Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

In his first remarks responding to the policies of his successor, former President George W. Bush said Wednesday that his administration's interrogation policies were within the law, declared the private sector not government will fix the economy and rejected the nationalization of health care. "I know it's going to be the private sector that leads this country out of the current economic times we're in," the former president said to applause from members of a local business group. "You can spend your money better than the government can spend your money."

I like to think he's harmless

Please Bruce, post it again:
SHUT UP, GEORGE! YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE (and blew it).

Johnson pushing yours in AZ?

No,he enlightens me

Bruce-
Has Johnson enlightened you about the genetic inferiority of the mud people?

Johnson is Horace but won't admit it.

(Ask Johnson, Bruce)

Nah that's alright.I'll save some for another day

Bruce-
You probably should.

Is it just me or does each post on all the threads seem to be running so much closer together these last couple of days?

Makes it a little more difficult to read when there's not much space between posts. I'm going to hit "enter" twice before my very first sentence on this post to see if it leaves more room.

Even when I hit a double space at the end of the last sentence my post it seems to leave no space between my last sentence and "Posted By CalifChris"

Anyone else notice it?

Sometimes glad to provide enlightenment, bruce.

Can only tolerate so much enlightenment per day.Unless Johnson wants en-light-en the doob I'm going to smoke before bed now

Considering how popular Bush was upon leaving office, him speaking up is probably a good thing for Obama.

yes, rcade and now that this potus has made as many or more mistakes than the last, it is his duty to speak up.

he has made as many or more than the last one. How many americans has he killed? how many foreigners has he killed? How many american cities has he allowed to be destroyed? How many treaties has he violated? Nanc, you are a delusional, mentally unstable piece of shit. I do hope that you go directly to hell, quickly. Loveless, the drunk.

"Clearly, there's a level of frustration on the Iranian streets," Mr. Bush said. "It looks like it's not a very fair election."

Bush continued "and I know a thing or two about unfair elections."

Yes, this is trolling. Did I get a bite?

Who are the people who would pay to see and/or hear this man?

Take a look around here, you could compose quite a list.

declaring the private sector not government will fix the economy

That is why he pushed the tarp and AIG bailout. Privatize the profit... socialize the loss. Let's not forget "stimulus checks" that did nothing. Good plan Dumbya.

rejecting the nationalization of health care.

While enjoying the finest health insurance on earth paid for by tax dollars.

They hypocrisy is unending.

How about investing SS in the stock market...that would have been great, huh?

"declaring the private sector not government will fix the economy"

Riiiiiiight.

"The government's top economic experts warn that, without immediate action by Congress, America could slip into a financial panic and a distressing scenario would unfold."
GWB

"We're in the midst of a serious financial crisis, and the federal government is responding with decisive action."
GWB

The stock market has gained about half--maybe slightly more--of the losses from last years fall.

And Bush did abandon his free market principles for that lying sack Paulson and the bailout.

And Bush opened the door for Obama to outspend every POTUS combined.

Who are the people who would pay to see and/or hear this man?

GWB vs. Obama on the economy is like N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys arguing over whose music is more metal.

Do you really want to relive those days? That is how we got here in the first place.

W. should shut the hell up about the Messiah.

He's no longer president, and the graceful thing is to be quiet. The same grace shown by Reagan and Bush.

Oops! Carter spat venom about Reagan non-stop; he still can't shut the fuck up. Clinton was a total ass about W., starting on inauguration day.

Seems that Republicans have manners and a sense of decorum, while Dems are just loud-mouthed whores.

I wouldn't call this "going after" Obama.

So, now Jeffy is to the right of Vermin and Aflacdribble?

His foreign policy is still very much an open book at this point.

Jimmy Carter was a thoroughly acceptable president, and history will accept him. George W. Bush was not. I'm always glad to hear from Jimmy. George makes me wince. herm

Jimmy Carter was a thoroughly acceptable president, - BIZZARO

Yep, 21% inflation and anti semitism. Pardoning draft dodgers and bringind down the Shah. Not to mention he was what libtards would call today - a talibaptist. Bush failed because he forgot who elected him, Carter failed because he was un-American.

