The Congressional Budget Office did an analysis of what has come to be known as the Waxman-Markey bill. According to the CBO, the climate legislation would cost the average household only $175 a year by 2020.

A closer look at the CBO analysis finds that it contains so many caveats as to render it useless. For starters, the CBO estimate is a one-year snapshot of taxes that will extend to infinity. The CBO's analysis looks solely at the year 2020, before most of the tough restrictions kick in.

It is a tax grab from all taxpayers (not only those making more than $250K). It is payback to the FED and China to finance the TRILLIONS we are in debt for and will still need to borrow under the Annointed One.

MAN-made Global climate change is a farce and fiction, made up by Al Gore and other left wing institions, who would lose federal funding if they didn't march in lock step.

Fo those who propose windpower, put the up in Teddy Kennedy's backyard. Sorry, I forget it would ruin his view. Or how a bout a few hundred off tthe coast of Malibu? It may prevent future rolling blackouts.

If nuclear is so bad, why did our Revered Leader give the OK to Iran? (P.S. France uses it for 60% of it's power.)

The vote is tomorrow--we are all screwed if it passes.

1200 pages and no one has read the bill--AGAIN!

It is a giant slush fund for future years--to redistribute money.

Oh come on! The elected love us and would NEVER steal our wealth.

Cap and Trade will prove to be an unmitigated disaster if it passes.

We are in a recession and our f-ed up leftist gov. officials want to more than double the cost of energy.

God help us all.

cap & trade consequences to small cities like mine - as energy costs skyrocket -

a) citizens will cut surrounding forests and heat with wood

b) our municipal complex will close - mayor will work from home - city council will meet in church basement

c) trim the police dept from 12 to 1 (chief)

d) families will buy more guns

e) schools will downsize - most families will home school

f) food co-ops & we would open hunting to all seasons for food game

g) barter economy

our county & state governments will be forced to drastically re-scale because they simply can't raise the revenue to keep their buildings open

maybe third world life really aint so bad

The libbies are so stupid to be peddling this $175 per household stuff. How many of us really believe that we would change our lifestyles if we had to pay an extra $15 per month? In order for this climate change nonsense to have any real bite whatsoever, they need to make energy usage expensive. REALLY expensive.

And they will. Fine with me though, really. Americans elected Barack Obama, and deserve to suffer the consequences. Ironically, when it comes to this, it'll hit the poor people the hardest. I wonder who most of them voted for?

Are these fucking people nuts? The only way you could fuck up this country quicker is with a Nuclear Bomb.

I for one hope it passes, not out of some desire to see democrats "suffer the consequences," but simply because this is what the majority wants. They should get it. If it works out, great. If it doesn't, it'll get them out of the majority in a hurry, we can start undoing the damage, and we won't have to worry again about such legislation at any time in the foreseeable future.

Here's the problem with your position: the MSM.

Here is what I predict is going to happen:

1. It passes
2. Our energy costs skyrocket as a result
3. A couple of other somewhat-related events occur that partially blur the effects of cap-n-trade
4. The Dems scream about greedy energy execs engaged in price-gouging as a means of responding to public outrage over escalating energy costs
5. Through a combination of tremendous bias, ignorance and stupidity much of the MSM toe the line with the DNC
6. Much of the public ends up misinformed as a result
7. The Dems are not held accountable for the consequences of their legislation

8. Danni, et al, slurp it right up.

=)
