I watched every show of American Idol this year and I can tell you that, Gay or Not, this fucking guy is an artist of the highest caliber.

The only reason he didn't win AI was because he was gay. Everyone knew it. He had all kinds of videos of him in gay revue type shows and even one of him kissing some guy on You Tube. Duh!!! Plus, I think he knows also that it was better for him not to win AI. (If you win, you have to go into the AI pop-star factory program, which has zero to do with art).

I predict before his career is over, we will be saying his name in the same breathe with names like Elvis, Micheal Jackson and Freddie Mercury.

In fact, the rumor is that the remaining members of Queen are planning a reunion tour with Adam singing Mercury's part.

I would be willing to bet that in his future star life, you will ever see him without his metrosexual ensemble. If that includes make-up, so be it.

The thing that is so cool about this guy's singing talent is that when he interprets a song, he doesn't just try to copy the original singer, he gives it a whole new artistic angle. Go look at some of his performances from AI. A few, toward the end, did get a little screechy but overall he is the most artistic contestant on that show ever.

This guys reminds me of a young elvis. I still can't believe he didn't win.

Not a man-crush, I'm jealous. I'm someone that started out in life wanting to be an artist, until I found out that 99.99% of the artists have to starve to be an artist.

I traded my pen and brush for a protractor and mechanical pencil 30 yrs ago. I was able to support my family this way but it never solved my artistic needs. Now, since I am older, I find myself turning more and more to the artistic and away from the technical.

Sincerely had been meaning to ask you, how is your Mom and your stepDad (?) doing? Have you noticed any things they might need around the house now to help them get situated a little better?

Don't forget I can link you to a number of catalogues containing items which might help them a lot. Even just to help pull themselves up out of the bed, bars to help step into the bathtub, shower chairs, any and all of those types of things. Went through needing a number of that type of equipment with my Mom so I'm pretty familiar with what items are available. Just leave me a post if you do.

We watched the show--Adam is truly talented and he will be around for a very long time. Hubby and I thought Adam was going to win. We knew he was gay--but so what! The guy is great!

The problem with AI is that folks like myself and my hubby--don't vote. Teenie boppers vote. They are age 10 thru 18 primarily.

After seeing the final show (which was the best ever) we remembered that Adam was in the bottom three at least once.

And the of last four guys in the show--for sure 2 and possibly the third were considered or viewed of some Christian genre or not like rocking roller Adam.

Adam was the rocker--which in the past shows did not win either--Daughtery lost four weeks before the final show.

When the Golkey guy was voted off--all of his votes--or a great many of them went over to Kris Allen--not Adam.

Adam is his own person and can do anything he wants. He is in charge of his own destiny.

They are mainly attorneys and act like attorneys.

Actually, virtually all of the gay male freinds I have specifically do not do that and don't like it. They appear exactly like any other guy, not one of them would be suspected though all are out. Several though are just too good looking to be straight but not in a feminine or narcicissic sense. Tell you the truth, the mostly remind you of the other guy in the AI competition, the one who won. And, actually they liked him better too though not 100% on that.

5 years from now this guy will look like Mike Reno and no one will give a shit about him. "Adam WHO?" they will ask. Relax, people.

Most of the criticisms have been quite mild and directed at the tactic not the man himself.

The cynical questions he asked himself there were...

"Would coming out openly at this time cause me to lose too many of the Christian block of Idol voters?

Would lying about my sexuality now increase my chances at winning in the short term but make me a pariah in the gay community ferever more?

Should I avoid both options and neither confirm or deny anything in order to avoid antagonising both hardcore gay activists and religious extremists?

Adam went with option C there and it provoked discusion.

The author had no problem with the course of action Lambert took. The author had no problem with his obvious gayness.

The author took issue with those in the media who were lashing out at Lambert for not shouting that he likes penises.

Let me try this a different way:

Let's say a really butch-looking chick was on Idol. Let's say some pics surfaced on the internet of her making out with a guy. Let's then say she was asked if those pics were legit and her reply was affirmative. Would ANY media outlet be chastising her for not shouting that she's a heterosexual?
