Doug Ross looked at the possibility that the Obama Administration may have targeted GOP donors in deciding which Chrysler dealerships would have to close their doors.
Doug noted that every single dealer he checked out except one were either GOP donors or donated to Obama's rivals in the democratic primary.

When you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Do any from the GOP recall the way DeLay purged K street of Dems?

Remember the "Permanent Republican Majority" that denied Dems meeting space in the capitol, forcing them into the basement?

How about the documented systematic use of the IRS to persecute Dems by Dick Nixon?

I am not saying this justifies these kinds of political hardball, then or now.

I think it is wrong for either party to do it and I did expect to Obama administration to eschew them.

What I am saying is that when one party engages in slash and burn politics when in power, they may reasonably expect the same from the opposition when they are not.

to Obama = the Obama

88% of Chrysler dealerships are Republican. Move along.

Fucking entrepenuers.

Don't pretend it's politically motivated then, you hack.

"every single dealer he checked out except one were either GOP donors or donated to Obama's rivals in the democratic primary"

Doesn't mean a thing unless we also look at donations from the dealers that were kept open.

Agree.

Joe,

"Doesn't mean a thing unless we also look at donations from the dealers that were kept open."

As I tried to point out. But the data is out in the open for people to look at.

Certainly it deserves investigating further.

If you scroll down and look at Branson, they are looking at Demo contributions and finding they are staying open...

Also its gaining momentum... WSJ, et al...

I know the data is available. I'm not going to investigate it myself. I'm saying that just because those shut down were Republican donors doesn't mean that those kept open were not. Whoever is making that argument should have done more investigation themselves. It's not on me to disprove their baseless claims.

This is a question of transparency.

What was the determination formula for remaining open or closing the dealership?

Did the government decide this or Chrysler and its debtors?

"88% of Chrysler dealerships are Republican. Move along."

Lets assume you are correct, then would you not expect out of a list of 100 dealers that closed there would be 12, that donated to Obama? Well they researched well over a hunderded dealers and haven't found one instance where an Obama donor was closed.

Again this isn't really fleshed out like a NYT article, you need to look and move the mouse and read. In fact I would say this is the best type of reporting. Getting after an MSM regurgitates it is where it all gets lost in translation.

Joe,

"Whoever is making that argument should have done more investigation themselves."

They are, and its getting crowdsourced...

"I'm saying that just because those shut down were Republican donors doesn't mean that those kept open were not."

Agreed.... the chips need to be laid out....

I am only looking at this as grass roots information gathering and efforts.

If I had more time I would look at exactly what your saying.... it takes time...

THEN AGAIN.....

Shock! Big Dem Donor Group Allowed to Keep Their 6 Chrysler Dealerships Open ...Update: Their Local Competitors Eliminated!!
Are we looking at the biggest political scandal since Watergate?

Big Dem Donor Group allowed to keep all 6 Chrysler dealerships open.... Local competitors eliminated by Obama's task force!!

Earlier it was reported that the Obama Administration may have targeted GOP donors in deciding which Chrysler dealerships would have to close their doors.

Now there's this...
RLJ-McLarty-Landers is owned by three men.
One was the former Chief of Staff for President Clinton.
One is the founder of Black Entertainment Television and a huge Obama supporter.
All 6 of their Chrysler dealerships will remain open.
And, get this... Their local competitors have been eliminated!

The real question is-how-financially-were the dealerships doing when they were closed-compared to the ones that were kept open?

How was their Sales volume?
Their Service Dept. profit/loss?
body Shop?
Parts Dept?
How many employees did they have-and what were they being paid?

Typical pants-pissing reiche-wing bullshit!
Did you know he's having Soldiers buried?
How long before you accuse him of having live Rtard Soldiers buried alive?

what a bunch retarded losers!

Drunk by mid-afternoon is no way to go through life.

Regarding the latest rightie hysterifit, that the closure of Chrysler dealerships might involve the Obama Administration targeting GOP dealer-donors:

As Press Secretary Robert Gibbs explained to Garrett, it is Chrysler not the federal government that is in charge of selecting which dealerships will be closed. Further, as Nate Silver explained in a post that was published just hours after the Examiner's initial report yesterday, "There is just one problem with this theory. Nobody has bothered to look up data for the control group: the list of dealerships which aren't being closed."

Silver explained, "It turns out that all car dealers are, in fact, overwhelmingly more likely to donate to Republicans than to Democrats not just those who are having their doors closed." In all, Silver found that "88 percent of the contributions from car dealers went to Republican candidates and just 12 percent to Democratic candidates," while, the list of Chrysler dealerships being closed "gave 92 percent of their money to Republicans not really a significant difference."
