South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford said Tuesday that he "crossed lines" with a handful of women other than his mistress -- but never had sex with them. "This was a whole lot more than a simple affair, this was a love story," Sanford said of his extramarital transcontinental coitus with Maria Belen Chapur, a line he crossed five times this year. "A forbidden one, a tragic one, but a love story at the end of the day."

How many more chapters to this story?

Only Fred and Jesus know. After all it was part of "Gawd's" plan and other unrelated mularkey.

...another line this hypocrital dick crossed is his role in the $50 million Impeachment of Clinton. Another worthless partisan hack.

Rethuglicans conisder it AOK to waste money on Impeaching Clinton, invading Iraq, privatizing anything and everything, but they don't want a dime spent on the ordinary human beings.

Why are all the people I encounter who subscribe to this Group End Up Being Nothing but Lying Pieces of Shit?

Probably for the same reason that a lot of damaged people study psychology.

If you have to join a group to learn why to keep your promises ...

"I crossed the line, but did not have sex with any of those women".

How Clintonian.

#2 - Funny flag for the Dude.

You know what term you never hear much these days? "Extramarital transcontinental coitus." I like the sound of that one. Abbreviated to "etc."

Maybe I'll try that with the wife.

"Honey, I'm going for a walk, etc. Be back in a week!"

And your wife will probably say: "cbob, honey, then you better keep right on walkin'"

And he said publically that his mistress was his "sole mate", but was trying to fall back in love with his wife. Dude is toast politically and at home.

And he said publically that his mistress was his "sole mate", ...

His mistress meant nothing more to him than some old shoe?

Can't blame him for desperately hanging onto his job, awaiting God to open a dorr or a window or loan him some loose change, not matter how politically emasculated he is-who'd hire this guy to do anything?

Chris, honey?

She's a whore.

"""Sanford wrote in a message to his political action committee e-mail list on Monday that while he considered resigning, "I would ultimately be a better person and of more service in whatever doors God opened next in life if I stuck around to learn lessons rather than running and hiding down at the farm.""""

What a fucking schmuck. Looks like your god opened a door alright, a trap door. Buh-bye now, buh-bye.

Enough about Sanford.

Where's Cap and Trade?

Wouldn't it be funny if Franken got into the Senate just in time for the Cap and Trade vote and it passed? Franken would go down in history as the politician who sunk America! LOL!!!

Sanford will probably be double X soon.

X Governor

X Husband.

Cap and Trade? More like Tap and Fade.

I don't know that the lady is a whore. Is this true? I'm willing, now, to give the man the benefit of the doubt. You know why?

Because now he is starting to sound honest. It sounds to me like at this moment in time, he is actually in love with the lady and not in love with his wife. We all know the difference between loving someone (his wife) and being in love with someone (his mistress).

I'm curious what you ladies think here. Does the fact that he is rich and powerful make him more forgivable? I'm not talking about politically, I mean personally.

You mean SENATOR Al Franken?

What is funny is the women who are liberal are falling all over this guy--because of his emails!

They think Sanford is hot!

There is a group of women who are backing Jenny--they even have t-shirts.

He needs to shut up.

He needs to shut up.

His poor wife. He just keeps coming out with TMI, and its like heaping burning coals on her head.

He is a classic idiot - married his wife for her money and now she knows it.

You mean SENATOR Al Franken?

No, Al Franken the shoe salesman in Fresno.

Googled 'the shoe salesman in Fresno' and ... hit #5 ...

Sanford must have something going for him but I sure don't know what 'cause he sure doesn't have any sex appeal whatsoever.

As long as he didn't cross state lines with these women...

Tommorow's headline: Sanford - I crossed streams with Larry Craig.

It was only a blowjob and a love affair. We forgive you Mark just like we forgave Bill Clinton.

"Why are all the people I encounter who subscribe to this Group End Up Being Nothing but Lying Pieces of Shit?"

