plane with dead pilot lands safely:

news.yahoo.com

Yesterday I risked my aging butt again at The Front, the clinic where for a decade People For Choice escorted women past nine-foot doctored bloody fetus photos and bodily harassment at the door. It was a more or less silent vigil for Dr. Tiller while loonies chanted their fruit-of-thy-wombs ...

It's reasonable to deem this a heroic deed. Any of 'em might have been armed.

More than the murder of a humanitarian physician screams for connecting the dots. Our real terror is not from Islam, but from the evangelochristian right, fundamentalists who'd impose a Sharia of their own.

It's a vicious cycle. The uglier they get in their desperate bids to be noticed, the lower they fall in public esteem. And then even worse become their crimes.

It's about power and the paranoia that results when ya ain't got the power.

Middle aged "pro-life" white males push fetal rights and murder physicians as they feel diminished power over women.

Those violently (yes!) opposed to any levelling of the economic playing field as "socialism" fear loss of power over the less fortunate.

Those screaming about people speaking a strange language swimming a river fear not controlling folks who clean their toilets and mow their lawns.

Those achieving new lows in bad-mouthing their president fear steady erosion of white power as a semi-black leader runs the country.

Those opposing health care for all - "not on my dollar!"- would reassert control by deciding who gets medical attention and who doesn't.

Those who invent deities and call their creations "Jehovah" or "Allah" kill each other over that. Corporations use that conflict for profit...

Backers of police state surveillance, brutality and torture to "show who's in control around here."

Those in denial who deem global climate change a ruse so "they" can take my SUV, just as limits on firearms are "they" trying to take my gun. herm

why don't you just stay in? all that excitement is going to kill you. nevermind.

I'm sure there have been many, you short sighted goon.

You can't get blood from a stone but you can get stoned with Keith Richard's blood.

all that excitement is going to kill you.

No one here gets out alive.

The "excitement" keeps me alive. That which doesn't kill you gets you off. herm

If he can handle a sponge bath from Nurse Ratchett, he can handle anything.

"we know why dems are in a rush to get this woman on the court"

Yeah, "such a rush", the process is moving along at virtually the average amount of time for most SC nominees. No hurry here, but the Dems don't want to let the Rethugs just drag it out for months either.

Up or down vote!
Up or down vote!
Up or down vote!

After months of silence, former president George W. Bush launched a broad-scale critique of President Obama's approach to economic policy, national security and health care during a speech in Pennsylvania.

I'm expecting all the righties who wet themselves when Carter criticized a sitting president to open fire on Dubya in about 30 seconds.
Otherwise, they'd just be loyal republican party hacks and hypocrites instead of "free thinking conservatives"...

That was a rotten thing for W to do. We should immediately build a cross and forge some nails.

Night of the Living Neocons

The shameless fools whose Iraq folly empowered Iran's hard-liners are back, smearing Obama as an appeaser

Like Rasputin, the unhinged "Mad Monk" whom they sometimes seem to have adopted as an intellectual role model, the neoconservatives who brought us the Iraq war refuse to die. Although they have been figuratively stabbed, poisoned, shot, garroted and drowned, they somehow keep standing, still insisting that history will vindicate George W. Bush's glorious crusade. In a world governed by the Victorian moral code conservatives claim to uphold, they would be shunned, shamed and forbidden to appear on television or write Op-Ed columns. But because Beltway decorum apparently requires that disgraced pundits be given a permanent platform to bray their discredited theories, the rest of us are condemned to listen to their ravings.

What caused the neocons and their fellow travelers on the right to sit up in their coffins this time is the almost certainly rigged Iran election and the massive unrest that has roiled the country in its aftermath. Outraged that Obama has not behaved like their hero Bush and begun loudly rattling his saber, the neocons have denounced him as -- you guessed it -- an appeaser

Compared to the sitting President? Did you see his latest miracle involving a fly? And I heard he's going to lay his hands on Hillary's boo boo later today and heal it.

