Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

California's historic budget crisis threatens to devastate a public education system that was once considered a national model but now ranks near the bottom in school funding and academic achievement. "California used to lead the nation in education," U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan said. "Honestly, I think California has lost its way, and I think the long-term consequences of that are very troubling."

particularly telling:

"Under the governor's plan, K-12 schools and community colleges would lose $5.3 billion over the coming year - on top of billions of dollars in recent reductions and payment delays.

The state would spend $7,806 per K-12 student in 2009-10, almost 10 percent less than two years ago, according to the Legislative Analyst's Office."

i must admit, before we left californistan ten years ago, they had one of the best homeschool programs we'd ever seen. the school districts were involved and got credit for your teaching your own children as they provided the curriculum.

get back to the basics, cali - cut some of the crap - start with all the homosexual indoctrination b.s. - encourage homeschooling - and make parents responsible for teaching their children to speak english.

...i was under the belief that the lotto system was supposed to benefit the public school system in cali...hmmmmmm...must be all those stipends the teachers receive...

Who would have thought!
Someone call Washington about this!

give it back to mexico.

What they call "cuts" are not actually "cuts" they are simply eliminating the scheduled increases. So its not a cut, its simply no increase in spending.

The CA education system increases DOUBLE the last few years as population and inflation. And then when we turn off the spigot and tell them they are not getting 9 BILLION dollars in additional spending, they call it a cut and lay off teachers.

Yea....Americans are waking up to the most corrupt government program in the USA.

Public Education. They didn't get their 9 BILLION dollar bribe in prop 1B, so now its OUR FAULT.
I love that.

We need to immediately privatize all education and eliminate the GOVERNMENT FROM IT for all time.

Don't you people get it yet? Every single thing you involve the Government and trust them to run is bankrupt, corrupt, inefficient and broken.

Every single thing. There is nothing the GOV does correctly, absolutely nothing.

I can't wait for all these libs that paid 100k+ into social security retire in 10-20 more years only to find out the real truth is the money went directly into the general fund and there is no more money, they spent it on government employee pensions and aircraft carriers to feed out 1,000 bases around the world.

Yeah! Let's privatize that Army, the government doesn't know how to run it correctly.

Could you point out where, in the Constitution, Education is listed as one of the things the federal government is charged with operating?

"Could you point out where, in the Constitution, Education is listed as one of the things the federal government is charged with operating?"

Wouldn't it be great if we had a nation of illiterates who couldn't read the Bill of Rights.

Hey let's import educated people from other countries where they get their educations for free so they can fill all the jobs and leave our kids out in the cold. Or we can just outsource the jobs.
Some statesmen, unlike opportunistic politicians saw education as a national security issue.

If it is so great Danni, then why do we have to hire intelligent people from foriegn lands to do the technical jobs?

Come to think of it, I don't believe the Constitution says anything about the Gubmint issuing licenses to radio and television stations. Also, I don't believe it says diddly about the National Aeronatics and Space Administration.

IT was like that long before the Neocons. It became that way the moment you introduced emotion into a political system based on logic.

yes

here is a way..the dept of education wastes billions and its unconstitutional to begin with,

tear it down and divide the money in thier system and save billions on a program that the constitution CLEARLY says belongs to the states.

It [government] became that way [bankrupt, corrupt, inefficient and broken] the moment you introduced emotion into a political system based on logic.

Am I complimented or insulted? I think I am complimented, but you can never tell around here, so I am just gonna take it as a compliment and say thank you.

"Don't you people get it yet? Every single thing you involve the Government and trust them to run is bankrupt, corrupt, inefficient and broken."

Yep, since we cut taxes on the rich. Before that though it was fine. Before that we had education, jobs, security. Greed trumped patriotism.
REagan administration mantra: "Greed is good."

CDC could be argued is in the Constitution because a sick and dying nation is not going to survive. Police are generally state and local and it was not until the 1930's that the FBI became crime enforcement. There is a theory that all the bank robberies of the 30's were actually orchestrated by the FBI in order to create the need for a Federal Police force. Not sure if I buy it, but it would make for one hell of a great movie.

