Now maybe those Saturns will get some real horse power.

Fuckers

According to high level anonymous sources at Obama Motors, George Costanza still has Penske file.

This is what happens in a communist state. Race car owners, all well-known Totsky-ites, run everything!

But will Roger get a Saturn into NASCAR?

He could make a mint building waahmbulances for the righties though...

Imagine a Saturn winning Daytona?

I guess it COULD happen.....

Like a so called Ford or Chevy that wins actually has any parts on it that are made by Ford or Chevy.

I don't get the impression that they are going to continue to make the cars.

Did I miss something?

"Did I miss something?"

Yep - they're contracting with Gummint Motors to make the cars for them for at least two years. After that, they want to outsource them overseas.

My feeling is, after two years, they'll have to fold, because buying a car from a major automaker is a crapshoot these days - you don't know if they'll be in business later on, you don't know if they'll go into bankruptcy and get all consumer claims against them dismissed, etc. Why in hell would someone put the price of a car into something produced by an unproven indie with no demonstrated ability to support the car over time? This is Studebaker or American Motors all over again; people figured they were going to go belly-up someday and wouldn't buy their cars in profitable numbers - which, of course, made the prophecy self-fulfilling.

WE are so fucked

I used to like going to Penske to get my car serviced at K-Mart. I hope they stick around.

I heard that they may try Renault to build Saturn I don't know. This Country if falling apart at the seams.

Larry

Renault made a pretty good alliance a few years back. The Peugeot was a pretty cool car too. As long as the jobs stay here I don't care where the checks come from.

Like you understand anything.

Manufacturers use races to test parts under the most extreme situations. To the fan in the stands a race is entertainment. To an automotive engineer it's a laboratory.

Saturns get real horse power? WTF? Gas is going up again. Where's your cowboy up bumper sticker? Better yet. Big Truck little willy?

Vern-until the new body style, NASCAR cars had a hood, roof and trunk outer skin that would fit on a "real" Focus or Camrey. Also the block and heads have factory part numbers, but never were installed in a production car.

Now its down to the two engine parts. Other than that nothing was stock or is ever likely to see production.

Buy low, sell high, Mr. Penske. You thought you bought low....

Imagine, A guy who actually likes cars running a car company....Just who the fuck does this pollock think he is? Not following Omama's example....

You are a Class A idiot.

All the parts are experimental. Valves, springs, bearings, seals, etc.

The exact parts may not end up in production -- obviously regular folk don't drive 200 mph and only turn left -- but they guide engineers in making more durable parts.

The Saturn is expected to undergo several major changes. 800 horse power, full roll cages and complete Nascar approved safety equipment. Oh, and the cost will be standardized. It will be the same as the average Nextel Cup car. Around $45,00.00. They expect to produce several models however. Short track (around town), Speedway (freeway driving) and a middle of the road "combination" car. Speed limits are expected to be revised to accommodate these changes. The Penske Saturn, for when you just have to get there first.

I wanna buy one with tobacco ads painted on it! That would cut the cost.