Perhaps Bill Clinton should talk about how thoroughly the incoming Bush administration was briefed about Al Quaeda and terrorism....so that the "no one could ever have imagined" defense would be seen by the American people to be the lie that it is.

and by the way

I wish he had not said anything but it was in an answer to a question and I am CERTAIN that if he had declined to answer the question you would have made up something to attack him on that....
its an old story that we heard for 8 years.

FAUX News claims that 'American journalism is dead' (as if they ever did any) because the White House is getting an hour of TV time........all while conveniently ignoring that fact that the last WH used to pay for fake news stories to be aired.

here is a link to his comments and as anyone who isnt blinded by partisan hatred for the man can read that he was stating his policies and why which happen to be in contradiction to obama policies which are bankrupting us day by day..

Herm doesn't really care about a woman's right to a dead baby. He just does it because it's as close as he'll ever get to having sex -- even with ugly, fat, pregnant white women with McDonald's on their breath.

The 'excitement' keeps his ancient heart beating. Kinda like killing a baby every day gives this zombie an extra day of oxygen.

"Hey, sweetheart! I know you're out of commission for a few days after your 'session' with Dr. Hoover. But what are you doing next Tuesday? I only need four minutes!"

yeah and I thought the people there were going to kiss his ass right on the air instead of waiting until later.

of course you know...it is PRETTY HARD to hit a fly...

and check out the peta thread..they are pissed. I can see them sitting around with thier LEATHER belts and thier LEATHER SHOES talking about where they will go to get a BURGER or some HAM for lunch while they attacked him for killing a fly...

oh shit..THATS good..should put that on that thread.

"FAUX News claims that 'American journalism is dead'"

They should know, they are the assasin.

"that didnt work before and still doesnt when you only give half of the story"

The other half is called a conspiracy theory.

OK, Cork, what major Bush policy has your Dear Leader reversed?

Just one?

Anything?

Seems like Obama has behaved EXACTLY THE SAME as Bush on foreign policy.

Oh, oh, a couple of Japanese fellows were apprehended by the Italians crossing into from Italy into Switzerland with $134 billion in undeclared U.S. bonds. Were the bonds real? Who were the owners?

Well, if they are real, it's a bonanza for the Italian economy, since the government gets some 40% of the seizure. The border guard should receive a performance bonus, or early retirement at an high pension rate.

The Japanese stash of our debt is some $686 billion. The Japanese had openly declared their belief in the strength of the U.S. economy, and support for the U.S. dollar. Oh, oh. If they are trying to covertly divest themselves of dollar holdings, it indicates that we are on the brink of the precipice.

Other signs of cracks in the power of the U.S. dollar is the UK banks divesting themselves of U.S. depositors rather than complying with U.S. regulations that would require them to act as an informer and tax collector for the IRS.

It augurs ill.

Maybe its time to buy foreign currencies. But which ones? Ask Soros a seasoned currency trader and speculator. He also reputedly has some clout with the Obama administration, so policies might just facilitate the profitability of his investments. After all, GE's ABC is a propaganda organ for the Obama administration now in return for what may be trillions in contracts for GE.

Anyway, a link. www.bloomberg.com

Seems like Obama has behaved EXACTLY THE SAME as Bush on foreign policy.

The only thing B.O. has one upped W on was his personal letter to Ahmanutjob.

his critique was anything but how you want us to describe it...it was filled with truth and laced with integrity....

Truth and integrity from George W Bush? Get real. He couldn't muster either in 8 years in the WH. Even had to lie about that pretzel attack...

Tiller is gone. Dawkins has mellowed. PETA cares for the rights of flies and roaches (never mind babies in the womb). Obama got lucky with a fly. And the world chuckles a bit.

But swatting a fly does not a messiah make.

Try reading the article, Grasshopper. If your reading comprehension has improved, you will find the answers on the second page there.

"After all, GE's ABC is a propaganda organ"

Last time I checked GE owned NBC not ABC.

north

as you can see in my media watch, I posted the carter story already...in 1986 he was interviewed by mike wallace on 60 mins and he was talking shit about reagan then...all he has is talking down other people which is a sure sign he has to do that to try and make him look less pathetic than he was...

and clinton...well shit son....dont even have to open that shit about his lack of integrity...there are woman all over the world who will tell you otherwise as well as plenty of arkansas state troopers and national officers...

and besides...do we REALLY want to revisit all that..

