Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The GOP faithful didn't open their wallets as they have in the recent past at the annual Senate-House fundraising dinner. The event, led by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, took in $14.5 million, the lowest total in at least five years.

I heard Repube stratigists talking last night about how the success of current GNOPer efforts to regain momentum could be measured by the amount of money they were able to gather from donors at this fundraiser.

Bye, bye, 'MO.

"Standing in as the party's de facto leader, Gingrich..."

Yes, Virginia, that's all they got!

$14 million?

That's chump change to what Obama collected from small, overseas Arab donors.

It's a shame that this kind of fundraising is not banned.

But only for Republicans, of course. Democrap money is always honest and pristine

Ha ha.

Ha ha.

Or, in David Lynch "Twin Peaks" world...

ha Ha.

Not terribly surprising, fundraising in the first of a 4 year election cycle is often anemic - for both parties. You also need to consider that with fewer Senate and House members the big punch for fundraising is smaller.

Kind of throws the "outrage" the teabaggers are supposed to have under the bus though.

yeah thats right boys and girls and "OTHERS"...(and you KNOW who you are.)..

keep on with the 'mark twain' commentary and you simply wont know what hit you

UNLESS you see the move to the right all over europe and in great britain where they have been spending just like we have and it has resulted in a definite shift to the right and YES...that move to the right still isnt enough to get them admission into anyplace I might go to but its a start and if you punks can see that, then so much the better.

please keep on telling us all about the end of the republican party. sounds a lot like my first years back into teaching.,..around 1980...GEE what happened in 1980???????????????

punks can see that,

should read

punks CANT see that...

So, do you feel lucky, punk?

"GEE what happened in 1980???????????????"

That's easy, we discovered "deficits don't matter."
We also watched the Republicans declare war on the middle class led by President Ronnie Raygun.
Unfortunately, he's still winning and the middle class is soon to be a memory.

Apparently Sarush and the Toddster were the real hit at the party. Looks like the NOPpers just aren't that into you, Newt....

Not really...most at the tea parties were sick and tired of all the big spending pols.

many republicans/independents/
libertarians i know are putting their dollars behind individual candidates rather than under the gop banner. it is up to them to change, not u.s.

GEE what happened in 1980

The teabag parties were all about outrageous spending. Had nothing to do with fundraising.

But please, keep straining at gnats. It's fun to watch

And Danni, once again, hits "Ctrl-F9"

"The teabag parties were all about outrageous spending."

If that were the truth they would have been all the rage during the Dubya years.

Exactly. That Mastermind and his henchman, Cheney endorsed that stimulus check, didn't they? $1M for every new job they created. Well done.

"Exactly. That Mastermind and his henchman, Cheney endorsed that stimulus check, didn't they?"

You guys like to pretend anyone but Bush was at the wheel when the ship of state was driven off the cliff, don't you?

I'm all about records; in this case spending. How long has your boy been in office?

So, do you feel lucky, punk?

You are so Dirty Harry "The Doc" Sarvis.

Newt's speech was great.

Lots of applause and he was ripping Obama with his stimulus projections that have already failed.

"I'm all about records; in this case spending. "

Then I'm sure you can link to many posts where you excoriated Bush for his record spending. Link away.

"How long has your boy been in office?"

The President I voted for has yet to enact his first budget. That fiscal year begins October 1, 2009.

Good Ole Newt! Picking up right where he left off....as a loser.

Spending is only tied to the fiscal Budget? I bet you work for the Goverment in some capacity. Or are you a Public School Teacher?

Gingrich/Palin
vs.
Bush/Scraborough

what a bad joke. did you hear Scarborough on the news tonight trying to defend his "states rights" pro-life position? fucking asshat.

why are these ppl on TV and writing books -- like William "the Fascist" Bennett? why do we need ppl set up as pundits that are far stupider than the general population?

absurd, dangerously absurd. dangerous = wars sold as of "moral" choice.

PHOOEY. NUTS.

Well, you're a fucking asshole, so what else is new?

My previous comments were to the unemployed idiot cheese head known as "W" is God.

"I bet you work for the Goverment in some capacity."

How much?

Sorry I can't stay and chat with you douchebags, I'm in Tahoe and you just can't spoil my mood.

"Care to enlighten me in general terms what you do for a living?"

Why? You were willing to bet a few posts ago. Change your mind?

Sure, I'll give 5-1 odds you can make something up.

Gingrich: "I am not a citizen of the world. I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous!"

Ronal Reagan (in introduction to the U.N.):
"I speak today as both a citizen of the United States and of the world"

Bush 43:

"To Vladimir Horowitz for his extraordinary achievements and distinctive style as a pianist whose concerts brought pleasure to audiences everywhere and whose contributions to music made him a citizen of the world."

Obama (referring to himself): "...a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world."

Don't worry Newt. No other country wants you.

"Sure, I'll give 5-1 odds you can make something up."

I'll take that bet. How much are you willing to lose?

I'll take that bet. How much are you willing to lose?

I'll back you up. Anyone that's paid attention knows both Danforth's vocation and his avocation.

"Anyone that's paid attention..."

Well, that would eliminate Wisgod.

