Farrah Fawcett, the blonde-maned actress whose best-selling poster and "Charlie's Angels" stardom made her one of the most famous faces in the world, has died. She was 62. Fawcett had been battling cancer on and off for three years.

A friend had this poster on his front door going out and I must say there was never a time when I didn't take a close look.

Farraaaaaaaaaaaah

Wow...RIP. Poor Ryan.

Wow...RIP. Poor Ryan.

He proposed and she accepted a few days ago, but she didn't make it long enough for them to get married.

"God made man stronger but not necessarily more intelligent. He gave women intuition and femininity. And, used properly, that combination easily jumbles the brain of any man I've ever met."
Farrah Fawcett

RIP

"but she didn't make it long enough for them to get married."

Did they at least get a chance to do a couple rails?

R.I.P.

I had a T-shirt with that poster on it when I was 10. I didn't understand then why I liked it.

Fawcett had incredible endurance to be participating in that TV special recently on her battle with cancer. Who knew the skinny, toothy pin-up model was as tough as a Marine?

Her hair style, along with Dorothy Hamill's, pretty much dominated during the 70s - 80s.

Back then, I thought the hottest girl in the '70s was the hitchhiker the Bad News Bears tried to pick up when they drove a van from California to Houston without parental supervision.

Wonder Woman! I watched that show constantly hoping that just once she would pop out of that top. I still remember every detail of the episode she hung upside down. I don't know the plot, or why she was upside down, but she was. I didn't know of censorship as a kid.

some mortician is going to have a ball tonight!

Farah Fawcett sure fought hard and gave it her all to try and beat this disease. She had to have gone through incredible pain. When are we going to find a cure for cancer -- ever? We can put a man on the moon yet in the last 40 years it's still just chemo and radiation being used as methods for a cure? Medical science can come up with nothing new? Hard to believe.

Rest in peace, Farah Fawcett.

A couple days ago it was Ed McMahon, now Farrah Fawcett, and probably Patrick Swayze will be next.

Farah Fawcett -- age 62, one of the first of the Baby Boomer generation (those born 1946 through 1964)

Wow, too bad she could not have made it until socialized health care. She surely would have survived then.

She was a brave woman and so was Ryan.

I tried watching Swayze's new show on A&E. I saw enough to know it was a great show, but he looked on death's door and I couldn't stand watching the World's Toughest Bouncer looking like that.

Bummer.

I wonder how many moms put "pasties" on her poster...

'Cause that be what you are for even imagining such perversion, let alone posting it here for us to read

" too bad she could not have made it until socialized health care. She surely would have survived then"

No, she would have died. But her family might not have to address $3 million of medical bills with a policy that has a million-dollar lifetime payout.

When she went to UT she lived in Kinsolving dorm.

62? I'll be 60 next b'day!
Better check the bucket list.

She was a brave woman and so was Ryan.

Ryan O'Neil is an asshole and they should name the cancer she died from after him.

Ok. Maybe I misread his devotion at the end. His and her lives really had very little bearing on mine - apart from her poster.

He treated her like shit during much of their relationship. Ask Tatum.

Tatum is great in Rescue Me.

But her family might not have to address $3 million of medical bills with a policy that has a million-dollar lifetime payout.

Well don't worry danny. When they can figure out who will get cancer when we are in the womb, obammy and his clan will make sure that no "problem pregnancies" will occur - thereby nullifying the need for cancer treatments at all. You and HERM can be satisfied then.

In other words, you got nothin'.

Truthhurts comment was disgustingly crude and uncalled for. I wish I would have thought of it first.

too young.

RIP Farrah.

And she was too young to leave.

Forever Young

Thank's for helping so many boys through puberty baby.

RIP

Everyone who dies is either too young or it took too long, no one ever dies on time I've notice.

Elvis did, IMHO.

Keith Richards, too.

Wait...

Elvis went on a few years too long IMHO. Without the jumpsuit and Vegas, there would have been nothing to mock about Elvis, but, as it is, he was only a punchline in my lifetime.

Thanks for the memories, Farrah. I'll never forget you.

