The Detroit News
President Barack Obama is maintaining the illusion that he doesn't want to run a car company, even as the details emerge of his administration's deep and daily involvement in the bankruptcy strategies of General Motors and Chrysler.

Congress, on the other hand, has no qualms about declaring its interest in managing the automakers. It wants to call the shots and isn't bothering to pretend otherwise.

The term "Government Motors" didn't materialize out of thin-air.

It means something.

I hope Ford survives this rough stretch and thrives as a result.

I believe they will.

Editorial: The Detroit News is wrong.

There.

That was quite the erudite rejoinder.

This article hits the same nail:

www.washingtonpost.com

Editorial: Another incorrect opinion.

There.

(See how anyone can write whatever the fuck they want?)

Wake me up when you actually counter the posited opinion in a substantive manner.

Anybody can shout, "He's wrong!!!"

However doing so isn't a rejoinder; it's simply noise.

You got it! Exactly like your fucking links.

Took you longer than I thought, but hey I am not complaining........unlike your links.......

Ya gotta love the hypocrisy of the NOPpers, "we think the bail-out is satanic, but please keep plants and donors in my district on the payroll!" Sort of like teabag idol Rick Perry taking 10 million to pimp up his gubernatorial crib because "Texas is too poor to afford it".

*Yawn*

You may actually have a valid point, but until you get off your lazy ass and articulate it, you are acting like a fool.

Anybody can shout, "He's wrong!!!"

I agree Jeff. And that is all your article does. Shouts 'He's Wrong' and nothing more.

This is hardly the only article with this tone written on this subject.

Hoyer's contention is that the automakers are making a poor business decision -- a decision, remember, that was compelled by the Obama administration -- and that there's no need to shut down dealerships to return the companies to profitability.

He joined 110 other Congress members in signing a letter declaring, "It is our view that the market should make these decisions rather than leaving it up to the manufacturers whose poor leadership contributed to their demise."

Ignore the gratuitous slap at Detroit's auto industry and keep in mind that Hoyer and most of the other letter signers are fully onboard the crusade to force all automakers to build vehicles for which the market has shown little appetite.

GM will produce the Volt. And like its predecessor, the EV1, it will be a complete and utter failure. Now that the government is involved, the Volt will happen, and it will suck ass. But, that's government.

Ford, on the other hand, has 2 VERY viable hybrids in the Escape and the Fusion.

Where are Chrysler and GMs hybrids?

More importantly, when in the fuck will congress ease up on emissions standards and thus make diesels viable accross-the-board?

Again, if you have reasoned rebuttal, please offer it. Your tack has gotten tiresome.

Did you get enough sleep last night? You might want to try a Holiday Inn.

I spent last night at a brothel.

Congrats on finding that second job, Jeff. =P

I hope never. You ask where are the hybrids in one sentence and suggest we ease restrictions, eliminating the incentive to make the fucking hybrids?

See why I am short with you? You make no fucking sense.

There are 2 dynamics at play.

1. Given our current political climate, hybrids are valid - they are needed.

2. A slight change to our political climate - softened emmission standards - would bring diesel into play on a wide-scale. When the field is even diesels make more sense than hybrids.

I apologize for conflating the differences. Hopefully this post helps clarify my overall point.

Just OUR money.