Well based on all the reports of the death of the republican party, $14.5 mil is pretty good.

From what I hear in the media, the republicans are regulated to a couple of small counties in east Kentucky.

;-)

Anyone that's paid attention..."

Well, that would eliminate Wisgod.

You and you're groupie Yav have me at a real disadvantage here. But keep sidestepping the question since Yav threw his panties your way once...I guess the rest of us slept threw that career/vocation post of yours. LOL,

I'll back you up.
#43 | Posted by YAV

Is it your turn to be the "man" tonight, cupcake?

"But keep sidestepping the question"

I'm waiting for you to back up your bet, speaking of sidestepping. Why did you run when the subject of a wager arose?

"Is it your turn to be the "man" tonight, cupcake?"

It's obviously not yours. I'll repeat: how much are you willing to lose?

Wiz, where did you run off to?

Rip on Newt all you want. When he was Speaker of the House and the Senate was Republican controlled, they actually worked with Clinton and balanced budgets, had budget surpluses, reformed welfare,Paid off $360 billion of the national debt. This was all done with Federal budgets under $2Billion ending in 2000. That only happens with one party controls the White House and the other controls Congress. Bush and the Repubs spent like drunken sailors for the last 8 years and now Obama, Pelosi and Reid are spending like drunken members of the Saudi royal family.

"Gingrich-led GOP fundraiser falls short"

THATS BECAUSE THE DEMOCRATS ARE NOW THE PARTY OF THE RICH!

But Oozie - I thought we were all on welfare.

Now which is it, silly boy?

Wiz, where did you run off to?

I went to bed after assuming that you wouldn't deliver an answer.

"I went to bed after assuming that you wouldn't deliver an answer."

So how much are you willing to lose?

"I went to bed after assuming that you wouldn't deliver an answer."

Try a different lie. I answered in 16 minutes.

Considering the state of the party and the economy, $14M isn't terrible. It's just funny to see the tension and bickering between these kids as they jockey for position. You've got the choice between a has-been and a hillbilly crackpot...good luck with that.

You did?

"You did?"

Yes. #47 to #48.

So how much do you want to bet, or are you backing out?

Yes. #47 to #48.

So how much do you want to bet, or are you backing out?

#58 | Posted by Danforth

Where in #47 or #48 did you answer the question?

Oh, I see. You want to make a bet based on what you are going to claim is your occupation, backed up by Yav no less.
Do you take Master Card or PayPal?

choice between a has-been and a hillbilly crackpot...good luck with that.

There's always the cultist in the funny underwear for the radical Republicans.

If the Republicans march out one of these has-beens again in 2012, I'll be staying home, oiling my guns. Now if it's Paul Ryan...

We also watched the Republicans declare war on the middle class led by President Ronnie Raygun.
Unfortunately, he's still winning and the middle class is soon to be a memory.

#10 | Posted by danni at 2009-06-09 11

would you please email this to dc and let obama know how pissed you get at deficit spending.
and the middle class will be a memory all right. they will be paying for this shit for so long that they wont be moving up anytime soon.
and tell all those car dealers who have a PROFIT for the past year but are being closed anyway to support the UAW about this problem.

From the guy who claims he isn't now, or ever was a republican.

#38 | Posted by northguy3 at 2009

where were you when you pulled this out of your ass?

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

this thread is a good example of what the democrats along with THIER STATE RUN MEDIA do to get elected.

they make sure that most people who dont pay attention here all about how the republicans only appeal to one group of people and then they proceed to lie and make up shit about those people so the ones who dont pay attention will think that the democrat leadership actually GIVES A SHIT if something is done to help poverty or the poor and disadvantaged

and DONT BELIEVE HL HUGHLEY who said on MAHR that before reagan he didnt remember ever seeing poor people but now he does because of RR"S abandonemnet of social programs.

THATS just one example of the STATE RUN MEDIA telling lies to people who dont pay attention themsleves to whats going on

SO HERE AT THE OLE RETORT...our dems are being just as disengenuous as the dems on a national level are about the republican party because thier goal is to make up shit about the opposition and then you wont notice when the dems DONT DO SHIT About the problems they say we caused but you had better vote for them because the EVIL REPUBLICANS wont help them when democrats HAVENT done shit either.

REAGAN cleaned up the shit carter left and now that things look bad what do dems do

GO RIGHT BACK TO CARTER BULLSHIT and thats supposed to HELP>>>>...nonsense..

and you are all being duped in to being the same sory of cultist clones that you accuse us of being and dont see it.

"Where in #47 or #48 did you answer the question?"

Read #48 again. I agreed to answer once you backed up your offer of a bet. You've been tap dancing ever since.

"Oh, I see. You want to make a bet based on what you are going to claim is your occupation, backed up by Yav no less"

You're the dumbass who suggested it.

But I'll be happy to provide ample proof, provided the price is right.

B-movie star Jon Voight was the opening speaker and told everyoie Obama was a kenyan-islamaic-christian with ties to both the nazis and communists and cookie stealers in general.

I'm just surprised that the righties here haven't complained about the Hollywierdians butting into politics again....

What's that word I'm thinking of? Hypotenuse? No. Hypothyroid? No. Hypo something though...
