4 out of the 7 most recent major polls on Obama's job approval have him in the 50's for approval ; the average of these 4 being 57.25 %.

Further, Obama's total average for all 7 polls shows approval at 59%, and this number is artificially inflated by the left leaning AP poll.

Yeah, I kinda like I remember when SOMEone had to go away for a while after election day last year.

That's not nice to talk about your womb that way, Nanc. You should be nicer to it, like you are to your tits.

what are you talking about?
The lefties never mentioned Bush's low approval rating at the end of his term.
They were quiet and dignified about it.

...All kidding aside , at what point should we look at the dissatisfaction and buyers remorse -(only 5 + months into his first term , no less!!!) and consider impeachment, and how can we fabricate legal grounds for impeachment ???

These are the important questions to start asking.

Thanx for the laughs 8roper, eberly, and nanc. Glad to see I hit a nerve...

In case my point wasn't clear enough:
The drop in the polls is neither precipitous nor large, and therefore is hardly significant. As such, wild exclamations to the contrary are perceived for what they are: desperate wishing/whinings.

Of course, if/when the poll drops do become large and/or precipitous, I might even be joining with you in the slamming (since they likely would be DESERVED!). Also, at that time, feel free to bray to your heart's content. I'll still be here to absorb whatever abuse you feel is necessary so you can feel better. Till then, thanx again for the laughs...

and this number is artificially inflated by the left leaning AP poll

And artificially deflated by the right leaning Rasmussen poll? Of course, looking at the Rasmussen poll only, Obama has doubled his +/- in the last week.

Remember when rope was calling it a dead heat. Now Rassy has him up by 13!

An approval rating in the 50+% range would enable Obama to easily win an election. I'd guess he's happy with that.

Thanx for the laughs 8roper, eberly, and nanc. Glad to see I hit a nerve...

When the day comes that some bozo from "The Drudge Retort" can hit a nerve, you will be at the bottom of the list of possibilities.

Americans have spoken, they want a "do-over" on the election.

get over it.

go have a samwich.

The stupidity of that observation defies words.

This is not a head to head election poll.
He is not being contrasted against another option.
This is a poll that says - now that you are stuck with this guy, are you happy or not.

With Obama's approval rating higher than the percentage of people who voted for him seven months ago?
How stupid can you get?
Don't bother answering. It's a rhetorical question.

"obama polling badly puts the following DR posters into a tizzy"

Well, having been included on your little list I'll point out that I'm hardly in a "tizzy." I'm mildly amused that you'd latch onto this fundamentally insignificant point and proclaim that "AMERICANS WANT A DO-OVER." (Especially seeing as how Obama's positive ratings now are actually higher in terms of percentage than the votes-approval he garnered last November.) Now, that qualifies as a "tizzy."

Once again -- and I'm going to go real slow so you might actually undrstand it this time: When...I...asked...how...stupi

A lot can happen in 3 1/2 years, but yes, for the last six months Obama has been in the "One term Lane" of the Presidential Highway.

You can't be serious.....

I am serious K, perception is reality in politics and, if no one knows about it, it didn't happen politically.

Why did I type the K?

for the last six months Obama has been in the "One term Lane"

If unemployment is around 6% in 2012, the stock market is hovering around 12,000 pts, there are no terrorist attacks on US soil, and there are no real "gotcha" moments in the next 3 1/2 years, I cannot see a scenerio where he loses re-election.

C'mon, you didn't even have time to read all that, lol.

I'm unable to speak for the others, but as for this "bozo": you're mistaken. Meanwhile, it's PAINFULLY obvious who is actually in a tizzy...

Why did I type the K?

You're really Mr. Mackey?

Kan, the only one I am really concerned about is the unemployment rate. I think it will be tough to get it down to 6% by 2012, but I feel comfortable with the rest of the factors.

If unemployment is around 6% in 2012, the stock market is hovering around 12,000 pts

I sort of lost interest in the rest of your post after you mentioned 12,000 DOW.

If we get that then I'm happy.

Yeah, I'm selfish.

The biggest hurdle Obama will have to overcome to get a second term is the gap between expectation and reality. If he can successfully lower the unrealistic expectations of his most rabid followers, he will get a second term, but right now they are demanding he reverse the rotation of the Earth and will accept nothing less.