I think not

Well, you're no longer an unsung hero, herm. You've sung your own paean of praise.
More than the murder of a humanitarian physician screams for connecting the dots.

Redefining "humanitarian" herm to include butchers of human babies?
Our real terror is not from Islam, but from the evangelochristian right, fundamentalists who'd impose a Sharia of their own.

You may love the Islamics i Algeria then, herm, they perform abortions without anesthetics, disembowling the women. Unfortunately, the "operation" is a success but "the patients," the murdered baby and the mother both perish.
Middle aged "pro-life" white males push fetal rights and murder physicians as they feel diminished power over women.

This baseless conclusion has become like a chant, a mantra for those supporting the butchery of babies.
Those violently (yes!) opposed to any levelling of the economic playing field as "socialism" fear loss of power over the less fortunate.

Ah now herm wants "levelling," which when introduced into the economic system results in reduced productivity and a lower standard of living. Sounds as if this is "a value" only from an ingrates perspective, a fellow interested in reducing others to his level.

Those screaming about people speaking a strange language swimming a river fear not controlling folks who clean their toilets and mow their lawns.

Are you on the dole yourself, herm, so that there is no cost to you in supporting this influx of folks? Regardless, it does affect your standard of living. Examine the situation in California. Why not just move a few derelicts from skid row into your hovel to provide them with humanitarian shelter, herm? Integrate your actions with your thoughts.
Those achieving new lows in bad-mouthing their president fear steady erosion of white power as a semi-black leader runs the country.

Oh? President mememe is certainly doing a bad job, but since he's a mulatto he is above criticism for his misbegotten programs. Sounds as if you are dedicated racist for whom race is the trump card negating all other considerations.
Those opposing health care for all - "not on my dollar!"- would reassert control by deciding who gets medical attention and who doesn't.

Gosh herm, hate your parents, or yourself if you're an old guy. There would be no increase in health care resources, only reallocation of those resources, and as the programs work, the elderly, the disabled, and those with orphan diseases would be consigned to hospice care and euthanasia as procedures that would extend their lives would no longer be authorized.
Backers of police state surveillance, brutality and torture to "show who's in control around here."

Right, and under the corrupt mememe administration, supporters of the party in power are not punished for criminal behavior, and are provided additional government funds to use without oversight as in Sacramento, and the black thugs who intimidated voters are exempted from prosecution by intervention of the attorney-general. Ho hum.

Herm what a seething brew of emotions you are, and how disdainful and hateful you are towards others as you unashamedly support wanton destruction of human life, criminal behavior and corruption in government, and declare that you are an outright racist. Does the malignity of your being appear in your looks, or do you have something akin to the "Picture of Dorian Gray" to prevent your mien from reflecting your nature?

Right you are danni. Same story. Substitute the correct network.

I'm glad that you're so alert. Possibly you could provide additional information to elaborate the story of the unparalleled magnitude of the corruption of the mememe administration that is destroying the fabric of our country.

"and clinton...well shit son...."

Pathetic, you pretend his womanizing somehow diminished the importance of the terrorism warnings. You are a sick puppy, too much kool aide. YOu don't even care about the truth, just partisanship 24/7.

JOHNSON

you posted your usual RIGHT ON and correct though long information and I included my newsletter from cornyn with MORE facts to know how the dems are going to use our health care as perhaps THE largerst portion of thier "STRANGLEHOLD" of the necks of the american taxpayer

BUT do you REALLY think that libs here are going to bother to read what we posted in the hopes that they would become more informed on the subject rather than just post what olberman or cnn said about it

NOT likely
but keep up the good work anyway...

BECAUSE IF IT COMES down the way they want it too

SOMETIME soon...or maybe later even

you and I will join forces again and give them the LARGEST "I TOLD YOU SO" in the history of "I told you so's"

"Possibly you could provide additional information to elaborate the story of the unparalleled magnitude of the corruption of the mememe administration that is destroying the fabric of our country."

I don't think you are really as crazy as you pretend. Just an attention seeker. Use big words and impress the blow up dolls.

