HHHHIIIIYYYYYAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Sometimes desert is better and comes second.

Sometimes desert is better and comes second.

Sometimes there is an accidental double click resulting in a double post. This makes being second even better. Right?

CAn someone explain what this means

Bring out the royal taster

Can I have some ketchup with that?

Can someone explain what this means

Bring out the royal taster

Here is your answer. Read the entire article. You'll find it interesting.

"Does The President Have An Official Food Taster?"

Plus back in the day, Kings would have a Royal taster to tast their food first to make sure it wasn't poisoned.

Today's Sunday sermon....

We came into the world with nothing. We will exit the material world with nothing.

But to the secular world, he who ends with most toys wins. Temporal.

To the true believer, he who endures to the end and wins a crown of eternal life wins. James 1:12. Eternal.

Elvis?

RCADE would like a link to a pic. I sent a few.

You people really want something by Tosser to be up there? LOL

The previous photos haven't been set-ups, Photoshopped pics with a spin, but real photos that conveyed a particular Moment.

I can't think of any recent ones off hand, and I do like Aretha, but I can see the need for a new one soon.

RCADE --

How about someone I consider to be one of the "heros" of 2009. His photo is linked with his name.

Captain Chelsey B. Sullenberger

On January 15, 2009, Sullenberger was the Captain of US Airways Flight 1549 who landed his Airbus A320 on the icy Hudson River (after both engines shut down when a flock of geese flew into them) and saved all 155 passengers and crew aboard.

I'm still in awe of his heroic actions.

bwt -- my suggestion in #11 of putting up an Elvis photo was merely tongue-in-cheek (well, sort of lol)

People should pay good money to see me nekkid.

I am that cool looking.

After hearing of another incident of alleged police brutality, I'm beginning to form an opinion that maybe citizens in NJ should be able to carry concealed fire arms as they do in Florida and Texas. My suspicion is that armed citizens would be a deterrent to abusive police.

And really, isn't that what the 2nd Amendment is about; protecting the citizen against the state?

"People should pay good money to see me nekkid."

They pay me not to. It's a living...

People should pay good money to see me nekkid.

That's what your mother said.

#24, WA too. I have a Concealed Weapons Permit and usually am carrying in some way when I go out.

Primex was registered as Primex Holdings, L.L.C. in NYS in October of 1998. Primex is a joint venture involving a digital trading auction which operates out of Bernie's 18th floor office at 885 Third Ave. Madoff's business partners in the Primex Exchange were Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and Merrill Lynch. The program likely facilitated siphoning profits by getting in front of large trades. None of these big four lost a dime on Madoff. It is likely they knew what he was doing and chose to remain silent. Primex was run on the NASDAQ exchange and eventually retired as suspicions rose. Yet no prosecutions, much less investigations. Thank Cox for that.

Did Bernie give any business to this joint venture? Did any of the above brokers have any investments or losses with the Madoff Fund? If not why not? It was one of the most successful funds, on paper, on the Street?

Let's hope this one does not disappear down a black hole like the enormous put option positions placed on the airline stocks just prior to 9/11.

The derivatives market continues to put our entire country at risk with $684 trillion in bets outstanding. Yet Bernanke, Geithner and Summers continue to fight reinstituting regulation. The bulk of the bailouts have been paid to fraudsters. This scandal dwarfs Iraq, as if that could be possible.

UH OH!!!!

Us justice foundation has just released obama personal school records they recieved through various legal means

seems that mister obama's undergraduate work at occidental college was done on a scholarship there that was for foreign students ONLY and in fact you had to PLEDGE that you were a foreign student to get it.,..............Mmmmmmmmmm

and while Im sure that will do nothing here but draw ignorant, moronic, and personal demeaning remarks towards me here but then why did the obama campaign SUPPOSEDLY spend 950,000 in funds to hide his personal records???

hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmm

and if the matter is closed then why is this justice foundation reporting that the supreme court is going to look into the matter of his citizenship

NOW I am full aware of the reaciton to this from most of you but who gives a shit anyway..

the point is...for some reason this just wont go away now will it????????????????????????????
???

Allow me to respond to "Johnson" in yesterday's nooner:

"herm, did you ever go to high school? Did the school field sports teams? Did you sit in the end zone even as a teenager to demonstrate your alienation and lack of affiliation with any other folks? Most of us are not afflicted with such alienation and anomie, and identify with and cheer for the home team, herm. And shucks, we thrive on the competition with other teams. It stimulates some of us to try to push our limits."

Yes, yes and no. I sat on the 50. I rooted for my school, the "home" team, even when it came out that our football coach had ordered his line to break the leg of an opposing team's star runner.

