Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The hit to GDP is the real threat in this bill. The whole point of cap and trade is to hike the price of electricity and gas so that Americans will use less. These higher prices will show up not just in electricity bills or at the gas station but in every manufactured good, from food to cars. Consumers will cut back on spending, which in turn will cut back on production, which results in fewer jobs created or higher unemployment. Some companies will instead move their operations overseas, with the same result.

This hopefully will not pass the Senate.

THANKS OBAMA/GOD: I would like to AXE him if this is part of his promise not to raise taxes on anyone making less than 250k. No not one dime, fucking liar...

He is not done with his lying--

Barack Obama Is a Big Fat Liar
Obama spent $44 million attacking McCain for an idea that Obama no longer opposes.

By Jim Geraghty

Ever since Barack Obama declared his candidacy for president, it's been easy and great fun to spotlight when his promises and statements come with "expiration dates." The list is long: Public financing. Renegotiating NAFTA. His promise to support a filibuster of any bill that includes retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies. His inability to disown Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The release of detainee photos. Denouncing Turkey for genocide.

Flip-flops are nothing new in politics, but every once in a while, a president breaks a promise or an important pledge on such an epic level that it defines him, at least in part: "Read my lips: No new taxes." "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." "We did not repeat did not trade weapons or anything else for hostages nor will we." Even "I will never lie to you."

Barack Obama's sudden about-face on taxing employer-provided health insurance deserves to rank among these classics. Not because it's as laughable as Bill Clinton's, or as emphatic as George H. W. Bush's, but because it takes a certain moral venality to casually adopt, as president, a position that was a dominant theme of your argument for why your opponent should not be president.

"I would like to AXE him if this is part..."

What is it, exactly, that you seem to think is SO clever about that?

think of it this way - if it passes we're one step closer to third worldom and they can level the playing field quicker. ::spit::

Oh come on bro I have been educated in some of the best Florida public education schools in the system and while most of the country fucked off and ignored EBONICS we were actually educated in black culture and speech which you seem to find amusing...

The word is in fact pronouncEd "AXE" not ask...

That's pretty much the answer I expected.

Unbelievable....these people are fucking nuts.

Word --or rumor has it that there are 17 undecideds and they need 12 more votes to pass.

That's pretty much the answer I expected.

Hey dude being EBONICALY correct is nothing to fuck around with in black culture, it can be a life saver for example if you are in da hood it's ok to say "Hey what up XXXXA" but a person not educated in EBONICS might think the word is pronounced "XXXXER" in which case you may as well be a watermelon in a tarzan movie...

LOL Please you have no clue what third world is all about.

Third world countries don't pass cap and trade bills for starters...

You should live in one though seriously, you might actually begin to respect what America has to offer.

The word is in fact pronouncEd "AXE" not ask...

OJ's kids once asked their father, "Dad, can we go to Chuck E Cheese?" OJ replies, "I don't know. I have to axe your mother"

That probably would have worked better with a Lizzie Borden reference.

Thanks goat you can never have too much diet coke squirt out of your nose...

That probably would have worked better with a Lizzie Borden reference.

Except Liz wasn't black. I had to take literary license with that one

This is what? The 3rd or 4th thread on this crap?
You rtards sure do scare easy.

Easy there, you are offending the liberals here with that kind of talk. This country was finished as a country according to them not all that long ago.

You rtards sure do scare easy.

Then go join the Palin jerk fest, shorty.

All you Piss-Poor "republicans" whining' Broke Dick about a few peanuts is sickening! You Silly Fucks Should Just go Get a Better Job or Open your own business (that is profitable)

Well--the first time the bill was done--it was 1200 pages.

No one read the bill.

Then at 1:30 AM TODAY--they--the Dems --added 300 more pages to the first 1200 pages.

No one read those pages either.

The clerk is putting them together--right now!

It is a 'Manager's Memo'--all of the 300 pages overturn and add or change something in the first 1200 pages.

Again no one has read the bill.

It is a slush fund that will cost trillions over the next 10 years and not do shit with the climate, force jobs overseas and close down businesses here.

The ones saving us from this bullshit will be the blue dog Democrats. The repubs vote no and the Dems vote yes.

If the BDD vote no and there are enough of them this bill fails.

Either that or it stops in the Senate.

Damn we are so screwed.

are so screwed.

Well--Boehner is filibustering the bill and reading teh 300 pages dropped int he hopper at 3 am this morning.