Bush should be making his comments from a jail cell.

Bush didn't even mention Curious Barack by name, just defended his own administration's programs.

He didn't even mention Curious O by name. This is "firing back"? Defending his former administration's programs? I expect Obama to do the same, starting 3 years and 8 months (hopefully) from now.

George who?

Did he hit McCain or Palin? Given how he did things, Obama shouldn't worry about being hit by Bush shooting back.

But when can we expect the same level of faux outrage from the righties as when Carter pointed out Dubya was a total fuck-up? Not that nobody didn't already know that.

#19 | Posted by herm

that's your underwear, herm - quick - pull them out from between your cheeks!

Turn that question around... when Carter flaped his lips none on the left thought he should shut up. When Billy ran around after leaving office spewing his crap, did the left say anything?

Maybe you lefties have a selective memory. And GW, unlike those on the left, didn't attack the person who replaced him or the new administration.

You may not like him as a prez (I had problems with lots of things he did), but you have to say he has shown more class so far than either billy or jimbo.

Oh, and for class, spending years running for an office by telling everyone how fucked-up the system was then whining after you get elected cause you didn't know there were problems is just damn ridiculous and childish. Our current prez is quickly becoming a crybaby and chief apologist instead of a commander and chief.

The failed weekend warrior, halfway house counselor, election thief, failed illegal warmaker and deficit spender from hell opens his mouth again. Why isn't he in jail?

Bush was defending his administration. All BHO has done since he has taken office is whine about the prefious administration. BHO needs to shut up, quit whining, and start enacting his pay-go that he keeps talking about.

How about investing SS in the stock market...that would have been great, huh?

#25 | Posted by kanrei at 2009-06-18 11:00 AM

To be honest, Clinton wanted to do that, but not with private accounts.

It seemed to me that our MBA POTUS saw the office of the President solely as a vehicle to enrich his cronies while saddling the nation with as much debt as possible in his 8 years in office.

All BHO has done since he has taken office is whine about the prefious administration.

After all Bush had no criticisms whatsoever of the Clinton administration when he took office.

Yep, 21% inflation and anti semitism. Pardoning draft dodgers and bringind down the Shah.

21 % interest rates were under Saint Reagan. Arming terrorists in the middle east was under Reagan. Sending Marines to be killed and selling missiles to the mad ayatollahs was under Reagan.
Lesson form el squid-if you're gonna be home schooled, at least one of your parents should be literate.

During the first Reagan term, the battle to lower inflation acted to maintain the high real interest rates carried over from the Carter years and, while the increase in structural deficits did not raise real rates much, the reduction in private saving due to the unwinding of the second OPEC shock and an aggressive foreign policy that heightened fear of nuclear war raised real interest rates to levels not seen since the late 1920s

papers.ssrn.com

Well...Dubya might have a point... until Barry Boy was elected to the oval, Georgie was the most unqualified to the office.. if he slams Barry enough, he probably thinks that it will elevate his standing in history.. makes sense in a way since Barry is a total 'flunkee'..!!! actually, he is even beginning to make Georgie look smart in some ways...

Ave Inflation Rate for 5 presidents

Carter 8.25%/year
Reagan-3.38%/year
Bush The Elder-3.60%/year
Clinton-2.29%/year
Bush The younger-2.57%/year

Suck on that one nor. Look it up yourself ace. That 21% rate was from jimmie.

Suck on that one nor. Look it up yourself ace. That 21% rate was from jimmie.

I've posted monthly inflation rate charts in the past. During Carter's term, inflation went up every month save one of the 48 he was in office. It started going up after a two year decline when he took office. It started falling the month after Reagan took office.

