Rep. Ron Paul so far has won 245 co-sponsors to a bill that would require a full-fledged audit of the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010

"Ron, I am proud of you., but it will never happen. Bernanke will crash the whole economy before he allows the books to be examined." M.R. of WRH

Frank needs a ?

Let's see... Frank took it in the fanny from the guy that ran Freddie, then we all took it in the 401K.

I think the gov't watchdogs that were supposed to be protecting citizens from people like Maddoff should be tried and, if convicted, forced to share a cell with him now. Maddoff got 150 years, they should too. Add Dodd and Blarney to that growing list of people who should be held to account.

Now Blarney is trying to protect the people at the Fed Reserve... wonder who all is getting fucked this time (besides the American public, of course).

Come on guys. We can't audit the Federal Reserve!

Didn't you see what Bernanke said? If an audit it allowed it could cause serious problems for the economy. Right now, making sure we're pumping billions upon billions of fake-from-thin-air-backed-by-
wishful-thinking-money from the Federal Reserve into the economy is far more important than knowing what they've been up to for the past several decades!

Audit the Fed and say good bye to the dollar as world currency. If you were a business would you open your books to your competitors? No worry, this won't pass in the Senate. It is a nice campaign talking point though for Congressmen running for reelection.

it won't happen.

Still no answer on your change of heart from your position from a few months ago, Danni?

Obama, though, voiced confidence in Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke last Tuesday and defended the Fed's overall ability to regulate effectively as well as his proposal to give the body more power.
What a fuck stick.

Danni defends the no-accountability no-transparency for the Fed stance based on partisanship. If Obama was an 'R' she'd be waving the pom-poms for this bill.

If you were a business would you open your books to your competitors?

Oversight deary. They are printing our money without any oversight by Congress. That's supposed to be the job of the Treasury. Some of us actually care about the fact that the Fed purposefully depreciates the dollar every day of its existence.

There should be 435 votes in the House for doing this, and 100 senators in agreement.

Maybe, but I doubt it.

I remember that Danni said we needed to rid ourselves of the Federal Reserve because I responded with "wow danni, I never thought you were a paultard." Sadly, I can't find the thread and google site search doesn't yield the thread either.

So, I'm thinking Danni's change is something else. She's definitely defending zero accountability/zero transparency, but I think it's because she's scared shitty by the words of Bernanke.

As I've said before. It's like Republicans a few years ago wetting their pants when one of the Bush Administration folks said "terrorist", "9/11" or "islamofacist".

Danni, I thought you hated the Federal Reserve? Must have gotten your fresh set of talking points eh?

I thought you really wanted to get to the bottom of what ails us? Or did you decide to just throw up your hands and officially call in "the free market's fault"?

It's pure economic terrorism. Just like the 401k threats in September that everyone ate up, instead of calling it terrorism like it is.

These people are criminals. They need to be held accountable. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, but a pound of cure is better than nothing.

Hint Axiom,

Use Yahoo instead of Google. For some reason when I'm searching for old posts Yahoo does a better job of finding them.

For your info:

Probably the first step would be to stop paying interest to the Federal Reserve and to start printing our own money. Expect an assasination if Obama has the guts to propose such a radical idea.

Wow.

A Paultard. I never thought I'd see the day. Welcome to the club. Meetings are on Wednesdays. Bring finger sammiches, we've got cookies and juice!

Thanks LoD. I knew it was in there somewhere.

So shall we take wagers on what her excuse will be?

Ron Paul is a truly interesting man. I think he is like Barry Goldwater (the only Republican I ever voted for to be president) in that everyone seems to view him as radical while at the same time agreeing with a lot of what he says.
I also note Paul is a constant critic of his own party. I know THAT lonely feeling very well. God bless the man. This is a good idea he is pushing and long overdue.

Seriously, should anyone take a word these people say at face value?

ideology triumphs over pragmatism is not the only reality Danni now embraces...she's worried about ex-CIA Obama's life, too...as we all should be if he has the guts to do the really right thing
