WASHINGTON The Obama White House left open the possibility Sunday that the president would break a campaign promise and raise taxes on people earning less than $250,000 to support his health care overhaul agenda.

White House adviser David Axelrod said the administration wouldn't rule out taxing some employees' benefits to fund a health care agenda that has yet to take final form. The move would be a compromise with fellow Democrats, who are pushing the proposal as a way to pay for the massive undertaking without ballooning the federal deficit.

Hope and change

SUCKERS

This is change we can believe in. Yes we can... Yes we can....

While I think Obama is a fuck stick for even leaving open the possibility, that is not equivalent to "embracing."

I simply can not understand how liberals who voted for Barry are not upset at OBAMA/GOD, for "raising taxes on people earning less than $250,000 to support his health care overhaul agenda.". This is no big deal for Barry Cap and trade is the largest tax increase EVER, the health care tax is simply icing on the cake of lies spewed by the king of bullshit and yet liberals still will line up to lick the dingle berries off the messiahs ass

Especially BoOB

P.S Thanks for adding me to the list oh shit your not reading this sorry...

a lot of Obama supporters say that Obama's approval going forward rests with the economy.
And that is so convenient, as the economy is something that can supposedly be blamed on Bush should it not go well for the O man.

But I disagree.

Obama will harpoon his own self with these new tax increase ideas.

worst POTUS ever.

Ever? It will take a lot for Obama to screw up Dubya style. He is looking to screw up Carter style, but Carter was no where near the screw up Dubya was. Dubya being our President for 8 years is an embarrassment we will never get fully over.

And this after Obama spent $40,000,000.00 chastising McCain for proposing the same. However McCain was going to give everyone a $5,000 tax credit to make up for it. Obama just makes us poorer.

Ever? It will take a lot for Obama to screw up Dubya style.

I think it would be hard to objectively determine how bad Obama is "screwing up"

Just like it is hard to determine how bad W "screwed up"

So I guess you look at the approval rating and W went how far down? 27% ?

Will Obama reach as low as 27% approval?

I think there are circumstances built in that will help Obama avoid going as low as 27% approval.

1. die hard lefties with a hatred of conservative approach to the size og=f govt. and hatred of a capitalist society will stick with Obama no matter what.
2. the NYT and MSNBC simply will not have any spinning of public opinion away from anything short of "obamalove" for the next 3.5 years.

but after the new tax ideas kick in, after destroying the healthcare industry, after inflation and then depression hits, I expect Obama to be in the 30's for approval rating

I don't go by polls or public opinion, but by my own internal guide. I viewed Clinton as a failure by his second term and sat out the 1996 elections as a result. I did not believe in Gore or Bush and sat out 2000. By 2004, I felt Bush was a disaster and I voted Kerry. I am not a die-hard anything.

"...but after the new tax ideas kick in, after destroying the healthcare industry, after inflation and then depression hits, I expect Obama to be in the 30's for approval rating"

And by what date do you predict this?

White House adviser David Axelrod said the administration wouldn't rule out taxing some employees' benefits to fund a health care agenda that has yet to take final form.

That is supposed to be an "embrace" of the tax?

What a friggin reach.

We are experiencing "change that is transparent".

"That is supposed to be an "embrace" of the tax?"

While the headline is stupid, the message is there. Obama's taking baby steps. Spread out the outrage by first saying you "won't rule something out," then eventually do it by burying the provision in a 2,000 page healthcare bill that is worded in such a way that nobody will understand it until they feel poorer.

Well Joe, I hope that does not happen. But I see the writing on the wall as well.

Just like when SS was "reformed" to ensure it's long term solvency with the rate and base increased. That money was then diverted to income tax cuts instead of ensuring long term solvency.

I can see a modest tax coming that will gradually be raised as "unexpected" shortfalls in the program occur.

The same fucktards are running the show, just their affiliation is different.

Well gee, Danforth, you want me to put a particular date on those things happening -

well it will take a little time but I will say by the end of the first term, K?

what else can I do for you.

I mean, some people are saying I am raising their taxes.......now, now, let's be clear. Listen. If- if you want this awesome healthcare program to work , you -you have to understand that we....we all have to sacrifice a little bit here ...for the common good.........

I can already hear it

No matter what Obama or any other politico says, anybody who doesn't think that taxes will eventually need to be raised to cover new spending and after years of revenue shortfalls caused in part by some irresponsible tax cuts and spending, is extremely naive. All politicos know this, but they also know that proposing tax increases on the largest segments of the population during campaigns will never get them elected.

It never ceases to amaze me that while most people expect their roads to be repaired, their country to be defended, children and grand-children to be educated, crime to be prevented and punished, fires to be extinguished...(we could go on all day), nobody wants to pay their share of the bills for these services. Guess what folks; we don't get these services free!

Never pay attention to what he says; rather pay attention to what he does. Rarely will his words match his actions.

well it will take a little time but I will say by the end of the first term, K?

what else can I do for you.

That's right , Buttnut...

I am predicting he will end his run as President in 2012 with his approval in the 30's -

You wanna man up and make YOUR prediction?

I didn't think so.

Sometimes, the way you screw the country is popular but still wrong. Look at FDR?

We are still trying to cope with all the socialist bullshit that was implemented. I believe Obama will out socialize FDR. The impact won't be seen by low poll numbers, but with a gradual decline from superpower to could-have-been to what-ever-happened-to to gone-and-forgotten.

This road is covered with grease, it is a steep decline, and we are picking up speed... next stop... hell.

This is a good idea, actually. Obamacare is going to be very, very expensive. And we deserve to pay for the disaster that we've put into the White House.

IMO, they should deduct the cost from every paycheck and Social Security check issued, whether from a private employer or a public one. And on the remittance advice, it should say, "Obama Health Care Plan".

"Obamacare is going to be very, very expensive. "

Isn't the overall concept that a lower percentage of our GDP will be spent on health care? That we'll be trading expensive, curable disease for cheaper preventive care, and trading prohibitive ER trips for office visits?

If not, what's the point?

"IMO, they should deduct the cost from every paycheck and Social Security check issued, whether from a private employer or a public one. And on the remittance advice, it should say, "Obama Health Care Plan"."

Right after they do it for "Bush's Operation Iraqi Liberation".

Yes, that's the concept. Along with, "we should create an agency to help students pay for college, and in doing so, we can also keep tuition costs down." And, "with government funding at zero percent interest, AMTRAK will be profitable again without having to service debtholders."

And so it goes.

That we'll be trading expensive, curable disease for cheaper preventive care, and trading prohibitive ER trips for office visits?

LMAO
I love the way you say "WE"

As if the public is going to have any say at all.

Why dont you say :