Her mother and sister are both dead, but her father is still alive and 91. That poor man, all my sympathies go to him right now.

I met her and Ryan years ago at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on Sunset Strip.

They were very cool. Not pretentious.

But she was teeny. And he was pretty short too.

"Truthhurts comment was disgustingly crude and uncalled for. I wish I would have thought of it first."

wow, Mr. & Mrs. Asshole chime in. Congratualations, you have won the "Incredible Poor Taste" award, a lifetime achievement for you.

her playboy issue was one of two i actually went out and purchased for my husband - his love of women over 40 lent to the decision. we still have it.

rip, farrah.

Who was in the other issue?

I would vote Elle MacPherson...my first Playboy that I didn't steal from dad.

Cindy Crawford wasn't to hard on the eyes....And that Barbie Benton? Hubba. hubba.

The Farrah issue didn't do it for me. I actually thought she was the sexiest thing alive dressed, but to see her naked kind of ruined something for me.

Did Spud own one of those ubiquitous red swimsuit posters and have it up in his room as an adolescent Spud?

Laws yes.

Did all of Spud's early GFs have that "feathered" hairdo?

Indeed.

Was Farrah Fawcett one of the greatest exports Texas ever gave the world short of them mouth watering steaks?

Indubitably.

Was her taste in men from Lee "the Major League Asshole" Majors to "Cryin'" Ryan O'Neill highly suspect?

Without a doubt.

Did her willingness to fight and talk about her cancer elevate her even further in an older Spud's eyes?

Yup.

Will she be missed?

She is already.

RIP Farrah Fawcett.

May a host of Angels sing you to yer final sleep.

Be Well.

/Also agree that Truth's comment above was unwarranted and in very poor taste.

Other than the nips, which were considered racy back then, I never saw the attraction of the Farah poster.

I liked Jaclyn Smith's character better in the original Charlie's Angels.

She had some smoldering womanly sexuality.

Farrah was all pink lemonade and strawberry ice cream.

Silver,
Like Goldie Hawn, it was that smile that melted my heart.

Or put lead in the pencil...

it was that smile that melted my heart.

I can understand that.

By that time in my life, I had already had my Blonde Experience(TM) and had the emotional scars to show for it.

I found out that smart brunettes are easier to live with.

Those in our age group, loved Farrah Fawcett, can't really explain why, maybe because she reminded us of our Youth. For those in the media that today said she was not much of an actress just a pretty face, please get a video of the movie "THE BURNING BED"....It just may change some minds, R.I.P. You represented our Generation well......

...and had the emotional scars to show for it.

You don't know anything about pain until you've had the Redhead Experience.

But I do agree that brunettes seem more down to earth, and I've always liked the smart librarian types with tortoise shell glasses.

Why any of them want to be blonde is beyond me.

Pop singer Michael Jackson has suffered cardiac arrest, CNN affiliate KTLA reports.

"I wonder how many moms put "pasties" on her poster."

Some moms didn't have to, depending on where the poster was bought. There was the original version with the nipples showing through, but there was also an airbrushed version without them.

What I always regretted for Fawcett was that the pinup thing got in the way of her being cast in good roles. She did a few things that I felt showed real potential as an actress, but not many - she just didn't get many offers for really good stuff, it seems.

I do hope we're not going to be subjected to much more of Moby Dick (a.k.a. Ryan O'Neal) blubbering all over his blubbery self over this. That has been the most distasteful part of the whole circus, and considering how tackily most of the media has approached the situation, that's saying something.

Michael Jackson too.. What a day for Oddywood

you all need to get a sense of humor

REPORT: MICHAEL JACKSON DIES

Shit. If he wanted to get out of those concerts in England, all he had to do was not show up!

first farrah, now michael. will the righties stop at nothing to deflect the Sanford story?

May God rest her soul, and may her family find peace.

It amazes me that all the news is about the boy lover.

May God welcome Farrah to his kingdom.

Lord knows the pedophile is in hell right now and rightfully so.

Nice sentiment, Turd.

I suppose you are ok with pedophiles?

This was the only way to Not Show Up I think.

As for poor Farrah - bad timing honey, but you always did have that.
