The Republicans have threatened to filibuster President Obama's pick for the Supreme Court if that person is to left from Mainstream. This whole push from the right is going to come back to bight the party in 2010 and 2012 and beyond if the republicans try and fight a Hispanic pick. The State of Texas and Arizona and Utah's lation population is growing faster and faster and the Republicans could lose a whole lot of Congressional seats and senators and even sacrifice all three of those states electoral votes going Democratic if there is a fight. I do not see this as a well thought out plan on the PUBS part.

Hate is like heroin.

You know you should stop but that next hit just keeps calling your name.

A fight on the rightwing side is going to backfire and isolate the Latino population even further from the Republican Party for years to come.

Old white men can't think 2 to 4 years in advance.

If Obama puts up a Hispanic/Latino for the Supreme Court pick and the Republicans shoot him/her down you wont see a Hispanic American ever vote Republican again in the Southwest. Make my day and watch Texas, Arizona and Utah all go Democratic.

What's a matter, afraid of someone being ' Borked'?

Amazing how the left can do and justify anything, but if the right does the same things it's bad - how pathetic, yet predictable.

The only ones who are going to be borked are the Republicans in the long run. Women comprise a 54% of registered voters in this country yet only 2 females have ever made it to the court. Hispanic Americans are the largest population base in the Southwest and growing. The court needs to reflect the diversity of our nation to be effective and fair to all as they interprete consitutional law.

It used to be that Senator's from both parties believed the president is entitled to appoint who he thinks best -- so long as the person is competent about the law.

That all changed with Robert Bork, who got stabbed in the back by Joe Biden. Biden did this after endorsing Bork, because his presidential fortunes were slipping and he was greedy for headlines.

Ever since then it's been tit-for-tat when it comes to SCOTUS.

They will not filibuster. In fact, they lack enough unity to put up a token fight. Obama made a choice who is not extreme. If he had chosen a radical, there would have been strong opposition.

Ok GOP lets completly alienate the Hispanic voting bloc with racist cartoons and statements.

We're waiting on you, we know you can do it.

OK WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!

M. Huckabee with "Maria".

That didn't take long at all.

Republicans Should Watch Their Step on Supreme Court Fight
