Worth gettting up for. I'll be watching the first one from the rig with binoculars, but I'll be able to point my 10" reflector at it on July 6 from ashore.

cool.. here in the Atlanta area we have so much ambient light that its sometimes very hard to see much of anything.
But, I have a cabin in the N Georgia mountains, and its a great place to observe.
Thanks for the reminder.

nmg: When I lived in Kennesaw, I was a member of the Atlanta Astronomy Club. They have (had?) an observatory in Villa Rica. They also have a couple of dark sky sites east and south of Atlanta. If you contact them (they have a web site) they will welcome you to view with them. If you decide to join, their membership (when I was a member) is only $25/yr. That includes full use of their observatories and access to their dark sky sites if you have your own 'scope. They also have a yahoogroups (I'm still on it) list that you could join.
