At a healthcare forum in Virginia, Obama called randomly on three audience members. All turned out to be members of groups with close ties to his administration: the Service Employees International Union, Health Care for America Now, and Organizing for America, which is a part of the Democratic National Committee. White House officials said that was a coincidence.

there are no coincidences within this entire administration - EVERYTHING is being carefully orchestrated - no more joe the plumbers.

p.s. - they'll probably retire old helen thomas from the w.h. press corps for having the audacity to question gibblets the way she did the other day...

Talk about dingbat paranoia.

Any response to the article, Starvis?

question gibblets the way she did the other day...

Gibblets--hehe

Obama the phoney POTUS--from start to finish--which is hopefully in 2012.

Why don't they give her the phone number for Medicaid?

Oh--maybe she's lying about her assests--that's why.

all the winking going on in this admin - one would think they all have turettes!

Or some half-assed notion about what that might be. Right, Nanc?

"turettes(sic)"

Whatever that is.

"Oh--maybe she's lying about her assests--that's why."

One thing's for sure, she'd probably be better off working and saving for her treatment than wandering around looking for hugs from Obama.

"One thing's for sure, she'd probably be better off working and saving for her treatment "

The cancer made her too weak to work.

I remember Clinton's staged "town meeting" years ago when a plant used the same tactic of wild helplessness and Bill replied, "I feel your pain."
I sure hope Obama is not doing that stuff. It's a bad sign.

DIABLO

Planted questions aren't a sign of anything.

I've done dozens of meeting with Q & A's and I always "plant" someone in the audience to get the ball rolling. It's a means to protect the speaker from any reticence on the part of the audience to speak up.

I picked the people and I wrote the questions. They were all ligitiment questions that any normal person would ask.

The plants were used "as needed" only and frankly, I don't know of anybody in my position who doesn't do the same thing.

It's a very common practice.

The problem here is that it is deception, pure and simple.

SUCKERS

It does not matter if someone is doing it or someone has done it in the past.

So much for transparency.

I've done dozens of meeting with Q & A's and I always "plant" someone in the audience to get the ball rolling

So Obama got the ball rolling...

The president called randomly on three audience members. All turned out to be members of groups with close ties to his administration: the Service Employees International Union, Health Care for America Now, and Organizing for America, which is a part of the Democratic National Committee. White House officials said that was a coincidence.

and rolling, and rolling.

Now we have Obama the
faith-healer
.......
"White House officials said that was a coincidence."
Although the crowd was hand picked, it truly was a coincidence

The most dramatic moment came from Debby Smith, 53, of Appalachia, Va., who was near tears as she described for Obama her fragile health, including a recently discovered tumor for which she cannot get treatment.

Just to get the ball rolling...

Playing to people's heart is a brilliant political move, just as effective as using people's fear.

I understand, Twinpac. It's more the wild-eyed crying help me plants I meant. That hysteria is juvenile.

Ahh, the puppetmaster pulls the strings and the kool-aid drinkers fall in line like good little lemmings.

I saw through the community organizers scam long before the election. It is interesting though that some fairminded people are finally coming to their senses like Colin Powel and Helen Thomas.

The womans story was real, and all you shit-heads can focus on is that she was "planted". You pieces of shit don't seem to realize that she is not alone in her misery. She represents thousands in similar circumstances who were Not "planted".

Your compassion for fellow Americans is noted, shit-heads, pat yourselves on the back as you tell Jesus how holy you've been next time you are in church.

"turettes(sic)"

Whatever that is.

Always glad to be of service, Zat, even when replying to sarcasm.

The more common spelling is "Tourette's."

Excerpt:

Tourette's syndrome is a relatively common childhood-onset disorder defined by persistent motor and vocal tics and frequently associated with obsessions, compulsions, and attentional difficulties.

By the way, you do get the joke, don't you Zat. You're not such a dour old fellow that it eludes you? Are you? Remember "Wink. Wink." The winks compared to someone subject to involuntary tics.

I didn't view it, but I'm certain the woman's story was compelling. Just as Oprah Winfrey has "monetized misery," Obama a man who was her fellow church goer for years until it became unwise for either of them to continue to associate with Rev. Wright, has similarly "politicized misery" as a political tool. Oprah uses misery of others to make money and Obama uses misery of others to secure support for his programs and votes.

I do wonder if this woman's reported situation is truthful. Remember the woman whose situation Obama promised "to look into," with the insinuation she would receive the home she wanted. Didn't it devleop that she and her son had money and owned property? Does this woman actually have access to medical resources?

With someone "as honest as a Chicago machine politician" at the helm, you never know.

Buffalo Bob, you just don't get it. Government is the problem in many cases not the solution. If poor people were not taxed to death they probably could afford some level of health care. Secondly, government is in part responsible for the cost increases for health care.

What you want Bob is for us to keep paying higher and higher taxes so your liberal loonie tunes government can control our behavior in every way.
Unfortuneately, not everyone can be or wants to be saved.

Ask yourself this why does it now cost more on a yearly basis for the average person for health care cost than both housing and transportation combined? Most people see a doctor once or twice a year and most go dozens of years between hospital stays. Even considering the cost of medicine the cost is way out of line with the service and supplies given.

My last visit to a med center to get a tetanus shot cost me about $125. I was only there for 30 minutes and the doctor was only in the room maybe 5 minutes. If I had went to a hospital it would have cost me about $400 for the same service.

