Vanity Fair: Despite her disastrous performance in the 2008 election, Sarah Palin is still the sexiest brand in Republican politics, with a lucrative book contract for her story. But what Alaska's charismatic governor wants the public to know about herself doesn't always jibe with reality. As John McCain's top campaign officials talk more candidly than ever before about the meltdown of his vice-presidential pick, the author tracks the signs -- political and personal -- that Palin was big trouble, and checks the forecast for her future.

One-Trick Pony Whineshitbot Now Officially Irrelevant

I knew I could get one of the PWZ Triglodytes to yelp. Cookie, where's the Obama/grape soda joke?

Quotas for firefighters might be verboten, but thank God we still have them for Palin and Rush stories, here on the DR.

You should read the piece, Cookfish. It's got a lot of pro-Palin stuff in there along with anti-Palin stuff.

It's funny how the left claims to hate Sarah, but they make sure there is always a thread about her on the DR.

This is front page news? Ahead of the story on the EPA?

This is front page news?

It's not even news. It's an op-ed piece.

The left claims that Sarah keeps herself in the spotlight. This article and this thread proves that is not always the case.

Can't we focus on the King of Pop, and that fucking tragedy?

It's not even news. It's an op-ed piece.

It's a feature story from a magazine. Not really an op-ed.

"Quotas for firefighters might be verboten"

Putting a proponent of institutionalized racism on the Supreme Court isn't news compared to some dingbat screaming for attention.

It's a feature story from a magazine. Not really an op-ed.

OK. But it's not news. But it is opinion piece, if not an opinion-editorial

Just out of curiosity, why isn't the title, "She Came From Wasilla"?

Can you imagine one of the libbies' icons described in the impersonal? "It Came From Chicago"? "The Thing From Hope"?

Whatever though. It keeps the rabid lefties going, and ignoring the fact that Obanomics is falling apart at the seams.

You need to start focusing on other women with teenage daughters when you wack it, Whineshitbot/baldy. Your obsession with this woman is very unhealthy, and will only lead to more of your stalking behavior. Tsk tsk.

"Obanomics is falling apart at the seams"

Which, for RiR, means the Dow going from 6600 to 8500 while he's selling short.

6 pages of Palin?!?!?!?!

Someone has WAY too much time on their hands.

Which, for RiR, means the Dow going from 6600 to 8500 while he's selling short.

Uh huh. Well, I've been selling short since 12,000, and with half an hour to go, we're up 28.218% for the first half of year.

You should see the trades we put on this morning, for July expiry. Genius.

After reading that article I feel I know more about Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin knows about anything.

should I dump my Bank of America?

It's funny how the left claims to hate Sarah, but they make sure there is always a thread about her on the DR.

we love her. She torpedoed John McLost and will drag down the NOP in 2012. Hell, even that fundie whackjob from Oklahoma blames her brood for the downfall of America.

She is, indeed, the gift that keeps on giving. When she's not taking form the RNC or Alaska Treasury, that is.

we love her.

It shows. Why do you love her so? Most people don't love the people they berate

After reading that article I feel I know more about Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin knows about anything.

Like a lot of libs, you think your feelings automaticly make facts. You may hate Palin, and she has done/said some really stupid stuff, but her resume puts your resume to shame (kind of embarrising on your part). Get over the hate and institutional sexism against powerful conservitive women.

Whatever, Govenor.

What a fucking joke this "woman" is.

She isn't the joke.

The joke is the people that think she is qualified to be President.

I don't really have anything against Palin, but her supporters for National Office ought to be shot dead for the sake of humanity.

Just out of curiosity, why isn't the title, "She Came From Wasilla"?

Seniority: 334

I notice that many of the righties become quite offended when Palin is criticized. She is their 'great white hope' and don't like it that we laugh at her. I can only wish her well and hope she is successful in getting the Republican nomination for president, I hear Obama will probably be contributing to her campaign fund.

"Just out of curiosity, why isn't the title, 'She Came From Wasilla'?"

Because It Came From Wasilla evokes the Friday Night Creature Feature scariness of That Thing much better.

You asked.