BA DUMP DUMP

#30 | Posted by vernon

here, I'll help you

"His approach has already borne fruit. The success of the March 14 Alliance in Lebanon, a major victory for the U.S., is widely attributed to the "Obama effect." Just one month of U.S. pressure induced Israel's far-right Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to utter the magic words "Palestinian state." And most critically, as David Ignatius noted in an important column in Tuesday's Washington Post, Obama's openness to the Muslim world and more sophisticated presentation of America has empowered the reformers in Iran and throughout the Arab/Muslim world, and diminished the appeal of militant jihadism.

The neocons are demanding righteous outrage, and claiming that Obama's failure to deliver it is a sign of cowardice, moral relativism and even anti-Americanism. (Neocon pundit Charles Krauthammer claimed that Obama is displaying a "disturbing ambivalence toward [his] country.") But outrage is not a foreign policy, and their own "moral clarity" resulted in the maiming of an entire country and one of the worst foreign-policy debacles in U.S. history. Instead of mounting their bully pulpit yet again, they should be seeking a confessional."

Gosh Rogue, some of you live on the cutting edge, and others of us live in the outback, and are scrambling to get back on the turnip truck.

This is not a one day story, Rogue. This is a symptom of what is seemingly a deteriorating economic situation that will harm the U.S. and those of us who live here, and by extension probably a great deal of the remainder of the world also.

This is probably the story of the year in terms of the effect on our lives. And it is also a commentary on the ineffectiveness of the mememe administration which is dragging us down into the abyss of economic and then social chaos with its misbegotten policies.

Dumping U.S. debt, and most likely a distress sale, and you are so sanguine as you are adrift on a sinking ship in the middle of a hurricane. What aplomb. I salute you Rogue.

so what..
I usually give him credit for the comments which is more than a lot of writers at the ny times do some times

and when he is right...what difference does it make and corky and others proved him right in his prediction that I mentioned...he talked about the 'obama effect' before RHOM could even pick up the phone for his daily call to cnn..

"good for them! makes me want to go there to dinner with my family this week."

Nothing like tasteless Italian food to make a right winger feel like he is voicing his opinion. I never eat at Olive Garden, I go to real Italian restaurants. I think I'll stay up and watch Dave tonight though,,,his ratings are up you know.

thats right jt

dismiss this tactic when used for GOOD but revere it when it is used for EVIL....ha ha ha ha ha

obama couldnt do without his "statement expiration date'

I never eat at Olive Garden

Olive Garden is OK. Unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks on the lunch menu for under $7. That is pretty darn good value.

well as far as dave...have to admit..I have tuned in to see what he will say..

wont last long

or maybe it will as I gave conan another chance last night...still not funny....

and you have a point about italian...but it has nothing to do with my politics...

Sorry folks, I've got to go, and not because of Jerry's expression of "leftist couth" although I did want to note the deportment of typical leftists, authoritarians by nature, who thuggishly want to prevent expression of ideas contrary to their own, and are not constrained by any ethical or moral standards from their untoward behavior.

As a parting gesture, I ask you to consider "the big con" that this mememe administration is perpetrating. You will notice that it is a brokering administration with nothing anted and nothing on the line. As do some investment scams, they are playing entirely with OP. It's the OP game. That is the Other People's stuff is what is at risk.

You've heard of "OPM," Other Peoples' Money. Well the mememes ave expanded this to say "OPH," Other Peoples' Health or Other Peoples' Health Care. They add nothing and have nothing in the pot. The flimflam men are at work.

Okay AFKABL2, I lateral back to you, and away you go to score another TD. Don't run up too much of a score in your rout, or these disgruntled folk will take their ball and go away, won't want to play any more.

It probably is, it just isn't really authentic and delicious like a good Italian restaurant.

It probably is, it just isn't really authentic and delicious like a good Italian restaurant.

As someone who absolutely loves Italian food, I agree. However, many authentic and delicious Italian restaurants are also very expensive.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants is 'Il Restaurante' in Petosky, Michigan. It's small and quaint with a high ratio of wait-staff to patron. The food is phenomenal and isn't THAT expensive and the wine list is absolutely huge and the wines are barely priced above retail. Also, they have a beautiful herb garden on the grounds with a little brick walk-path going through it.