Excellent question, Redneckville.
It is because if you and I declare murder is wrong, and either you or I then murder, it has nothing to do with the fact murder is still wrong. It does not mean either of us was a lying...well, your words. Or are you perfect?
I don't know which "Promise Keepers" you encountered. Were all dishonest (after they made the promise; Don't get hair-splitting)?
I frankly think you "encountered" them only in media reports. I might be wrong, but the "all the people I encounter" claim has me wondering.
What if Betty Friedan, the original Feminist, opposed getting an abortion? Wait! She opposes abortion....but the left would never allow a deviating view to reach mass consumption in the "arena of ideas."

Where is the GOP apologist Nanc with her comments??

I tend to be less forgiving of the rich and powerful. With privilege comes responsibility, and all that.

This story is absolutely incredible. The women I know who put up with cheating husbands maintain their dignity (as they see it) by believing that their marriage is based on deep love, while their husbands' cheating was all about cheap thrills. "Soul mate"? "Trying to fall back in love with my wife"??? I don't know whether to believe he is a complete idiot, a certifiable lunatic, a vicious sadist, or all of the above.

If a man truly loves his wife he won't cheat. The wife should drop his ass like a hot potato.

LIP

From this lady's point of view, Sanford probably has a lot of respect for his Mrs. (mother of his children and all that) but I suspect his marriage has been "passionless" in the bedroom for many years, which is not an uncommon situation.

As I see it, he can force himself to stay with his wife and the two of them can grow old and semi-miserable together.

Or he can go for the brass ring and maybe live out the rest of his life passionately in love with the woman at his side.

My guess . . . he and his wife will make an arrangement to stay together for the balance of his term (for appearances sake) and then he'll head South of the Border as soon as his divorce is final.

Both choices are bumpy roads but there's not a doubt in my mind that Governor Sanford will follow his heart . . . eventually.

Not every man's passion is another woman.

I know a guy who's passion was Alaska. He and his wife lived in a respectful but loveless marriage for 30 years. They were both good Christian people who raised two fine sons. One day he just up and disappeared without explanation.

The last I heard he was still in Alaska and finally at peace in his heart.

Sanford probably has a lot of respect for his Mrs.

That's what you infer from his telling the AP that he's not in love with her, and Chapur is his true soulmate? (Feeling that way is one thing. Announcing it to the press is quite another.)

"Appearance's sake"? Seems to me that ship has sailed.

Seems to me that ship has sailed. - PHOENIX

Not necessarily.

Not that anybody is going to be really fooled but as long as they don't throw bombs at each other in the media or draw negative attention to the State, I think South Carolina will be willing to wait it out.

It depends on how much the people of South Carolina like him. If he's popular they'll make the necessary excuses for him and look the other way.

If not . . . well then, he's toast.

I'm not sure he really cares which way it goes. He just wants to get back to Argentina as soon as he can and with the least amount of fuss.

When the heart is going pitty-pat, continents and oceans are no obstacle. Nor is politics.

Dems think its AOK to go to bed with an east german spy, start a big war with north viet nam, start the biges welfare system in the US, and give our hard earned tax dollars to wall street, not to mention taking over the auto industry. Oh, did I mention drowning drunk women?

Looks like both parties are out for themselves and not for us.

What an asshole...

Did you read what he said about "counting the cost" and it was worth it?

I wonder if he's considered a color-coded scheme like the homeland security warning system. Sounds like he's in the blue/green (cold) area right now. If he makes progress, he should move through yellow, orange, red...

Posting it on his website would save time and cut down on the level of detail he's feeding the press.

Rethuglican talking point:

"President Obama triggered the economic crisis (which began in anticipation of his election under President Bush) which prompted Congress to pass the stimulus legislation that caused Sanford to fly to Argentina to sleep with a woman other than his wife".

It will be interesting to see if perhaps Mark Sanford and Bill Clinton shared the same definition of what constituted "crossing the sex line" or not.

But he should resign because he broke his marriage vows. Unless he's a Republican because they're above God's Laws.
