Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The July issue of Rolling Stone has an article about a different type of rock star: the Goldman Sachs investment banker. The article, called "The Great American Bubble Machine," was written by Matt Taibbi. In it, he viciously attacks Goldman Sachs through a series of arguments, blaming the bank for engineering virtually every bubble, and pseudo-bubble, that has plagued the economy over the past hundred or so years.

Paulsen should have been arrested under Bush--resigned after he proposed that bullshit.

And Thimmy the tax cheat is no better--same GS BS guy as Paulson.

Hmmm. See my boycott thread. It would have been illegal to boycott Goldman-Sachs based on the ethnic name of the company. If what the article says is correct, we would have been violating federal law trying to act (as one might see it) morally.

Murphy, I agree. Paulsen should be in Levinworth for his scam.

Is Goldman Sachs The Root Of All Evil?

Goldman Sachs may not be Satan himself, but apparently had no problem with letting themselves become one of the devil's disciples.

I posted a thread on that article that went absolutely nowhere.

I posted a thread on that article that went absolutely nowhere.

I've had that happen to me too. It's funny how timing means a lot as to whether or not one's article receives any attention.

Sometimes just one day too early, or one day too late, and you find people's attention spans are directed elsewhere. Perhaps it's because of today's instantaneous ability to be flooded 24/7 with news from all over the world that timing becomes even more crucial.

You gotta write a catchy headline too. I have had things I posted go unnoticed until Rcade alters the headline and then it explodes. I really suck at headlines it seems.

"You gotta write a catchy headline too."

Yeah, you have to have the words "sarah palin" in there somewhere.

LOL

Palin reads "Is Goldman Sachs the Root of All Evil?" would get a 72 point font headline probably.

PS- spellcheck keeps wanting to change "Palin" to "Plain" and I agree.

hah hah... I wouldn't go as far as a 72 point headline. And I think the issue has more to do with us than it does with rcade.

Rcade would have to give it the headline due to the massive number of hits it would be getting.

The Obama admin just looooves Goldman Sachs!

*** Is Goldman Sachs The Root Of All Evil? ****

.....Oooops ! .. misread Goldman's Sack......

I like Taibbi a lot. I posted an article of his a year or two ago that annoyed a few people here.

But this article is conspiracy theory bs, imo.

"I posted an article of his a year or two ago that annoyed a few people here."

reading it now... hysterical. I'm not surprised that it upset one or two.

I loved this line, HC.

"His political ideal is basically a rehash of the Blair-Clinton "third way" deal, an amalgam of Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton and the New Deal; he is aiming for the middle of the middle of the middle."

And this is dead on, not to mention, fine writing...

"he tries, and often succeeds, at selling a politics of seeking out the very center of where we already are, to the very couch where we've been sitting all this time, as an exciting, revolutionary journey into the unknown."

How about this one?

"In short, Obama is a creature perfectly in tune with the awesome corporate strivings of Hollywood, Madison avenue and the Beltway -- he tries, and often succeeds, at selling a politics of seeking out the very center of where we already are, to the very couch where we've been sitting all this time, as an exciting, revolutionary journey into the unknown."

Oh, you got it first.

Some lines just grab you :)

Wonder how he feels now about Obama and his lying ?

I posted on that thread.

If you can post a Headline

"Obama Phucks Us Over--Again"

That'll get some posts!
