Chinese Government Darkens Web on Anniversary of Tiananmen Square

Twenty years ago Thursday, the Chinese government violently clashed with pro-democracy protesters in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, resulting in the deaths of possibly thousands of civilians. The government regularly attempts to suppress protests or memorials of the event, and this year its efforts include shuttering online message boards and blocking access to social networking sites.
