Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

America's political scene has changed immensely since the last time a Democratic president tried to reform health care. So has the health care picture: with costs soaring and insurance dwindling, nobody can now say with a straight face that the U.S. health care system is O.K. And if surveys like the New York Times/CBS News poll released last weekend are any indication, voters are ready for major change.

In Poll, Wide Support for Government-Run Health

Americans overwhelmingly support substantial changes to the health care system and are strongly behind one of the most contentious proposals Congress is considering, a government-run insurance plan to compete with private insurers, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

The poll found that most Americans would be willing to pay higher taxes so everyone could have health insurance and that they said the government could do a better job of holding down health-care costs than the private sector.

We need to create a list of the DINOS and help direct millions of Americans to inundate these Democrats who have sold their souls to the insurance and medical industries and make them realize that the campaign will continue until they are out of office if they continue to oppose the government option. I told Sen. Bill Nelson's office I will vote Republican next time, if I have to, rather than support a Democrat that sells out his constituents.

danni,

sen nelson already has you on his list of extreme wacko liberals who will never vote for a republican.

he isn't concerned about your vote.

however, actual moderate democrats who pressure him????????? that's another story.

How committed do you think democrats really are on this issue?

"sen nelson already has you on his list of extreme wacko liberals who will never vote for a republican."

And you are on the list of those who are so careful never to take a stand on anything that you become just a joke. This is a political discussion site, too bad you only live to criticize those who actully have opinions. Sitting on top of that fence all the time must become somewhat uncomfortable.
Be careful to check which way the wind is blowing.

If I had to guess, I'd say that what's really going on is that relatively conservative Democrats still cling to the old dream of becoming kingmakers, of recreating the bipartisan center that used to run America.

Thought that statement deserved a repost.

THe Blue Dogs remember what hap pend to those who supported Bubba and lost their seats for it.

If you could promise them that they would not lose their seats, they would vote for a public option in a minute.

I'm typing like BL2.

This is a political discussion site, too bad you only live to criticize those who actully have opinions.

you are an extreme left wing ideologue wacko.

don't get pissed me because I'm not one.

nice job of whitewashing it Corky.

democrats = wonderful loving public servants who care about the people in this country (except for the nasty part we see they care more about their seats in congress than their constiutents).

but corky knows what's in their hearts though......and they are still better than republicans.

LOL

True.

But then, political analysis based on past history would be foreign to slobbering and pointing fingers.

whatever,

keep justifying it corky. I'm sure it makes you feel better

"don't get pissed me because I'm not one."

I'm not pissed but I just wonder why you even bother. It's like being a baseball player and choosing to always sit on the bench and just criticize the players who actually go out on the field and compete. Sort of pathetic really.

The blue dogs have been targeted by industries effected by health care and given huge amounts of money to oppose it. They are just earning their bribes.

A coupla years ago, home costs were soaring, and the feds decided to do something about it. How did that turn out?

Get government out of health care, and you'll see the costs come down. Get government out of funding college tuitions, and you'll see the same thing there. Still, Obama knows best.