"Did you ever hear "Take me out to the ball game," herm? It contains a phrase, "Root, root, root for the home team. If we don't win it's a shame." Are you too sophisticated and cosmopolitan, herm, to have "a home team?" Do you figure that somehow that makes you "superior," well morally superior anyway? Why? How?"

Actually, J, the phrase is "if THEY don't win it's a shame." I am no longer in high school. I recognize my home team as flawed. Our country right or wrong, to be sure, but our country: if wrong to be set right... herm

I understand this will be followed by various vulgar remarks but it shows one important thing going on now.
notice in more than one place, this prohibits in 'jesus name' but doesn nothing to limit the mentioning of 'allah'..

and I also understand that many of you here dont give a damn about that but those of us interested in the constitution of the unites states sort of do.

On 4 June 09, the committee voted 12-7 along strict party lines, to forward the nomination of Judge David Hamilton, the anti-Jesus Judge, the same judge who issued controversial rulings banning public prayers offered "in Jesus name," (but allowing prayers to Allah), and hastening the abortion of unborn children. Now this anti-Jesus Judge Hamilton will face the full Senate, and the threat of filibuster by the pro-faith, pro-family Senator James Inhofe (R-OK).

ANTI-JESUS, BUT PRO-ALLAH?

Judge Hamilton wrote: "The injunction orders the Speaker...that the prayers should not use Christ's name or title or any other denominational appeal...If those offering prayers in the Indiana House of Representatives choose to use the Arabic 'Allah'...the court sees little risk that the choice of language would advance a particular religion or disparage others."

In other words, Judge Hamilton ruled the words "Jesus" or "Christ" or "Savior" are illegal words, prohibited for public speech, banned by the First Amendment, which somehow prohibits freedom of religious expression, and makes Christian prayers ILLEGAL, but prayers to Allah are TOTALLY LEGAL in a public forum. (What crazy version of the First Amendment is he reading?)

"My country, right or wrong" is a thing no patriot would ever think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying "My mother, drunk or sober."
GK Chesterton, 1901

And now it appears that obama must have been on the side of perez hilton when he chose to give himself those warhol 5 mins..

and AGAIN...just imagine the noise if this were a bush appointment who yelled and cursed at people who WERENT homosexual 'fans'.....

www.catholic.org

Hey, Afk--link on the fact that the SC is pursuing the matter of Obama's citizenship?

Also, just because some foundation is putting out "information" doesn't mean it's accurate information. Lots of foundations lie and obfuscate and spin. I'm not saying that these people are, but they could be. (And so could Obama, and so could those who support him, etc. etc.)

I still find it hard to believe that the vetting process would allow any politician to make it through state legislature, national legislature, and into a presidential campaign. Do you really think that the Democratic machine would not have investigated fully and made sure their guy wasn't a fraud? Okay, you can answer that they're full of shit, bunch of liars, blah blah blah, but why would they want to set us up for a Constitutional crisis, in which crisis their guy is likely to go down? This is big-time conspiracy stuff.

And do _you_ want a Constitutional crisis? I can't even begin to imagine what would happen if he proved not to be a citizen. Ye gods. I cannot imagine it would mean, say, that McCain would be awarded the presidency. I expect we'd have to go back to pre-primary. Or start all over. Wouldn't that just be awesome?

All that said, if the wool has been pulled over our eyes, I am interested in truth. I just can't imagine it's what you think it is. Nor can I imagine what you're hoping for. A Constitutional crisis on a level we just can't imagine? You want something to destroy our nation, or to tear us apart for at least a while? I think this would do it.

Afk--in the quote I read (maybe I missed something), the fellow didn't yell at or curse out those not in favor of his agenda. He cursed _about_ them. There is a difference. Hell, Cheney did worse on the floor of the fucking Senate. : ) And I'm not sure how this fellow's "homosexualist agenda" is relevant to whether or not he'll do a good job in the office to which he's appointed. If he were a drug addict, I'd see your point. I know gay kids in my school, and it seems to me that someone who understands their dilemma in a position of power is a good thing. (Of course, you'll probably say they should shut up, pray out the gay, or burn in hell, but they're people too. And all people deserve to be safe in school. To be fair, in my school it's not been an issue. I've seen more discrimination aimed at the few black kids than I have at the equally few gay kids.)

I guess my main point was that for some reason the obama campaign...according to this group..spend almost one million just to keep records from the public.
at the least EVERYONE should be at least suspicious of that.

also the issue of the supreme oourt was in this same mailout that came to me,
it said something about scalia and this issue.
will continue to look for it

RustyAflacabibble, I hear Lithium is pretty easy to get these days.

