Ah, the "kindness" of the "libs" is not sustainable. We aspire to a national standard of living we cannot sustain. It just isn't because of "class warfare" or "exploitation" that there are not unlimited resources available for all. When Marx said " To each according to his needs," Marx apparently did not envision that wants are construed as "needs" and are a class that keeps elaborating itself.
Oh. Of the 6.8 million K-12 students in California schools, some one-quarter, that's 25% are not educated using English as Spanish is their native tongue.
Let's see, do the math, 1/4 of 6.8 million is 1.7 million students who are for the most part, illegal aliens. And probably a good number of the other students should be added to this number.
Has anyone else done the math? Removal of these students from the school system would eliminate a substantial portion of the budget shortfall. Add to this the costs of medical care, food stamps, rental subsidies, welfare, and what have you for this group, and you may after the offsets, approximate a balanced budget.
Why not place a special tax on wealthy "sanctuary cities" such as San Francisco, and have them be amerced so to speak so that they pay their fair share for encouraging the presence of illegal immigrants here. Also fine employers of illegal aliens.
Of course, it would be a considerable disruption of markets, rentals, retail sales and the like, that are geared up to serve the illegals, but sooner or later if you folks don't elect to "bite the bullet," the presence of such a large number of consumers in our midst, who do not have the skill sets to earn more, and the subsidization of a permanent welfare class of Americans, will serve to reduce the goods and services available to all.
Or, why not send our transgenerational welfare recipients to Mexico as an exchange and keep enough of their folk to offset the number of our folk "exported." They may develop work habits there since the state will not sustain them.
If the American permanent indigent class is put to work, then all Americans will be better off. They decided that there were jobs they wouldn't do despite their lack of skill sets for other jobs, when the welfare alternative became a viable replacement. Welfare payment, rent subsidy, food stamps, medical care, special entitlements to tutoring, and special scholarships based on criteria other than merit ... Oh well, the piper can't afford it any longer.