-------------
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) slowed Democrats' attempt to pass a sweeping climate-change legislation Friday evening, reading page-by-page through a 300-page Democratic amendment before allowing a roll call vote.

It was a House version of a Senate filibuster and a way to protest the addition of the 300-page managers' amendment at 3 a.m. Friday.

Republicans say Democrats are ramming their climate-change legislation through the House without enough time for members to read the bill let alone to understand it all in violation of their promises about creating a more transparent legislative process.

"It's the custom of the House to hear the leader's remarks," replied Tauscher, who looking apologetic as Republicans applauded.

"Reclaiming my time," Boehner said, "the gentleman's had his 30 years to put this bill together. And the House is going to spend a whopping five hours debating the most profound piece of legislation to come to this floor in 100 years. And the chairman has the audacity to drop a 300-plus page amendment in the hopper at 3:09 a.m. this morning. And so I would ask my colleagues, don't you think the American people expect us to understand what's in this bill before we vote on it?"

"And so to get to page 34," he continued.

Rep. Geoff Davis, a Republican from Kentucky, said earlier in the day that the cap-and-trade bill represented the "economic colonization of the heartland" by New York and California. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) called the bill a "scam" that would do nothing but satisfy "the twisted desires of radical environmentalists." Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.) called it a "massive transfer of wealth" from the United States to foreign countries.

The Democrats just signed their life sentence. The price of this nonsense will destroy what little is left of our economy.
Since lefties never learn from experience, they will be flushed in three years.

Even Warren Buffet said it was a big mistake.

The Republicans didn't vote for it, so this could make for some very interesting mid term elections.

If Democrats really cared about going after polluters, they would have enacted a direct tax on CO2 emissions, but that would be too obvious to the public and the Democrats knew it.

CAP and TRADE is away to tax the public, but not make it so obvious.

Several Democrats that voted for it said it will probably cost them thier re-election.

If the Republicans can effectively mount a campaign before the mid-term elections about the cost of CAP and TRADE and link it to the Democratic Party, they might be able to make some gains.

No not one dime, fucking liar...

SUCKERS

On the additional 300 pages added to the bill at 3 in the morning--some highlights--

There are 40 pages just on light bulbs.

Retrain Real Estate Appraiser for selling homes with energy efficient--AND the gov't is to pay for the training. pg 50

There is Housing Assistance Counseling. pg 58

Loans to get homes with NO appropiations in the bill. So this has to be added later. pg 160

Green Banking Centers to provide any consumer with any information for any Mortgage loan, equity loan--you name it. pg 165

The gov't will guarantee the mortgages and guarantee the energy efficient improvements. pg 173

Full Faith and Credit of the US --for payments of all loan mortgage guarantee and interest. pg 180

Offset Credits--no idea what this refers to. pg 184

Algae-- yes they talk about algae--pg 190

Renewable Biomass --this is the 3rd definition in the bill and still no idea what it means. pg 189

Carbon Derivative Credits that can be traded with other countries and then there is a Repealing of Derivative Credits--which ones? Don't know. pg 208

Emission Rebates for Indirect Carbon Factors to figure out some bullshit. pg 225

The US will Control the Imports in 10 years with their carbons--will be trade wars over this. pg 226

Use of data every 4 years to keep track of something but not specific in the bill. pg 233

Green House Registry--wtf? pg 234

All countries paid by the US to try and force others to comply--another wtf? pg 236

In 2017 the President submits a report every 2 years. pg 239

Earned Income Credit WITH NO qualifying children. Have to pay more for energy. pg 260

The really drastic part is that when you sell your house--it will be checked over by a RE Appraiser for energy efficient windows, doors, walls, AC, heating. And if it does not pass the test--you the seller have to pay for the repairs or you don't get to sell your house.

Liberty out the window and Tyranny in thru the door.

amen sister

and I just dont see why libs here arent as outraged as we are at this stealing of our freedoms and all.
I guess we underestimated thier hatred of the country and capitalism.

But Afk, I am a Democrat, although not a leftist. I smile that we agree even though it is something that hurts me inside. My party used to represent labor and families when I was a young man. It now represents every kook fringe imaginable and that is why we ofetn lose elections. Gore would have been president if he only won his home state!
If a Democrat like Sam Nunn or even Hubert Humphrey ran today, his own party would renounce him as a right wing radical. It is very sad to me.