Yet you still have people like Danni and da bOoB who stubbonly insist that Carter got inflation under control. That sort of political blindness is too funny to watch.

as a private citizen he has the right to his opinion
jimmie carter admin invented the misery index to show what bad shape the country was in -reagon and bush 1 on elimanated most of the negative factors in it to the point dems never mentioned it in those 12 yrs -what bush says won't influence obama one bit i wish carter would realize that his ain't much better
jasman

"Yet you still have people like Danni and da bOoB who stubbonly insist that Carter got inflation under control."

Actually, as you are well aware, I have stated many times that Carter appointed Paul Volker to get inflation under control and that Reagan left him as Fed. Chairman for the same purpose and thus during the Reagan adminstration inflation was brought under control using extremely high interest rates which created a recession. So, I give Carter the credit for appointing him because he did.

So, I give Carter the credit for appointing him because he did.

So who or what is to blame for the inflation during the Carter years? Don't give me your same wrong answers (oil embargo -- had been over for two years, Vietnam war -- same. At any rate, inflation had been falling for two years until 1977)

FUCK GEORGE W. BUSH, FUCK GEORGE W. BUSH, FUCK GEORGE W. BUSH, THERE NOW I FEEL BETTER AN BY THE WAY fuck all of you Republicans too for giving us that asshole!!!!

Who cares what Carter did or didn't do?

It doesn't matter now.

"Bush Takes Swipes at Obama Policies"...Bad, very bad.

Obama Takes Swipes at Bush Policies....Good, very good.

I think everyone is starting to miss a president like George W. Bush who is consistent and makes sense. Barry says things in the same speech that are completely at odds with each other.

Two types of people are consistent or honest. You cannot be both, facts will get in the way.

Tell us which country Obama has invaded, nanc!

That would be the United States.

You're welcome, Nanc.

I haven't said Obama is an appeaser, Cork.

His foreign policy is still very much an open book at this point.

Bullshit. He's warmongering garbage just like bush. In fact other than being black and not being an imbecile he's almost exactly like bush.

CORRECTION

he was defending his own

and SO THE HELL WHAT??

obama has been ripping him for years now

or are you DRONES telling me that obama is too big of a pussy to take a little heat

NO THATS ME saying that

PROOF...thats easy....fox doesnt kiss his ass and french it like matthews does so he WHINES AND CRIED about it ,..

oh boo boo........
grow a pair barry

funny that the folks here who are saying "shut up george, you had your chance" had exactly the opposite reaction to the Ex prez Carter and Clinton when the took swipes at Bush. They were gun ho and "bring it on!" at that time. What changed?

thats an easy answer GOTT..

the DUPING of america otherwise known as the election of 08.

and its only been a small amount of time but that bloom is definitly beginning to grow brown and begin to wilt

Tell us which country Obama has invaded, nanc!

Oh, give that extremely tired old line a break for God's sake. If Clinton wasn't so much of a pussy we would have invaded a country long before W ever took office. And you don't need to ever worry about Obama invading anybody. We could be struck with a small nuke and he'd just apologize for how horrible America has been.

One thing's for sure. You better hope we don't get attacked on Obama's watch because he won't have the slightest clue as to what to do.

"One thing's for sure. You better hope we don't get attacked on Obama's watch because he won't have the slightest clue as to what to do."

Posts the guy who supported the reader of My Pet Goat.

You mean the guy who actually went after people who attacked us? The one guy who finally had the balls to do something about all of the attacks being made against us by Muslim radicals? Is that the guy you mean?

And you libs have no idea just how stupid you sound when you reference things like My Pet Goat. It's like talking about a non-issue, yet you run it into the ground. Most of the world doesn't care about what Bush was doing when we were hit. Just dolts like you do.

"You mean the guy who actually went after people who attacked us? "

I mean the guy who did exactly what you claim to fear. The funny thing is you can't see the parallel.

"you libs have no idea just how stupid you sound when you reference things like My Pet Goat."

You were the one who brought up "he won't have the slightest clue as to what to do." If it reminds folks of Bush, blame Bush.