"The biggest hurdle Obama will have to overcome to get a second term is..."

...a hop, skip, and a jump compared to cravass the GOP must get across.

but right now they are demanding he reverse the rotation of the Earth and will accept nothing less.

I don't know about that. Some of his most "rabid" followers here like Danni just spin and spin and won't hold him accountable for anything.

For some, partianship is more important.

#42 I hope we are both right and neither party wins in 2012. We need new blood.

We need new blood.

Not Paultard blood though. King Paultard would be the worst thing that could happen to this country, next to a nuclear attack...or Barbara Bush going topless.

"Is Obama polling at an avaerage of 57% approval in 4 out of the 7 latest major polls? yes or no."

If you cherry-pick that exact way, and count only those polls and no others, and you don't throw out the high or the low, and you get to pick and choose which polls count (agree with you) and which ones don't (disagree), then I would have to say the answer is...yes.

It's called cherry picking.

#15 | Posted by 8roper

Approval is a huge factor in determining how a candidate fares in an election. That you (and Repubs) don't understand that is why you lost the last couple of elections and likely will lose the next few.

you guys on the left here, doc, AILTD et al are already defending yourselves that you can win the next election - as if perhaps you are nervous or something.

I have a history of postong Obama poll numbers
(see fredo_c)
and my accompanying point always has been, "he is losing popularity"

He is.

I never spoke of whether or not this proves he could win another election.

I have alwys just pointed out he is trending down in popularity- a lot of voters are showing buyers remorse.

none of what I say is false.

all of what I say is proven in the polls

a lot of americans want their money back

go ahead say he can win the next election- that might also be true -

but the bloom is off the rose - you cannot logiically prove otherwise.

cherry pick my ass- he is below 60% looking at ALL RCP POLLS? ok?

and he has , in fact dropped well down into the 50s range for MOST of the RCP polls.

this is a true fact .

you cannot argue it

it is not cherry picking to say that

you all may blow me now.

but take it easy on me....make sure i can hold off until Danforth's turn so i can blow it on Danforth's tits.

he is below 60% looking at ALL RCP POLLS

Do you open your links before you post them? 3 of the polls cited by RCP show him greater than 60%, and a fourth has him 4/100ths of a point from 60%.

Should be 4/10ths, not 4/100ths.

Should be 4/10ths, not 4/100ths.

LOOKING AT ALL RCP POLLS

sorry tax - i think you can , and should, interperate that sentence to mean looking at all polls averaged together, he is below 60%

why are you splitting hairs on semantics

are you bored?

wanna suck a cock?

"a lot of americans want their money back"

Even more don't. When it comes to elections, the majority rules.

"you guys on the left here, doc, AILTD et al are already defending yourselves that you can win the next election - as if perhaps you are nervous or something."

I understand that in your bi-polar world (tm of goatman) that one must be either "right" or "left", but i'm neither. And am therefore emphasizing that your "point" is meaningless. Actually, I'm more afraid that the Repub are trying hard to make themselves meaningless and that would be a very bad result for the nation.

"cherry pick my ass- he is below 60% looking at ALL RCP POLLS? ok?"

Well, not okay, of course. Complete bullshit. When you're called on it, all you can do is squeal:

"i think you can , and should, interperate that sentence to mean looking at all polls averaged together, he is below 60%"

Why,when you said something altogether different?

"why are you splitting hairs on semantics"

Since semantics involve the study of meaning, don't you want your words to be understood with some clarity?

"wanna suck a cock?"

Not interested. But, please, whatever trips your trigger.

"a lot of americans want their money back"

LOL since when does disapproval of his policy turn in to wanted a new election? Making a bit of a "logical" leap there.

You seem rather proud of yourself for "predicting" what everyone knew would happen anyway. No shit the luster was going to wear off, people really did want, dare I say it, a change from the past eight years. Obama looked good during the election and now people are seeing what he's really about.

You're incredibly foolish if you didn't think disagreements would arise and poll numbers would fall.

The lowest poll has him at 56% which is still in the upper 50's - so your "way down" statement is bunk. Moreover, RCP average is at 59.6% which is closer to 60% than it is to 59%. Again, you are full of shit.

www.infoplease.com

Since 1950, only two presidents have remained above 40% approval-Eisenhower and Kennedy with Kennedy being the only one to stay above 50%. (and who knows where he would have ended up over the full four years)

Again, you're an idiot of the highest quality if you think dropping below 60% is a major milestone to cheer.