Ah, the "kindness" of the "libs" is not sustainable. We aspire to a national standard of living we cannot sustain. It just isn't because of "class warfare" or "exploitation" that there are not unlimited resources available for all. When Marx said " To each according to his needs," Marx apparently did not envision that wants are construed as "needs" and are a class that keeps elaborating itself.

Oh. Of the 6.8 million K-12 students in California schools, some one-quarter, that's 25% are not educated using English as Spanish is their native tongue.

Let's see, do the math, 1/4 of 6.8 million is 1.7 million students who are for the most part, illegal aliens. And probably a good number of the other students should be added to this number.

Has anyone else done the math? Removal of these students from the school system would eliminate a substantial portion of the budget shortfall. Add to this the costs of medical care, food stamps, rental subsidies, welfare, and what have you for this group, and you may after the offsets, approximate a balanced budget.

Why not place a special tax on wealthy "sanctuary cities" such as San Francisco, and have them be amerced so to speak so that they pay their fair share for encouraging the presence of illegal immigrants here. Also fine employers of illegal aliens.

Of course, it would be a considerable disruption of markets, rentals, retail sales and the like, that are geared up to serve the illegals, but sooner or later if you folks don't elect to "bite the bullet," the presence of such a large number of consumers in our midst, who do not have the skill sets to earn more, and the subsidization of a permanent welfare class of Americans, will serve to reduce the goods and services available to all.

Or, why not send our transgenerational welfare recipients to Mexico as an exchange and keep enough of their folk to offset the number of our folk "exported." They may develop work habits there since the state will not sustain them.

If the American permanent indigent class is put to work, then all Americans will be better off. They decided that there were jobs they wouldn't do despite their lack of skill sets for other jobs, when the welfare alternative became a viable replacement. Welfare payment, rent subsidy, food stamps, medical care, special entitlements to tutoring, and special scholarships based on criteria other than merit ... Oh well, the piper can't afford it any longer.

I don't seem to recall police officers, fire departments, national highway system, air traffic controllers or the food and drug administration in the constituion either.

I thought he was just arguing the FEDERAL government.

We are fast becoming a people of quasimodos. Training, borderline, education, borderline, expertise, borderline, skill, borderline, this is the nail that will condemn the US populace to this status. I say quasimodo, meaning quasi-educated etc. As long as we accept this status it will continue to eat away at our society until we outsource everything because we cannot do anything.

REagan administration mantra: "Greed is good."

And along came danni, slow-talking danni, slow-walking danni, post hoc ergo propter hoc danni, oblivious to any other factors with her one-note song.

danni has suddenly rejected secularism and believes in the miracle of the loaves and fishes. danni postulates that there is unlimited providence, and the only reason everyone is not driving a Rolls-Royce, and living in a 30,000 square foot mansion is that some "bad and greedy guys" are hoarding provender someplace. Where danni does not know, but in her heart she knows it's true.

How would "taxes" create these goods and services, danni? You're just in a time warp, danni. You should have lived when the Townsend Plan was considered a good idea. And when the idea circulated by Coue was that every day in every way you were getting better and better, a mantra believers chanted until the day they died. Of course, in the hereafter, it must really have gotten good, but no one has reported back.

Wow.....a dumbed down nation.

This is the Republicanistas wet dream....everyone else ending up just like them.

So let me get this straight: you're burdening future generations with an insurmountable debt and making sure they have no possible means to make decent amounts of money by knee-capping education? Your nation is lining itself up to be the poster child for the darwin awards.

Ya, because there are soooo many neocons in the California legislature. Those fuckers really messed things up.

yeah I didnt know california was a right wing state until they got into this trouble..but THATS what I have read here from more than one of these socalled SMARTER Than us sunsbitches....

The unions in cahoots with the cowardly and corrupt politicians have contrived to destroy California. The average state employee makes some $60,000 per year compared to an average of $30,000 in the private sector. As with GM, the system cannot sustain such a burden, so collapse is imminent.

Add this to the illegal immigrant burden on the schools, the health services system, and what have you, and the distribution of funds is not sustainable.

I suspect that there4 is out-migration not in-migration to California. The song should be "California here I go" rather than California here I come." www.sheetmusicplus.com

"If you knew more about Victor Hugo's characterization of Quasimodo"

Of course his character had a heart of gold. I was referring to the fact that what was once a given. True dedication to one's profession and professionalism itself has given way to the mentality of "come on friday" and the party of the weekend. I have worked with too many people, and have seen their motivation, to where when your under the surgeon's hand, or your mouth is wide open and someone is in there you glance at the degree on the wall, and say "oh snap", is that an online university, just as the anesthesia begins to take effect.