"Most of the world doesn't care about what Bush was doing when we were hit. Just dolts like you do."

Yeah, like the 3AM scenario, for example. That got no attention whatsoever, because it was such a non-issue with people. I mean, what does responding to emergency situations have to do with being president, anyhow?

"You mean the guy who actually went after people who attacked us? The one guy who finally had the balls to do something about all of the attacks being made against us by Muslim radicals? Is that the guy you mean?"

Bill Clinton I'm guessing and his Justice Dept. We do have the first atackers or the World Trade Center in jail in Florence Co, the ringleader of the attack and his followers. Where's Bin Landen and al zawahiri? Yes EverShortSighted we have terrorists in jail on US soil. OMG!!!

You bitch when Bush speaks up concerning his feelings on the curent events in the US AND the world while speaking!

Your President bitches about Bush incessantly, blaming him for everything down to a hang-nail and nothing is said!

Obama says 'Bush left ME with a $1.3 Trillion deficit!'

Let's see, $1.3 T, minus the $700 Billion TARP LOAN to Banks, Car Companies, and Insurance Agencies.

Deduct the $14 - 17 Billion gift to Chrysler from Obama.

Add back in interest paid at the rate of 3.5% (of gross) for the first three years AND 8.5% there-after.

Comes to something around $535 Billion deficit! This is well within the 3% of GDP threshhold!

Remember The current Treasury Secretary Geithner WAS directly involved with PAULSON and Bernanke in attempting to resolve these problems. That is PRECISELY why he was selected. He had current (?) knowledge!

This is NOT Bush's fault nor Obama's, YET! CONGRESS!

Not to pass, or even consider, proposed legislation, prepared to identify AND resolve large segments of the financial situation, amounts to irresponsibility or POLITICS at an extremely partisan level!

To prepare Partisan legislation, in the face of this Crisis, is utterly Stupid! We are preparing to drive the road to Perdition, all over again!

There was NO concern for the American people, and extended, the world, as this Crisis unfolded! Need to regain the spotlight!

I am NOT talking about the Executive Branch!

"To prepare Partisan legislation, in the face of this Crisis, is utterly Stupid!"

The voice of reason makes an appearance.

You mean the guy who actually went after people who attacked us?

Bush invaded saudi arabia? Wow.Good thing he didn't piss aaway anyblood or treasure on some non-involved country like Iraq, because that would just be stupid.

Suck on that one nor. Look it up yourself ace. That 21% rate was from jimmie.

Sorry Snippy, interest rates peaked under Reagan.

Hurray! Only 1/2 a trillion new debt!

What a fiscal conservative!

Give him a medal of fuckupdom.

Oh ok then

Hey Bush

GO FUCK YOURSELF!

Ex-President FLIP FLOP speaks!!1

"He deserves my silence, until he doesn't!!"

FLIP FLOP

FLIP FLOP

Ahh, the good old days when he was POTUS and if you said something often enough and loudly enough before a pre-selected audience -- "the former president said to applause from members of a local business group." -- then it magically became reality.

Compare to:

a) Saddam has WMD
b) Saddam was responsible for 9/11
c) "America does not torture. It's against our laws and it's against our values"

et cetera, etcaetera, et fucking cetera.

Just five months ago.

www.kevincassell.com

Bush's comments contradict each other and his actions. Murphy defends him with And Bush did abandon his free market principles for that lying sack Paulson and the bailout

But, but, Bush is the "Decider."

What a great reminder of exactly why Obama (Washboard's idiotic comment noted) was so clearly elected.

Glad to see this guy and Cheney still out there reminding everyone of their failed ideology and policies.

GO FUCK YOURSELF!

watch it dickhead

thats my line

and the USUAL suspects keep trying to make this speech something it wasnt

in ANSWER TO questions, bush defended his policies.
and it stands to reason since obama is dismanteling MANY of those policies that KEPT US SAFE, that it would look like a flip flop but I think a thinking person who isnt blinded by hatred can see thats not the case...
