Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner traveled to Beijing earlier this month to assure the Chinese government that the Obama administration is determined to get control of an exploding U.S. budget deficit, which is projected to hit a record $1.84 trillion this year.

Obama can run up the deficit as high as he wants liberal democrats will still follow him like a pack of lost sheep...

Really

How dare he piss away the surplus Duhhhhbya left him.

Yea your right he should take the deficit liberals were complaining about under the Bush administration multiply that by one hundred and spend even more money we don't have. With liberals whatever the messiah does is just fine even if it is the same thing Bush did only one hundred times worse good luck with that plan...

Here's an idea...

China can go sell all their cheap crap in Japan.

We'll go back to making our own again.

Why put money in companies in a country that seizes ownership...then tells investors to pound salt?

covet our assets? what was i thinking?

Just the other day we had the thread saying that Obama is responsible for a sliver of the deficit yet the same whiney righties still try to pretend otherwise.

danni - he may be responsible for a portion of the deficit NOW, but for the next hundred years the rest of the deficit is on him - history will record this as true.

history will record this as true.

L. O. Fucking L.

he who laughs last...

Do certain democrats really believe Obama is spending less and is the most frugal President we have ever had what a fucking joke you are starting to believe your own rhetoric...

Did ANY liberal Democrats notice China our largest debt holder is becoming increasingly alarmed at OBAMA'S debt proposals NOT Bush remember OBAMA is the President responsible for the new budget proposals for those who keep thinking Bush is still in office...

I second this

what ever happened to stuff "made in japan"?

Your right it was put at 10%.

what ever happened to stuff "made in japan"?

That phrase went from meaning "toys made from old beer cans" to "top quality technical and luxury products of all types."

That's what China aspires to, and they are getting there fast, but it won't happen for them until their local consumption takes off.

That's where they need us. They have to prop us up so that there will be a market to support them coming up to speed with the rest of the developed world and creating a middle class with consuming power.

Without us, they would have nowhere to sell much of anything but their natural resources and it would be much harder for them to get their "Asian economic miracle" started.

Yeah, Dubya is out of office and people where pretty upset with him. But, now those same people are wishing he were back.

Maybe that will end the myth that someone out there is trying to "terrorize" us, to get in on our great medical system, sneak across the river to clean our toilets illegally, maybe take our SUVs or revolvers. Damn, it's hard being numbah one. Everyone wants a part of us. herm

"Dubya is out of office and people were pretty upset with him. Now they wish he were back."

Name someone who saw Bush for what he was and wants him back. herm