I love it too and if you do as you have done we can find good ones that aren't that expensive. Plus, I like the idea of spending my money with a local business owner instead of a national chain.

Agreed on both counts.

In Plymouth Michigan we have a Italian restaurant known as 'Campari' - reasonably priced and good food. In Canton we have 'Rose's' and in Redford we have 'Antonio's'. All 3 are good values.

we go several times a year and always get two bottles of their dressing to go - average ticket $100! it's worth it - i had the shrimp and pasta last time - to die for!

My favorite Italian restaurant in Austin:
www.austinvespaio.com

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Italy:
www.hotelcisterna.it

p.s. - there's also a nice local italian restaurant we like - prices about the same. if all of us didn't like some sort of seafood with our sups, the ticket would probably be much lower.

www.ristoranteleterrazze.it

A couple of other winners on Lake Como:
www.bellagio.co.nz

www.bellagio.co.nz

PS - Il Ristorante IS quite expensive, but it's also REALLY good.

A couple of other expensive gems are:

'Little Italy ' - Northville
'La Bisteca' - Plymouth

'La Bisteca' is a little different. Their signature menu items feature Piedmontese beef. These cows are raised on the cooler climate of Northern Italy. They are kept in small pens limiting their movement and thus the development of tough muscle tissue. They are fed nothing but high-quality grains. From a nutritional standpoint, their meat is actually leaner than chicken. The flavor and texture is beyond reproach, but with so little marbling it is very difficult to cook without drying it out. The Filet Mignon literally melts in your mouth. It is THAT tender.

Harry's Bar in Venice ain't bad.
www.cipriani.com

I suppose I'll be thrown off this thread if I said pizza is my favorite Italian food?

Not at all, CChris.

Pizza ia great component of Italian cuisine.

Usually, Italian pizzas are crispy, thin crust affairs with ALL toppings in moderation.

I like to take some fresh basil and sautee it in olive oil - which is the oil I use in my Italian pizza crusts. I then VERY thinly spread some sauce, sprinkle on some crumbled feta and mozarrella and then top with sun-dried tomatoes and carmelized onions. I cook it on a pizza stone, which helps crisp up the bottom of the crust. Once it comes out of the oven I top it with a generous amount of fresh basil.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the
Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their
churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will
resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

Who needs I Italian when we have a Chuck E. Cheese in town? -Max from Grumpy Old Men II.

Rcade,

For fucks sake can you make it so that AFLAC, Tiny Johnson and JeffNSkidmark's post show up in red or something. It would cut down on the aspirin we all need after trying to cut through the bullshit on every thread.

Unless Bayer SA is one of your sponsors in which case I'll just have to grin and bear it.

June 17 Bloomberg.
Two Japanese men are detained in Italy after allegedly attempting to take $134 billion worth of U.S. bonds over the border into Switzerland. Details are maddeningly sketchy, so naturally the global rumor mill is kicking into high gear.

Are these would-be smugglers agents of Kim Jong Il stashing North Korea's cash in a Swiss vault? Bagmen for Nigerian Internet scammers? Was the money meant for terrorists looking to buy nuclear warheads? Is Japan dumping its dollars secretly? Are the bonds real or counterfeit?

These men carrying bonds concealed in the bottom of their luggage also would be the fourth-largest U.S. creditors. It makes you wonder if some of the time Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner spends keeping the Chinese and Japanese invested in dollars should be devoted to well-financed men crossing the Italian-Swiss border.

Let's assume that these U.S. bonds are real. That would make a mockery of Japanese Finance Minister Kaoru Yosano's "absolutely unshakable" confidence in the credibility of the U.S. dollar.

Not bad, Briwo. I still like the original better, but of course Jerry's got a lot of his own that are damn good, too.

Yeah, I liked Jerry's guitar work on this one.

Saw him do it live a few of times. Once was 2 weeks after the SF eathquake in 1989. JGB did a Halloween Show at The Concord Pavillion.

i see why you aspired to be a grade school band teacher.