Good point.

That's a shame

Agree. It's a shame. It's a shame that not only is mediocrity accepted, but promoted.

"If you seized the assets, and taxes the rich 100% it would not even run the mother fucking GOV for 1 year."

The amount of stupidity in that statement is nearly infinite.

Agree. It's a shame. It's a shame that not only is mediocrity accepted, but promoted.

Yet when something is in place to improve on mediocrity, it is challenged. Such as a simple eigth grade level test required to get a diploma. Which can be taken for three years until passed.

That is a classic line about California losing its ways. Seeing as they are the highest paid teachers in the nation. Didn't see anything about the 70% drop out rate either.

You, Danni, and all these other liberal dumbfucks, are just ignorant to the core.

Obviously went to a public schools in California.

"Ah, the "kindness" of the "libs" is not sustainable."

A rant about libs and illegal immigrants. Never mind that REagan did the first amnesty, the US Chamber of Commerce and the other Republicans opened the borders so that illegals could come do "the jobs Americans won't do." Now, because us libs won't throw them in cattle cars and deport them en masse it's all our fault.
Hog wash.
The Republicans created the HUGE problem of illegal immigration specifically to cut wages and they succeeded but don't go blaming us libs for not wanting to treat them inhumanely once they were here.
Let's start throwing some employers in jail and watch how fast we don't have the problem. GEt rid of NAFTA that allows US factory farms to obliterate family farms in Mexico and destroyed the economy there, then we followed with US manufacturing to replace farming and closed then closed the factories for still cheaper labor in China.
No, the corporatists in America created these problems for their own profit and what happened to the people involved was just collateral damage.

Kuma need visit to dumptown.

Funny when danni is called out the classic Reagan and repubs always find a way into the thread. Reagan was Governor of California how many decades ago? Oh wait you mean Calis problems are from his Presidental stint 2 years ago. Almost as stupid as blaming the republican minority in Sacramento.

Oh wait you mean Calis problems are from his Presidental stint 2 years ago

"If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands; they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provision of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, every thing, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress.... Were the power of Congress to be established in the latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America."

James Madison - Nostradamus of the USA

You could do all that or you could just pass laws that prevent elected officials from taking bribes, I mean, 'campaign contributions' from UNIONS. And you can pass laws that prevent public schools from hiring UNION teachers. You could pass laws that require school principals to determine who the good and bad teachers are. You could do all these things (plus much more that I don't have time to list here) and the deficits and other issues will go bye-bye in 10 years, but we don't have that kind of time for rational solutions.

So the lying foreign-born-asshole-lousy-
actor and his gang of 29 faggoty republican turncoats, have colluded to TAX THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF US here in the golden state. Largest ever tax hike in US history -- $50B!! They all ran on anti-tax platforms, vowed in writing they wouldn't raise taxes, and then proceeded to draft budgets based almost entirely on ever-increasing revenues from ever-increasing property values. Well now that the housing bubble is burst, there's no money to cover said increases, BUT THEY'RE CALLING THEM CUTS!!! All this while there are hundreds of thousands of state cubicle workers whom they can't fire or reduce benefits (which is commensurate with the private sector) because the UNIONS out-witted the state at every turn during negotiations. State legislators get free cars, free car insurance, free gasoline, free health care, 90% pay for life and the list goes on and one. All this and they threatened to turn 40,000 prisoners loose. They threatened to fire cops and firemen. People are fleeing this state in droves, including the illegals.

The only solution is honest-to-goodness bankruptcy. It's the only way the state can renegotiate the ridiculous deals with UNIONS.

Petrous... Great post. Imagine how Madison would feel today, knowing the Government regulates everything from screws to toilet seats. Talk about taking the general welfare to a different level.

#25 Danni> Yep, since we cut taxes on the rich. Before that though it was fine.