Up to you. But you might want to think about writing call options against them.

Ex: it closed today at $13.20. You can sell July 14 calls for $0.35 a share: if BAC goes to $14 by July 18, it'll be sold from you at $14 a share, PLUS the $.35 you make for selling the call. And if it doesn't, you just keep the options premium, then do something similar in August.

In this market, all the money we're making is from options premium. I'm beating the market by 3000 basis points since the start of the year, and 6500 basis points on a rolling 12. If there's a way to do THAT without covered call writing, show me how.

Damn this hear ain't wright. First the cummedian from Minnersota gets appointed by the surpreme courts of the Minnersota and then this hear queer fella writes him a bad article about the Sarah Barricuder Palinator. I can't take anymores of this hear defermation and sochallisms. I just popped four Oxy's and took a good swig of Jesus Juice (PTL). I'm a fixing to call Al-Rushbo for him to come on over to the trailer to partay down. Last time I got all wankered on the oxys and Jessus Juice the old lady wanted to drive on up to AlaskaLand to have a look at them commies over the river in Russia. THem fags at the border to Canada wouldn't let us over the stupid border acuz the stupid old lady fergot to put the new tags on my Hemi. The old lady gets all frisky on the Jesus Juice and Oxy's and she ain't looking so much like a sasquatch when I'm all wankered up like my hero Al-Rushbo.

Why do you love her so?

Because her existence is an insurance policy for the continued NOPper minority status.

I don't care for palin one way or another, but your posts are just small comments from a small person. What offends you most about her? Is it that she has accomplished something with her life, or is it that she just belives something different than you, and you are so closed minded that you hate anything that does not belive the way you do?

The bitch (Sarah) is fucking lights are on but no one's home crazy.

I'll answer that one for you Danni.

I don't really have anything against Palin, but her supporters for National Office ought to be shot dead for the sake of humanity.

Jerry T is just making dumbass remarks, and Many P takes it a bit far, but I agree she does not need to be in national office (and neither should Al F.), but man give her a little credit for what she has accomplished. No fair minded person can say she has not accomplished a lot, even if you don't like her, or think she has hit the top of her ability.

The bitch (Sarah) is fucking lights-are-on-but-no-one's- home crazy.

That's why she is an rtard hero.

again small comments, small people. Why is there so much hate?

"again small comments, small people. Why is there so much hate?"

Perhaps Palin and her "real Americans" should be who you ask that question. Us Democrats didn't invent the term "real Americans" and try to pretend that our opponents were somehow less American than we are.

Perhaps Palin and her "real Americans" should be who you ask that question. Us Democrats didn't invent the term "real Americans" and try to pretend that our opponents were somehow less American than we are.

shitty deflection.

The FUNNIEST part of the entire campaign and the thing that began the downhill slide was this:

COURIC: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?

PALIN: I've read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media

COURIC: But what ones specifically? I'm curious.

PALIN: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years.

COURIC: Can you name any of them?

PALIN: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news.

The best part was when the right tried to paint it as a 'gotcha moment' and the Palin herself went on to accuse Couric of setting her up with that question.

As soon as Americans heard that line of bullshit, they knew she was a fraud.

Imagine that! The nerve of asking a person a heartbeat away from the presidency what they use to get their news. HOW DARE THEY ASK THAT!!!

Lefties like to think Sarah will be the GOP nominee in 2012, but I find it to be wishful thinking. As celebrated as she was by the party's "base" after her selection, I don't think they ever would have chosen her (or any woman) for the presidential spot on their own volition. No, the GOP nominee in 2012 will be a white man.

Lefties like to think Sarah will be the GOP nominee in 2012 ...

I think she's done.

"the GOP nominee in 2012 will be a white man"

Agreed. My early guess is Romney, since the economic situation will be worse and he'll be seen as the successful businessman savior (that's with a small "s").

Being from Massachusetts, I guess I'll have to join the republicans forums and tell them all about how he LOVED abortion when he was Governor of this state.

"Lefties like to think Sarah will be the GOP nominee in 2012 ..."

I don't think the Republican Party is that stupid.