You should think about it.

when was the last time that you actually made comments about an issue here rather than just chime in with some nonsensical bullshit?

just wondering

funniest thing I have seen in weeks, watching crank 2, shoot out in a strip bar. one of the strippers gets shot in her breasts and the silicone leaks out

still laughing

Hey, Afk, can you provide some proof on the amount of money spent to keep these records private. You even said SUPPOSEDLY in your post. Then you talk about it as if it is a definite, provable thing.

And if said money was spent, was it spent to keep the records private, or was it spent on lawyers to deal with a bullshit case? If someone litigates, you don't just sit back and let them win. Even frivolous cases require lawyers.

But I have no evidence. Just supposition, like yours. Granted, my line of reasoning is reasoned; yours appears to be paranoia and/or fear and/or looking for a reason to demean/devalue the PRESIDENT. I like how you neatly avoided all of my questions and sidestepped into "Shouldn't people wonder?" Of course, they should. I always wonder about litigation and how money is spent. 950,000. Let's see--that's hundreds of my salary. Now let's play that game with other questionable things that politicians do, things regarding which we have not the foggiest notion of details.

Here is a great chance for Obama to put some money where his mouth is. He could even pay back the taxpayers for some of his dates, photo ops and even those Wednesday night galas not to mention a new pair of tennies.

From Yahoo news link tonight, the reason I have been warning about reaction to bailout/spending economics. The only difference here in America is that the Bush Pubs were almost as bad as the Dems are now so the voters might see no real alternative.

BRUSSELS Conservatives scored victories in some of Europe's largest economies Sunday as voters punished left-leaning parties in European parliament elections in France, Germany and other nations.

Some right-leaning parties said the results vindicated their reluctance to spend more on company bailouts and fiscal stimulus to combat the global economic crisis.

The European Union said center-right parties were expected to take the most seats 267 in the 736-member parliament. Center-left parties were headed for 159 seats.

Lakers by 5 in overtime. Psych!

From Yahoo news. Too much! I mean, there's soooo many genders out there. I grok, man. Grammar has to catch up with reality, I mean, like, y'know?

BURLINGTON, Vt. Like plenty of other high school students, a group of about a dozen Vermont teenagers trundled into a youth center one day every week this spring to participate in an after-school program.

But their program was different; it focused on gender.

The nine-week program, partially funded by the Burlington School District, was held at Vermont's Queer Youth Center and called "Gendertopia."

Gay, lesbian and straight students discussed a wide range of topics, from the characters in the book and movie "Twilight," to taking photos around the city that show the different ways gender is portrayed in popular culture.

"Most people come into it thinking, 'Oh, there's two genders and two sexualities' ... ," said David Kingsbury, a 16-year-old junior at Burlington High School who signed up for the program. "People assume it's boy and girl, but it's so much more than that. There's a whole world out there full of different genders."

TO LAPTOP GEEKS --

Just a couple of questions on laptop computers -- for anyone who feels like answering

What is the difference between a "notebook" and a "laptop"? I was watching some shopping networks today that were showing computers and they kept talking about both types -- notebooks and laptops.

I'm looking to buy a wireless laptop (with the wireless built in so I don't have to figure out how to use a router -- if there is such a thing as wireless being built-in). Nothing fancy, I'm not a gamer so don't need superspeed, and just a regular sized lapstop screen (how big would that be? 19")?

I also want to get a decent keyboard 'cause I hear everyone say many laptop keyboard's keys are so flat they're hard to type on. I looked at a couple laptops at Office Depot and the keys are rather flat. I don't have big hands so that's no problem. Would be willing to buy a used laptop. Is there a DR geek on here who's looking to upgrade their current laptop and wants to sell their old one? (Geeks are always looking to upgrade their computers one better lol). If so, would the guarantee still be good and is it transferable to the new owner?

I've now got a Dell 4600 Windows XP (Microsoft 6) and I like it. Don't want Vista or the new untried programs. But my Dell is one of those old large computer monitors and I'll need a laptop for easier traveling -- one where I can just plug it in at a restaurant or motel room or wherever.

Anyone have a laptop in good condition for sale or know of a place to look online? Would the laptops that the companies fix up and resell (forget what they call them -- reconditioned?) be any good or should I just look for a new laptop on sale somewhere and not chance a used one? What price am I looking at paying?

Thanks to whomever might want to be bothered answering my questions. Have stuff to do now but will look back in on here later. Thanks!

CC,I think they started calling them notebooks because they can get hot enough to burn your lap.Mines great,WiFi,and I can plug my blackberry into it and have WiFi anywhere, plus it charges my blackberry

BruceAZ

CC,I think they started calling them notebooks because they can get hot enough to burn your lap.