You are forgetting that the federal income tax receipts (ie money raised from income taxes) actually went UP a significant amount under Reagan's two terms. I know I've reminded you of this very fact numerous times, yet somehow you keep forgetting it. Do I need to buy a rubber stamp to save time telling you this in the future??

wtf does federal taxation have to do with California school cuts? it's a California issue. Cali has been dominated for years by Dems. they, hand in hand with CTA and the ed code, have screwed this up.

Dems have been in power in CA for over 30 years.

The unions pay for their advertisements to pay every proposition, they pay for their campaign to get re-elected, they pay for everything.

The power in CA is the Unions 100%, and the Democrats are 100% beholden to them.

Don't you democrats marvel at the destruction of CA by Democrats?

CA largest economy, largest tax base, yet POOREST STATE BY FAR with largest deficit?

You don't see a fucking problem? its called GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG AND OUT OF CONTROL.

Socialism doesn't work. What fucking year will democrats learn this.

Kuma

Well, look at the California demographics, and ouila. They are trying to teach the unteachable proceeding on the false premise that every demographic has the same ability to understand and process information, and then utilize it for the common benefit.

The changing demographic in California has resulted in the current disaster. And the politicians are adept at buying votes with Other Peoples Money. Except as Henry VIII was cautioned, "Sire, there comes a time in every man's life when the well runs dry."

But everyone has learned, "I gots my rights," included being "the right" to enjoy a certain standard of living. danni is going to instruct us on how to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Thanbkfully, California is a leftist political paradise, so it must be the right wing media distorting the situation there, so as to make it appear that leftist policies don't work. Well, leftists believe. You can't let those corrupt accountants misrepresent reality for you. Believe on liberal dogma.

There they go again, trying to pour water out of an empty container. And they could if those obstructionist right wingers in the California legislature weren't standing in the way.

Will California issue specie? Will it be a good investment?

The California dreaming. There is enough wherewithal to support the standard of living to which we aspire. And we're going to prove it by taking money from those who have "too much" and transferring it to those who have "too little."

Oops. The total held by those who have too much and those who have too little is not sufficient after equalization to maintain the standard of living that we want.

Are the rich California lefties changing their domiciles for tax purposes and leaving the proles, who have less economic and social mobility to suffer.

Whatever happened to slogans like "Down with the (class) traitor and up with the (red) star?" When the class wars heat up, when push comes to shove, the vocal lefties don't have the courage of their convictions. Give us a list of class traitors who have abandoned the sinking ship that is California. If Arnold had any sense, he'd join them. He'd resign the Governorship, relinquish
California residence, and move to Idaho or Montana, or some congenial place, and enjoy a life of luxury.

kuma - you're beginning to sound like a mirror image of rnv and manypaths.

The cuts will be made in the following areas.

"The cuts are expected to lead to sharp reductions or complete elimination of after-school programs, summer school, adult education, guidance counselors, and electives such as art and music."

BO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..

That will realy affect the quality of education!!!SHIT!!!

NANC, so where am I wrong, exactly. Exactly. Specifically.

Like socialism can't work, thus CA can't succeed? Care you argue that?

Care to argue which GOV controlled anything is greatly efficient and profitable?

Care to argue why CA is such an UTTER failure besides the obvious fact of welfare/social programs and the size of GOV?

Doesn't it suck that I am right, and you can't do shit about it except place me in categories?

Are you pissed off that the ONLY states in this country doing well happen to be conservative controlled? Texas, Wyoming, Montana, etc?

Lets see..Democrat states on verge of bankruptcy, poorest states, and Right wing states have the best economies?

You care to argue I am wrong? You want to make a case CA gov is more effective than Texas?

Or do you want to just place me in a box, and name call me into the dust with worthless rhetoric, like you lefties always do.

Let me start the name calling. You worthless lefty piece of shit, you are a few steps better than Hitler.

Your version of a Government is basically maximum tyranny through taxation and make us all poor so we are all equal, just like your BOSS and braintrust Karl Marx laid out for you.

Kuma

These liberals are so great. They all need the nobel fucking prize.

Educating, caring for and giving jobs to illegal aliens is higher on their list than educating our children.

What a shocker.

Cali's socialist policies are a perfect microchosm of the unsustainability of socialism - it crowds out the private sector (which is crucial for its revenue) and grows the public sector to a point of implosion.

get back to the basics, cali - cut some of the crap - start with all the homosexual indoctrination b.s. - encourage homeschooling

got any math on what cost savings your "cut" and "encouraging homeschooling" would add up to?

