Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Saturday, June 13, 2009

A Georgia homeowner whose cherished family home was mistakenly demolished said he wants to know how a contracted demolition crew could make such an egregious error. The modest, three-bedroom house at 11 Byrd Trail in Carrollton was built by Al Byrd's father in 1950. Now it's a mangled pile of debris. "It was disbelief," Byrd said of the moment he saw the remains of the house where he and his nine siblings were raised. "It was like a mirage."

I wonder if he has retained counsel, yet?

Maybe Joe should give him a call.

Sue the bastards.

This company will lose their bond. I can not even imagine how many local, state, and federal regs were broken.

enough to tick off the good humor guy.

No way a union crew or a minority company.

No prob. The Supreme Dorks already decided government can take property from one citizen and give it to another. Nice to have the Constitution out of the way when it comes to minor nuisances like this, right?

Assuming they have liability insurance, this will take care of a brand new house and contents. The history must live on in the resident family-sadly.

If the demo crew thought it needed wrecking, it probably did need it.

Judgement for the plaintiff in the amount of $50.

I'm fairly sure what #1 is, but don't let me stop you.

#1: Vibrator

Don't they have to shutoff the electrical service, water and gas before they simply bulldoze a home?

The guys doing the demo are lucky they weren't blown to pieces.

Aren't you just supposed to shoot the contractors on the lawn and drag the bodies inside? Or is that only in Texas?

Aren't you just supposed to shoot the contractors on the lawn and drag the bodies inside? Or is that only in Texas?

In Texas, you cut the bodies into 4 pieces and impale them on stakes at the corners of your property - a message to all who would dare to cross you in the future.

Surprise!

If these people were real American's the demo crew would have never gotten near the house. They would have had line mines in the yard and motion activated machine guns.

The only screw up here is on the part of the people who failed to defend their property.

This Homeowner shoulda just laid down in front of the bulldozer in order to save his home.

Mr. Prosser: Do you know how much damage this bulldozer would sustain if I just let it roll over you?
Arthur: How much?
Mr. Prosser: None at all.

K, maybe not.

Be Well.

That guy must've not gotten the memo about how this is now an Ownership Society (TM)!

Didn't Forrest Gump do that to Jenny's old house? lol

I never thought it could happen, but I got the exact same problem with a certain couch in my staircase as dirk had in whatever novel. the laws of physics are at times strange.

This guy deserves a new house~ unless it is part of eminent domain approved by the SCOTUS. Some happy politician wants to redistribute the wealth. Could happen to us all.

Contractors Bulldoze Wrong House

Now that's just flat wrong.

Sincerely,

Rachel Corrie

They used GPS coordinates? How about a fricking address and description of the house, just to be sure? That's unbelievable. The family deserves punitive damages on this one.

No way a union crew or a minority company.

Had to be an illegal crew with poor English skills. They couldn't read their GPS.

With our literacy skill in reading being 15th in the world, it couldn't be a product of our public schools.