Wow! I rarely comment on any Palin thread, but this article paints a hell of a picture of the woman who could've become our VP.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder sounds like it sums up the whole package pretty nicely:

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:[1]

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love (megalomania)
3. believes that he or she is "special" and can only be understood by, or should associate with, people (or institutions) who are also "special" or of high status.
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement
6. is interpersonally exploitative
7. lacks empathy
8. is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Of course, pretty much every pol in DC, and many more at the state level and below would fit the definition of NPD (5 or more criteria), but this Vanity Fair piece seems to establish that arguably all nine traits are recurring themes in Sarah!'s life. It also seems to make pretty clear that she becomes easily preoccupied with trivial emotional matters, even at the cost of missing the "big picture".

Is Palin keeping herself in the spotlight? Are the Libtards? The InfoSmutTainment Media? Who the hell knows - or cares?

At this point, it's like a perpetual feedback machine. She can't stand not having attention (now that she's gotten to experience the national stage), and her detractors relish the Schadenfreude served up by watching her every move.

Joe-if the NOPpers had any brains, they'd dump her like a load of ENRON stock.

But.....

Anyways, I expect she'll run in the primaries and that in itself will help torpedo the Mittster. He of the shaky "Family values" and funny underwear won't appeal to the Jayzuzz juice crowd that form the base of the NOP So he'll have to be even further right than Sarush, which will lose him the middle without convincing all of the extremists.

"My early guess is Romney"

As weird as mormons are, I think he'd be a better leader through the fiscal crisis than Obama. I might consider voting major party if he's on the ticket.

Sarah Palin just announced she's going to run:

www.runnersworld.com

www.runnersworld.com

That's a decent interview, I like the part about her offering to go running with John McCain and he says "I go wading."

Lefties like to think Sarah will be the GOP nominee in 2012 ...

"Why do lefties want her to be the nominee so badly?"

That, quite possibly, may be the stupidest question of all time. Or at least on the Drudge Retort.

Because they can whip their dicks raw at the thought.

You are a strange person indeed, Wisgod

Ryan in 2012 is like a cold shower.

Who?

Face it, the NOP contenders are gonna be Mitt and Newt. The rest are gonna be the RudiGs and Fredisdeds of 2008. If McLost had had a pair,he would have gone with Mitt instead of Sarush, but he chose to bow down to the Dobsonites. His loss, the world's gain.

#46 | Posted by Zarathustra

You just listed the qualitites and characteristics of Obama.

I like Sarah-- a lot.

Does she have more to learn--you betcha'!

If she participates in the 2012 run up to the primaries--the left will explode.

I like Newt and Mitt --both of them.

The author states the politically incorrect obvious:

"she is by far the best-looking woman ever to rise to such heights in national politics, the first indisputably fertile female .... captivated people who would never have given someone with Palin's record a second glance if Palin had looked like Susan Boyle."

What you see is what you get with Palin - an attractive, charismatic woman and a great vote getter. Unlike the dim bulb Bush where what you saw was his carefully crafted fake persona as a man of the people great to have a beer with and what you got were the mad dogs Cheney, Rumsfeld and the neocons.

Pity she's a whackjob and her opponent would be Obama, not Gore or Kerry.

Palin's good looking, but I wonder how far a woman can get in politics when part of her appeal is how she looks. It's not like Palin is going to get better looking over the years. That only happened to Angie Dickinson, and even then, somebody told me she used a body double in the steamy Dressed to Kill shower scene.

That, quite possibly, may be the stupidest question of all time. Or at least on the Drudge Retort.

By 2012, Murphy, I believe I can safely guarantee that none of the above will be a remotely credible candidate, and that if you don't find some other more credible person, the re-election of President Obama is even more of a foregone conclusion.

"By 2012, Murphy, I believe I can safely guarantee that none of the above will be a remotely credible candidate, and that if you don't find some other more credible person, the re-election of President Obama is even more of a foregone conclusion."

I still say we need a "None of the Above" option.

"Speaking of obsessions, it looks like Danforth has gotten inside Tubby Ted's melon."

And my harem of biatches increases.