Looks like it's everyone's problem. Pandering to the 20 million illegals here in the US is breaking many budgets. Schools, hospitals, police, the list goes on.

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I also have included the URL's for verification of all the following acts.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Verify at:

2. $2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. Verify at: www.cis.org

3. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens. Verify at: www.cis.org

4. $12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English! Verify at: transcripts.cnn.com

5. $17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies. Verify at transcripts.cnn.com

6. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. Verify at: transcripts.cnn.com

7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens. Verify at: transcripts.cnn.com

8. $90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers. Verify at: premium.cnn.com

9. $200 Billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens. Verify at: transcripts.cnn.com

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US ... Verify at: transcripts.cnn.com

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border. Verify at: Homeland Security Report: tinyurl.com

It matters not that there are now Sanctuary Cities. It would cost more to arrest, incarcerate and deport these same families. Since the Federal government pushed the issue off to the states, the state cannot be faulted for how they address the issue.

Immigration is a federal issue the last administration pushed it off to the current administration leaving the state to pay for federal services.

Go scream at the republicans and corporations for letting this issue get out of hand...

Funny when danni is called out the classic Reagan and repubs always find a way into the thread. Reagan was Governor of California how many decades ago? Oh wait you mean Calis problems are from his Presidental stint 2 years ago. Almost as stupid as blaming the republican minority in Sacramento.

that's what we have idiots like you for

It seems the least the feds could do is float some loan guarantees to California to help address this issue since we are pay for a federal program at the state level.

One thing I do see you left out of your list is the taxes immigrants pay into the system. I bet you could find a link for that also...

Even if some do pay taxes, it wouldn't even cover the cost to process and house the illegal incarcerated inmates a year.

"Even if some do pay taxes, it wouldn't even cover the cost to process and house the illegal incarcerated inmates a year."

On what numbers are you basing that conclusion?

Go back and look at post #81.( Which you have yet to spin or rebutt) Numbers 6 and 7 seem compelling. Add in the cost to arrest and charge. Convicted or not it is costly.

"Numbers 6 and 7 seem compelling."

$3 million a day? You don't think 12 million illegals average two bits a day in federal taxes?

(Even if some do pay taxes...)

I guess you missed "even if some do pay." My fault.

dan

they are breaking the law,,,its as simple as that and I hardly think that paying what little sales taxes and all they might do is equal to the money spent on thier emergency room care and EDUCATION

because I am pretty sure they are able to send thier kids to school and pay NO SCHOOL TAX...

"dan they are breaking the law"

Hey, I'm still wondering why the hell we have illegals in our prison system anyway, and don't just deport them to the jails of their home countries.

let mexico have cal. its noting but a dungheap of liberal wasteism anyway.

We bought California from Mexico. The only state they have any real claims to is Texas which we stole and would gladly return.

So you think it is alright for the federal government to push their responsibility onto the states?

Do you also feel it is right for corporations to have more representation than real live people?

I thought you were a conservative?

What about State rights?

What about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?

Even if some do pay taxes, it wouldn't even cover the cost to process and house the illegal incarcerated inmates a year.

Almost all do, and they do not get refunds. Let's think this out.

In California some cities have sales taxes reaching 10%.

There is also the issue of fraudulent SSI's. Every one needs a number to work. All that money is going into state accounts and no refund claims are being made against those taxes. The State keeps it.

Others receive EIN (Employee Identification Numbers) in lieu of SSI numbers.

So I would argue that a majority of immigrants DO pay taxes.

immigrants do pay taxes, illegals do not. there is a big difference

Wouldn't it be great if we had a nation of illiterates who couldn't read the Bill of Rights.

So, you're saying that the states are too inept to run their own education? Surely they could do no worse than the govt. But, since Carter started it and not Reagan you're all for it. No one, and I mean no one, at this site walks the party line the way you do, Danni.

Every single thing you involve the Government and trust them to run is bankrupt, corrupt, inefficient and broken.

Thanks to Neocons.

