1. Saved from the judgment of sin: those in Christ (Jesus died on the cross to take our punishment).
2. Being saved from the power of sin: those living for Christ (and the battle continues --- temptation, imperfections, etc).
3. Saved from the presence of sin: believers in heaven.

A little background above.
Kanrei has a point: death is both a friend and a foe: paradox. A friend in that we are finally released from this sinful world and imperfect and weak body.
A foe in the sense that death came into the world because of sin. So now everyone must die (Hebrews 9:27). Most people don't wish to die, but must die.
This flesh will not enter heaven; only the spirit will enter heaven: man is a spirit being. Our consciousness and knowledge will accompany us into the next world. In hell or heaven, you can remember all your friends and family members and all that you ever came across in life.
For true believers, a spiritual body fit for heaven will be given to them --- cremation, thrown to the lions, decapitated, etc, doesn't matter. For the flesh will not enter heaven. The spiritual body: no decay, ingestion, digestion, excretion that accompanies the physical body.
Death is a graduation. "Form me to live is Christ, to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21).
