This so-called book you keep referring to was written by the ancient jews to protect themselves. And it was designed to be moral stories and alegories. The ancient jews were an intelligent race in a world where physical strength was valued over intellect. So they became mystics and bankers.

It was only 200 years ago, when, with the christian faith was faced with it's glaring contradictions, that religious scholars decided the book was literal, thus unquestionable. You really should study more.

I don't think the US can order israel to freeze settlements. They should just freeze aid, loan guarantees, weapons sales to all sides until a peace treaty is finished. put the carrot on the stick and shove it up their asses.

How do the DR's distinguished fundies know that Obama is not acting as God's proxy on Earth to correct the deviant and unholy actions of Israel?

Prove to me that Obama is not acting as an agent of God. Only verifiable facts, please. No subjective interpretations of deliberatly ambiguous prophecies and other such scriptural drivel.

And no, the theocracy will still remain, and they will still find a way to keep at odds with their neighbors and the international community. It does wonders for keeping them in business.

That may be very well true. I don't like much of what Obama has done so far but standing up to Israel is not a "blunder". Its his fucking job. The one-issue voters who only care about Israel are in the wrong.

Anyone who wouldn't vote for Obama for standing up to Israel doesn't have US interests at heart. We'd be better off if such people moved to Israel since they prefer Israel to the US.

But I don't even think we should be playing the role of peacemaker here. We have no control over the situation and our pretenses to the contrary have cost us. Just stop giving Israel money. I don't even see how our government can legally tax us to give the money to foreigners anyway. The pro-Israel crowd can always write their own checks. I'm sure Israel isn't too proud to take private handouts.

Bottom line is that Israel is free to do whatever they want but Americans should not be taxed to pay for it.