That would almost be relevant except for the fact that neocon is a word that was just created within the last decade. Surely they haven't been there long enough to screw everything up for everyone else. And most certainly the dems have absolutely nothing to do with government programs that are fucked up. Damn you're a moron whoever you are.

According to how Wiki defines "Neocon," they have been in office for a very long time and are members of both parties.

Wiki defines it as "a political philosophy that emerged in the United States of America, and which supports using American economic and military power to bring liberalism, democracy, and human rights to other countries.[1][2][3] Unlike traditional conservatives, neoconservatives are generally comfortable with a minimally-bureaucratic welfare state; and, while generally supportive of free markets, they are willing to interfere for overriding social purposes.[4]"

Bush was one and Obama is one at least according to this definition.

Hey, I'm still wondering why the hell we have illegals in our prison system anyway, and don't just deport them to the jails of their home countries.

Because the California liberals bend over backwards to protect illegal aliens our police are not even allowed to ASK someone if they are in the country legally -- even when they are being arrested for the commission of a crime. Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many other cities in CA are "sanctuary cities" meaning no one can even ask anyone about their citizenship status and whether or not they are in our country legally.

Then, since our prisons are overfilled (with 1/3rd of the prisoners being illegal aliens who committed other crimes AFTER they got to California) due to overcrowding we release them back into the streets early when they should have just been deported back to wherever they came from but we can't because the libs and pro-open borders group, and pro-illegal alien suckup groups like La Raza scream and yell if we DARE ask someone to prove they are in this country legally.

They then get out of jail and commit more crimes. Like the illegal alien last year who was released early, got a gun and the very next day went and shot some 18 year old Black kid in the head and killed him only a couple blocks from his home. The Black kid was the wrong color so he died. That illegal alien should have been deported back to Mexico -- not released back into our streets. But SANCTUARY CITIES can't ask these prisoners if they are here legally or not. Now that 18 year old Black kid -- a US citizen with his whole life ahead of him -- is dead. His Mom was serving in Iraq, the Black kid was not in gangs and was up for a football scholarship.

kumbaya to the open border crowd and libs.

That murder is on their hands.

Miami is even worse. The Federal Government turned it into a game with the Cubans by basically telling them "if you make it to dry land, you get to stay."

We (Miami) cannot kick them out because the Feds are in control of immigration, but we suffer just the same because we get no funds to subsidize the massive shadow population that uses the schools and roads, but doesn't pay to support them.

"If you seized the assets, and taxes the rich 100% it would not even run the mother fucking GOV for 1 year."
The amount of stupidity in that statement is nearly infinite.

You are right Danni. It wouldn't run the mother fucking GOV for more that 6 months

there are millions in unclaimed taxes paid by illegals every year - especially when they're using fake ssn's. the numbers could actually be in the billions - that coupled with social security paid in and matched by employers, you'd think someone could dig ALL of u.s. out of this mess.

So I would argue that a majority of immigrants DO pay taxes.

#100 | Posted by Prolix247

I'll bet they get back more than they pay in. I'm talking about the income tax to the feds and state. How much income tax does a person working for $10 per hour pay? Lets see, that would be $20k per year, check your tax tables to see what a family of 6 would pay on that.

1. You never see an illegal with a "work for food" sign, because somewhere, they are working.
2. Yes they absorb billions in welfare and social support services.
3. Billions in taxes are never claimed b/c they have fake SS#'s.
4. It may never end, because the 800lb gorilla in the room is this: Pharoah likes his pyramids built cheap. Keeps his boat afloat on the Nile in style.
5. It will take more than just vitriol, and perchance righteous vitriol at that, to remedy the illegal immigration problem, someone needs to have the intestinal fortitude to visit Pharaoh and tell him the party is over.
I don't see no Moses's on the horizon. Pass the taco.

round em up move em out or shoot them

Just deny them access to health care and schools, and they will leave on their own. No need to round them up and deport them.

Sorry fuckwit, we kicked their sorry asses fair and square. The only mistake we made was joining the fucking union.

thats been the real answer all along and it starts with dems not giving in to them because of the votes they represent and the dem rich and/or republican businesses hiring them
you take away the incentives and they "WILL (NOT) COME"

PROOF OF that has been the recession hasnt it where there are fewer jobs and thus less money being siphoned back to mexico

Excellent point.

Take away the money and the benefits, and you see the results.
