Murphums, pretty much all of the internets has been "officially" shut down in Iran for some time now. If I'm not mistaken, the only way Iranians are getting their tweets and other uploads through is by using their cellphones and proxies.
Anonymous Iran - News & Current Events would've been positively burning up if this last pipeline for information had been shut down for good; thankfully, it hasn't.
This link is, btw, probably the best source of information from the man-on-the-street's perspective. Take that for what you will - there are going to be unconfirmed reports, but they're also going to be a lot faster in breaking news and images you won't see elsewhere.
From live from the protests - 6/20 - part 2
Police and militia forces turned out in force early this morning to prevent crowds from gathering and marching as previously planned and announced. This led to small clashes throughout Tehran as small groups of protesters attempted to gather.
Iranian State TV reported a suicide bomber attacked the tomb of Khomenei, and has since reported that arrested demonstrators are confessing to having been trained in the U.S. There has been no definitive proof of an attack on the tomb.
Momentum grew throughout the day and the crowds began to collect in places not as heavily guarded by the police/militia, and began to turn the security forces back.
As of now, demonstrations are widespread in Tehran and in other cities around the country.
Mousavi called for a general strike if he is arrested.
UNCONFIRMED REPORTS are that Khamenei has been relocated to a military base for protection
There are unconfirmed reports of a military tank in Azadi Square (again from the thread I just posted...there are 30+ pages on that thread with replies coming in fast but it's being discussed in the last few pages of that thread (as of 10.00pm central time).
The government is also spraying capsacian on protestors from helicopters. This report is being verified by numerous sources...BBC and FNN, and probably more.
Finally, there are (unconfirmed) reports coming in that protestors are being arrested by thugs when they go to hospitals and/or foreign embassies.
IMHO the situation is looking to explode. I hope I'm wrong. "Supreme Leader" Khameni made an hour and a half long speech the other day basically saying that the students and other protesters need to accept the results, and MOAR gawd and backwards antiquated tradition.
I, for one, will not be surprised if Mousavi meets with an unfortunate "accident" if protests aren't otherwise quelled soon.