The problem with health care is not coverage it is cost. There are no mechanisms in place to drive down cost. Ask any hospital to give you a list of prices for procedures and service and they will just laugh at you. When 10 different people can be charged completely different prices for the same service at the same hospital then something is wrong.

If you really want to help people then lobby those nasty liberals and rascally republicans in congress to put in measures to improve disclosure and create pricing competion among hospitals and doctors.

Buzkiller

Buffalo Bob, you just don't get it. Government is the problem in many cases not the solution.

Bullshit--you heard that on the radio and you picked it up as a part of your "wisdom". It is a brainwashing package you simply don't recognize. The government is very efficient and capable.

If poor people were not taxed to death they probably could afford some level of health care.

Poor people pay zero taxes. Poor people have trouble keeping the lights on and food on the table--expenses for health care come when someone gets sick. You should try being poor sometime--maybe it would give you some perspective

Secondly, government is in part responsible for the cost increases for health care.

How so?

What you want Bob is for us to keep paying higher and higher taxes so your liberal loonie tunes government can control our behavior in every way.

No, what I want is reduced taxes and a single payer health system. This is entirely possible with raising taxes on the rich. This would lower employer insurance cost, and allow them to give raises to their employees instead of paying into a health care system that can deny health care when you need it.

Unfortuneately, not everyone can be or wants to be saved.

Unfortunately, not everyone will be saved.

Ask yourself this why does it now cost more on a yearly basis for the average person for health care cost than both housing and transportation combined?

And you think this is a GOOD thing and want to stick with it?-----and you call the LEFT Loony?

Most people see a doctor once or twice a year and most go dozens of years between hospital stays. Even considering the cost of medicine the cost is way out of line with the service and supplies given.

See France. #1 Health care service in the WORLD---and we're #37. Can you take a fucking hint? If we are too stupid to figure out how it is done---let's see how they do it?

My last visit to a med center to get a tetanus shot cost me about $125. I was only there for 30 minutes and the doctor was only in the room maybe 5 minutes. If I had went to a hospital it would have cost me about $400 for the same service.

France=zero. HELLLOOOOOOOO

The problem with health care is not coverage it is cost. There are no mechanisms in place to drive down cost.

Of course there are. People (Americans) pay less in in Canada for drugs that are made in America than they can buy them for in America. The government can control the prices of drugs and still ensure that the drug companies make a nice profit.

Ask any hospital to give you a list of prices for procedures and service and they will just laugh at you.

Not my hospital---they provide that with no complaints.

When 10 different people can be charged completely different prices for the same service at the same hospital then something is wrong.

They should be charged nothing. Something IS wrong. See FRANCE.

If you really want to help people then lobby those nasty liberals and rascally republicans in congress to put in measures to improve disclosure and create pricing competion among hospitals and doctors.

Terrible idea. Write your congressional personnel and tell them you demand a single payer health system

"Poor people pay zero taxes."

I'm sure they'll be intrigued to hear payroll taxes aren't taxes, sales taxes aren't taxes, utility taxes aren't taxes, property taxes aren't taxes, excise taxes aren't taxes....

When ALL taxes are taken into consideration, all five quintiles pay about 17%-21% of their incomes in taxes.

Danforth

I meant federal taxes due on April 15th. If they have a job, they generally get the tax back in a refund. Most POOR people though, don't have a job. That's what makes them poor. They end up paying no Federal tax. Of course there is sales tax, but not in all States--Oregon has no sales tax. I would say in those States, poor people end up paying zero taxes other than for utilities. Poor people don't own much property for property taxes---do you know what POOR means?

Danforth

In addition, you take five words out of that post and focus on that. Anything else? Did you see anything else, or were those five words the max you could handle?

" Anything else? Did you see anything else, or were those five words the max you could handle?"

I see when you can't directly answer the question, you deflect back at the questioner.

Again: please explain how smokestacks can exist in an environment sans oxygen.

Re: #33: Sorry, wrong thread.

"Danforth I meant federal taxes due on April 15th."

Then say what you mean. You posted "Poor people pay zero taxes", which is bullshit.

"I would say in those States, poor people end up paying zero taxes other than for utilities."

Too bad you never heard of things like, gasoline or payroll taxes.

"Poor people don't own much property for property taxes"

Property taxes, among other things, are reflected in rent.

"Danforth I meant federal taxes due on April 15th."

Then say what you mean. You posted "Poor people pay zero taxes", which is bullshit.

Not really--in the context I was talking about with Buzkiller--they pay zero Taxes. Buzkiller and I were talking about Federal taxes. You just stuck your nose in and made it ALL taxes.

"I would say in those States, poor people end up paying zero taxes other than for utilities."

Too bad you never heard of things like, gasoline or payroll taxes.

Too bad you think all poor people have a job and a car.

"Poor people don't own much property for property taxes"

Property taxes, among other things, are reflected in rent.

You think rent is property tax? I can't refute such brain damaged logic.

"Buzkiller and I were talking about Federal taxes."

Then you were still wrong. Gasoline taxes, excise taxes, and payroll taxes are all Federal taxes.

"Too bad you think all poor people have a job and a car."

I don't. But when they do, they're paying Federal taxes.

"You think rent is property tax? I can't refute such brain damaged logic."

Property taxes are one of the calculations taken into account when a landlord determines what to charge for rent. Not all, of course. Did you actually think I was suggesting rent only reflects property taxes? I can't debate with such brain-damaged logic!