"In Alaska," Ross told me, "a liberal is someone who carries a .357 or smaller."

I love that line.

As for the article-interesting piece. Personally, I don't think she has a snowball's chance in hell in 2012.

For every member of the base she attracts, she scares away an independent willing to consider voting R.

So unless the next year three years or so are REALLY bad and the repubs lose their base, I don't expect to see her as a significant force on any national ticket.

"hate" is such a harsh word.

Sarah Palin is too silly to hate. I think the left is mostly bemused by the arrogance of this lady who doesn't seem to realize that she's woefully, no-way-no-how, qualified for the Oval Office and all the problems in the world.

Yet she prattles on and on . . . jumping from one microphone to another, apparently confident in her ability to bullshit her way to the presidency.

I also don't think the "left" is her biggest problem.

John McCain and his former minions are working the media nicely (Vanity Fair for example) to make sure Palin gets cut off at the pass before she gives the GOP a worse brand name than the one they already have.

If she gets swamped in the coming months, the "left" will certainly be accomplices but not the primary conspirators in her destruction.

The "left" is too busy laughing at her antics. The GOP, on the other hand, is deadly serious.

Speaking of obsessions, it looks like Danforth has gotten inside Tubby Ted's melon.

How creepy is it that you dig into my user information like an obsessed little bitch, then have then nerve to talk about obsessions? LOL. You DO realize how stupid you sound, don't you? I guess you'll focus on me now instead of Palin, you sick strange little monkey. As for Danforth, I swat that irrelevant fly when it pleases me, as I aways have, so what's new there?.

me-thinks you got a bad read on the situation

a) the administration and far left Dems are terrified of Sarah (or someone like her)

b) IF voters ever figure out that a "regular citizen" with limited political experience could successfully hold "high national office" . . .

when that happens they are SCREWED - -

the elite political class (aka - Bush, Gore, Kerry, etc) whose families for generations have NEVER experienced a real job . . . SCREWED

the elite academics who develop policies affecting millions pf people based on something they MAY have read in a book , , , also SCREWED

the elite national media . . SCREWED too

the president doesn't need to know what or where the capital of Djibouti is - - the State department will know & advise

btw - - -(nation) Djibouti

1) capital - Djibouti

2) national anthem - Djibouti

I've been to Djibouti. I was there for the infamous Djibouti Boat Road of the USS Montgomery annals. The place sucks. I wish I didn't know where it was.

I'm not going to read the article, but is it true that she wrote an e-mail about the kid with Down's Syndrome from "god's" point of view and signed it "your heavenly father" or some crazy shit like that?

of pink on their new 48" high definition television sets.

THAT'S the difference.

Last year, she looked kinda good.

This year, with HD, she looks like a grandma with big pores.

Well, that and a lack of RNC makeup artists.

if not hogtied by McCain's inept staff of handlers - MARK

According to McCain staffers, she bucked them all the way so I don't think you can blame the staffers.

But that aside MARK.

Running in a primary cost $millions$ of dollars. Running in the general cost $millions$ more.

Be practical MARK. Where in the world is she going to get that kind of money? Even Guiliani, a Mayor of New York City, couldn't make it out of Florida. Huckabee ran out of money in Super Tuesday, Romney was on rations and yes, even Hillary Clinton had to loan herself an extra million or so.

These are people with some serious connections where money is concerned.

So before you get too far into the tank with Sarah Palin, I think you need to ask yourself a question or two about where all that money is going to come from.

I know there are people who like her but when it comes to their hard earned money, I think they'll draw the line at investing in lost causes.

Well, that and a lack of RNC makeup artists. - TEDBAXTER

I visited this thread in the hopes of getting some info about how NAG and other womens groups were all out to bitch about a woman being treated this shabbily AGAIN.
and AGAIN...they proved that I was right again to say it

they have all been completely worthless and unimportant since the president of the united states sexually harrassed a woman and they said

NOTHING.........

so once again..they show us just what I have said

the left is scared to FUCKIN DEATH of this woman....
and thus..she must be destroyed at all costs and no member of NAG or any other so called women rights group would DARE to speak out about this
