I know! Pass a carbon emission cap and trade bill, stifle manufacturing even more than NAFTA, tax people to force them to accept national health care and then, only then, the California economy will rise again!
I promise, I mean....really, it ....will...

God help the people of californistan. get out if you can. this will affect the entire nation and soon.

California has become a joke, unfortunately this is what the future of every state in the country looks like under President Obama. Cap and trade is the largest TAX INCREASE ever and the first nail in the coffin for all of us, then of course national health care and a 10 Trillion dollar deficit. Yep that's CHANGE WE CAN COUNT ON. Barry has lied to all the liberals who voted for him yet they still lick the dingle berries off his tea bags unbelievable...

God help the people of californistan. get out if you can. this will affect the entire nation and soon.

No, no! Stay where you are. Enough of you have already crossed the border. Halt the spread of Californitus. There is already a Swine flu pandemic; the US doesn't need a Whine flu pandemic.

Never set foot in my state, you jealous fucks. You're what ruined it for the natives like me.

And if you do leave, remember -- TEXAS SUCKS! Keep going east.

California has the worst credit rating in the country.

You think California now paying all their debts with IOUs might have something to do with it?

Once the US's richest state, California now has the dubious distinction of having the worst credit rating in the country.

Aren't you taking a chance putting up news like this article, Goatman? Reading this, Californians might actually begin to pack their bags and move to other states -- even to Texas!

You could be shooting yourself in the foot. LOL

Actually, I did it for the sole purpose of pushing moder8's buttons. After his glowing praises of California the last few days, he deserved it.

Actually, I did it for the sole purpose of pushing moder8's buttons....

That sure won't take much. I can already hear his "Goatroll" remarks being typed on his keyboard.

The CA Legislature has put forward two bills this week that both cut programs but raised revenue through fees and closed the budget gap but the republicans rejected both plans due to the 2/3 rule and anti-tax ideology. They simply want the State to fail while pointing fingers at democrats hoping for election period success.

The republicans want to dismantle the State and sell each profitable entity to private entities while leaving the less profitable to the people to support. They are willing to allow children to go hungry and die from simple ailments to achieve their privatization agenda.

If this plan works here, we will lose our representative government. We will be beholden to private industry for every aspect of the State services from the DMV to Welfare.

Is that what we want in this country? A corporate controlled state?

As they say, the way California goes, goes the rest of the nation...