So now they aren't called "laptops" anymore, but "notebooks" -- meaning they are the same thing. They aren't put on your lap? I always planned to use mine on a table anyway.

Mine's great,WiFi,and I can plug my blackberry into it and have WiFi anywhere, plus it charges my blackberry

I will now prove to you what a techtard I truly am. LOL.

I don't have a Blackberry -- and don't care if I do either.

But what is "Wifi"? I've heard the term before. Does "wi" stand for "wireless"? What does "fi" stand for? Or is WiFi the brand name?

And you still didn't answer my questions as to what kind (brand, etc.) to buy, or where I could get a good deal, or if I should try and get a used one that's been traded in and is being resold by Dell (or another computer sales company).

No one calls them wireless laptops anymore, then?
Are they called "wireless notebooks" now?

Well, thanks anyway. : )

http://www.justin.tv/dlimitr - liveeeee.

Are they called "wireless notebooks" now?

Yesterday's news... since a year or two now, we got "netbooks".

They all got WiFi built in and are smaller than "laptops".

No built in DVD drives though.

Last year, Asus released new netbooks that finally delivered and weren't toys. Others like Acer, followed.

The prettiest and smallest netbook I've seen is the Sony. Full computer the size of a wallet.

Look up pics of Sony Viao and Acer Apire. Also Asus EEE-PC or something.

Apire=Aspire...

But what is "Wifi"?

It's something stupid people turn on so they can look cool and don't have to plug in their computers anywhere in their house.

It lets you... if you are close enough to that stupid person... steal his internet and use it for free, since most folk don't have the brains to put in a password. LOL

So having WiFi in your computer is a great thing.

If not, you can get a cheap USB-WiFi and plug that in.

If you want to know anything about computers or anything else, I have found it helps if I search for it on YouTube.

I have learnt stuff through YouTube that I couldn't by reading about it.

Boy, Tosser--that was cynical. ; ) I have a laptop from my district. It's much faster than my home computer. So I use it at home, with a wireless I pay for. : )

So I use it at home, with a wireless I pay for. : )

I pay for internet by cable and another connection which is DSL.

I am already paying for two internet connections ... I am in no mood to pay for a third. Specially when I turn on the Netbook and there it is! Connected!

I have no idea whose WiFi I am using and I'm not gonna ask. All I know is I got a third "free" connection for "emergencies" (like if the world is about to end).

What's this.

Excerpt:

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court has turned down a challenge to the Pentagon policy forbidding gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military, granting a request by the Obama administration.

The court said Monday that it will not hear an appeal from former Army Capt. James Pietrangelo II, who was dismissed under the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

The federal appeals court in Boston earlier threw out a lawsuit filed by Pietrangelo and 11 other veterans. He was the only member of that group who asked the high court to rule that the Clinton-era policy is unconstitutional.

End of excerpt.

And so it goes.

What's this.

The beginning of your migraine.

"I have no idea whose WiFi I am using and I'm not gonna ask. All I know is I got a third "free" connection for "emergencies" (like if the world is about to end)."

Right on. I have a friend who suggests that no harm accrues from stealing someone's access. It doesn't slow them down, it doesn't cost them more, so there's nothing wrong with it. (He had an analogy that went something like this: If someone ran their cable through your house, you would have a right to tap into it.) Seems like a slippery slope to me. But I have been known to piggyback on someone's wireless.

#62 | Posted by pragmatist

If they didn't want people to use their connection they should secure it. Right now I'm parked at a beach access next to a house with an unsecured network called the Blue Whale. it's a radio signal over the public airwaves.

That's my friend's point, Stirs. And I don't disagree. But it does seem a slippery slope: No one is hurt, so why not? Applying that same logic to other situations could be... problematic. But yeah, I have no problem with stealing wireless. If I leave mine unsecured and someone piggybacks, I don't care. As long as they don't slow me down. Fuckers. : )

I live in a resort area. Practically every beach house has a DSL or cable modem with a wireless. I can pick up about ten different networks at any given time. If you could track my IP you would thoroughly confused.

Successfully installed Windows 7 build 7201 - this is my first ever legitimate copy of a Windows Operating system. I feel somewhat .. dirtied.. Well, it was d/l from a torrent, so I didn't even get it from MS directly. I feel slightly better.

But what is disturbing, other than my lack of faith, is that Windows 7 has correctly installed my motherboard (NIC, audio, etc) and peripheral drivers perfectly. I just allowed it to install and PLOMP! A perfect experience, no drivers necessary. My NIC is a bastard Linksys that they don't support - it's stepping it up like a fat bitch on a skinny one.

It's faster than XP and much "cooler", thus far.