"wanna suck a cock?"

The question was rhetorical..... Fredo hasn't really had anything to offer since the operation.

www.freakingnews.com

cherry pick my ass- he is below 60% looking at ALL RCP POLLS? ok?"

Well, not okay, of course. Complete bullshit. When you're called on it, all you can do is squeal:

this is tiresome and boring

here is my last post today on this thread:

Cuz I am right, you are wrong:

"LOOKING AT ALL RCP POLLS" means - taking the sun total result of all the polls. and he is in fcat below 60%

IF i had said " in EVERY ONE of the RCP POLLS HE IS BELOW 60% , I would be wrong.

say I am back peddling or whatever, but I have nothing to backpeddle from

Looking at all RCP polls, he is below 60%

Thank you (if true).

i can't wait for him to go into the negative...you know, when the other countries that mean so much to him weigh in.

Of course, polls still show Dems with a growing favorability compared with a month ago

How do you figure? The averaged numbers for approval are lower, according to RCP, than any time since his inauguration. In addition his disapproval numbers are at the highest since his inauguration.

How you translate that to "growing favorability" is mystifying.

How do you figure? The averaged numbers for approval are lower, according to RCP, than any time since his inauguration.

First, I am talking about the party numbers, not the presidential poll. Secondly, I said within the last month the dems have made gains on the repubs:

Quinnipiac 5/26 - 6/1 42 32 Democrats +10
Quinnipiac 4/21 - 4/27 41 34 Democrats +7

Total gain in a month = 3%

Democracy Corps (D) 5/26 - 6/1 (Dem) 52 (Repub) 39 Democrats +13
Democracy Corps (D) 5/10 - 5/12 (Dem) 46 (Repub) 43 Democrats +3

Total gain = 10%

Diageo/Hotline 4/23 - 4/26 (Dem) 39 (Repub) 31 Democrats +8
Diageo/Hotline 3/26 - 3/29 (Dem) 37 (Repub) 32 Democrats +5

Total gain = 3%

Rassumussen show it going back and forth on a consistent basis.

First, I am talking about the party numbers, not the presidential poll. Secondly, I said within the last month the dems have made gains on the repubs:

That has nothing to do with Obama's "favorability". Any attempt to paint it as such is just being disingenuous (to put it nicely).

It would be more credible to claim that it is more to do with lower opinion of Republican's that a higher opinion of Democrats. Obama has nothing to do with it as the latest poll numbers show.

That has nothing to do with Obama's "favorability".

No shit Sherlock, that is why I posted two links in my original post. One showing Obama's numbers, which are quite good considering recent economic events, and another showing Dem numbers increasing as compared to Dems over the last month.

What's your point?

As long as the republican tards keep nopin and coming up with bullshit alternative bills and policies that don't reflect what America wants obama's numbers will stay up high.

Republicans are not aware they are the contributing factor in obama's and the democratic party rise.

Have yet to see a smart GOP policy plan in years.

The last bastion of idiots still hanging with the party hoping with utmost FAITH that this is only temperary.

One showing Obama's numbers, which are quite good considering recent economic events

Actually the numbers are showing, as I pointed out, and increasing disapproval and a declining approval. While the over-all numbers have been up it definitely shows a downward trend. There have also been claims that his numbers in the general poll are up, but on the issues they are low. If this is true, it would bolster the argument that his good polling is almost entirely based on personality, and not job performance.

As far as Dem numbers increasing, I would say that the poll you posted hardly reflects that More people like Democrats. When you have a two sided scale and you reduce one side, both sides move. That doesn't mean that both sides changed. Besides, one month isn't enough of a trend to speak of.

Obama's declining approval and rising disapproval, however, is reflected since inauguration not just in the past month.

An approval rating in the 50+% range would enable Obama to easily win an election. I'd guess he's happy with that.

#13 | Posted by AILtd

Yeah, well just wait for the soaring inflation, high gas prices, and the reality that the stimulus didn't work to hit. If you think he'll be in the 50's by then you're crazy.

Actually, in a Gallop poll just two days ago it had Obama at 48% approve and 48% disapprove. I can't recall the term they used to describe it but it equaled a zero popularity index.

No wonder this is on the back page.
