A number of executives of banks that received federal bailout money have continued to use corporate jets for personal use despite controversy over such perks, according to a report Friday.

The Wall Street Journal said flight records show that executives at Regions Financial Corp., Bank of America Corp., Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Inc. had used corporate jets for personal use throughout the financial crisis.

So where is the outrage over this issue?

It was front page news when the automotive executives used private jets.

Do the banks get a pass?

Why?

I think "jet perks" can be shortened to "jerks".

Interesting to see all rightards that were so critical of the auto industry execs flying in private jets all expressing their outrage here too.

"So where is the outrage over this issue?"

I think people are just exasperated in general about things like this. Its frustrating when you think we'd screamed loud enough the last time we heard this story that people would get the point.

Private aircraft save lots of time; Time is money.

The airlines suck anyway. By the time you get through with all the airline bullshit the competition is already there and did the deal.

Do the banks get a pass?

Why?

What an idiot. Never mind the thread up about Goldman Sachs where plenty of righties have spoken up to denounce their bull shit bonuses, and the countless posts from righties in many threads denouncing the bailouts themselves. Yeah, "rightards" are giving the banks a pass. What a fucking idiot.

Ouch. Faux outrage at it's finest LOD.

Apparently the banks do get a pass.

Zat, I don't deny the banks from using private jets for business. You are correct that it is a huge time saver for business.

But this is for personal use, not business use.

I could never understand the *outrage* that was exhibited over the auto execs flying to DC for the bailout meetings. The corporate world is full of private travel, from company cars to corporate owned jets. It is just the way it is for the reasons of security, times savings and privacy.

But as I suspected, they are being given a pass for flying to vacation spots on our tax dollars.

What is even more amazing is the outrage that was leveled over the business use of the auto execs and here nothing about the personal use of the bank execs.

Apparently the banks do get a pass.

A pom-pom waver for banking bailouts, bonuses, and increased power of the Federal Reserve in banking regulations like yourself should know all about giving the banks a pass. I'll defer to your expertise.

some banks hold onto pet jerks!
