Unfortunately, it's not a one in a thousand thing, these ads work, even if folks are tired of them. In terms of supporting them or not, if an attack ad targets a very specific pov held by an opponent on an important issue and you can provide facts that support your position vs theirs, fine, do it. The problem is that these ads, which are already dumb, are usually dumbed down further to the level of juvenile shit slinging. That I find disgraceful, regardless of the source. It seems at times that the division is so deep in your country that each side is just frothing at the mouth for tabloid-style shit about the "other team", and within this cloud of resentment, the country's best interests are often lost.
