the mandates and the congressional majority to start undoing some of the Bush damage NOW. Those who worked hardest in his behalf do grow a bit tired of waiting. herm
