Managua Mayor Arguello, former boxing champ, dies

MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- Managua Mayor Alexis Arguello, a former world boxing great, died at his home Wednesday of a single gunshot to the chest, authorities said in ruling the death a probable suicide.

A "suicide" with a body shot from a handgun. A shot that penetrated the heart and left lung. That's pretty awkward positioning.

Possibly he wanted to "Live fast, Love hard, and Die young, and leave a good-looking corpse not disfigured by a head shot. I wonder what the incidence of such suicides with a handgun body shot, is. Among Latins that is, since there are certain cultural proclivities. In the U.S. military, Hispanic "Medal of Honor" winners won disproportionately for throwing themselves on a live grenade thus saving others in the vicinity. Maybe some forensic expert knows how common body shot handgun suicides are. Also Catholic suicide?

Is something rotten in the State of Nicaragua?

that's alot of fighting and alot of wins.
I used to like boxing until I went to see professional boxing live.The sweet science on TV,but it was tough for me to watch live.As Johnson said the other day,I guess I don't have the balls.
